Found this place through yelp, wanted to give a small business my support. I wish I had better things to say.. I came on Sunday, I had an appointment at 4. I showed up 45 min earlier than my appointment since I finished my errands early. There were only two techs there, one of them being the owner. He told me I'd have to wait. I didn't mind. I was seen earlier than my appointment at around 3:30 or so. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. While the individuals working in the shop were pleasant, their work is subpar. My gel nails are already peeling and it's barely been 5 days. I am careful with my nails, especially after getting a manicure. I could tell the woman doing my nails was not trained. She kept using a brush and acetone to clean up her mistakes, which was every nail. The owner did this as well on my toes. In terms of finish, it's probably the worse pedicure I've gotten. One of my toes has air bubbles, one was over painted and corrected by acetone that it has this weird edge. Total was $55, but I won't be returning read more

What a great salon! Great location, lots of parking options and lovely service. The salon itself has 6 pedicure chairs and 3 spots for manicures. I was welcomed warmly and didn't need an appointment on a weekday morning. Large polish collection and the spa chairs are very comfortable and relaxing. The salon is very clean and 100% spotless- everything is shiny, disinfected and well appointed. Very reasonable prices for great quality service- I'll be back! read more

I got a gel manicure and once home had to file corners on 3 nails that were not complete. They didn't have color that was displayed as an option, and I was given an alternate color which was just "okay," but looked like a manicure I could have done at home. And now only 5 days later, polish that was applied to skin, not nail, has lifted on 2 nails and chipped majorly. Looks worse than a job I could've done myself. Another major gripe that they do not offer gloves and told me that the LED lights are not harmful with UV rays...which is completely WRONG! Any google search will tell you that LED light rays in the nail dryer emit strong UV rays that are harmful to the skin. So...still looking for a nail salon in East Bay that can hold a candle to my old spot in the city. read more

Terrific New Nail Salon My daughter and I had pedicures yesterday at the "Gel Nails Spa" at 3557A Mt Diablo Blvd across the street from Uncle Yus. It is sparkling clean and modern with relaxing comfortable chairs. Most importantly David and Lisa are patient, artistic and thorough and no rush, great foot and leg massage and great attention to detail. It was the best 1 hour therapy possible I have been going to nail salons for 30 years and this was the best pedicure I ever had. They also do manicures and gel nails. The prices are very reasonable just $25 for a 1 hour pedicure. So conveniently located in downtown Lafayette. They are a new privately owned business that I would like to support. I always have such...weird experiences here. Let me elaborate, cause that's vague. Listen, I'm not picky. Just get to me on time, don't overbook yourself, and make my nails look lit. This place does REALLY well with nails, but booking an appointment is pointless, because they either tell you they're full, or they have you wait. The first time I went here, they did a great job for a lunch walk-in that only had an hour (that was me!). I wanted to keep supporting them, because they're right around the corner from my work. Recently, I called to make an appointment for like, 6pm, for a gel mani and a regular pedi. They just said no and that was the final answer. Not "we're booked" but just no. I'm assuming it's because they thought I would be there past close. Today, I called and made an appointment for a gel mani, at 5 pm. Walk in, and both techs are busy, so I sit down to wait. I'm looking at polish in the bottle and the guy is just like "the samples are there, grab those and sit down" okay... no communication about the fact I made an appointment. 5:15 rolls around and he's like "can you wait 10 more minutes while I do this other person?" I had gel on, dude. You could have started soaking my nails and then done her toes, and at least I would have been happier about that. Time to find a place close to work that I'm happy with! Randomly stumbled upon this nail place, which was good because I hadn't done my nails in a few months to let them heal. I am super into gel nails because they don't break as easy. They have a great selection of colors and Lisa was super nice. I am pretty indecisive so I just kept asking her for her opinion on one color versus another. She gave some really good color suggestions. She wasn't too hard when she did my nails, because I have had some nail techs who have made me bleed. Lisa is not one of them. Lisa just gave me a pedicure complete in a wonderful relaxing massage chair (state of the art) and feet messages plus a nice pedicure for my out of shape toenails. I do the dip here and yes it takes a long time but that is because they more than any other place I have been are perfectionists so you don't have to keep coming back becuase a nail broke or something happened. I have been coming here for over two years and they tend to do a great job. However, I felt the need to share my experience from today. I called and made an appointment for a gel pedicure only at 11:45. I do not mind waiting 10-15 minutes for them to get started in a scenario when they are running late / are super busy although the time management seems to be a reoccurring issue at this place. They started on my toes a little late at about 12 noon which like I said is not entirely a problem. Yet, I had four different people work on my feet and did not leave the salon until a whole hour later when all I got was a gel pedicure. I did not say anything because I know they have a lot of customers but I was really disappointed that they continued to switch the people who were doing my feet. I do not mind one or two different people working on them (if say, one person starts and another finishes)... Nevertheless, this has happened to me a couple times now but today I wanted to say something about it because I thought four different people was excessive. I understand that they take walk ins as well but I feel as though when they do this it causes them to rush through the customers that are already there even the ones who had set appointment times. I don't like the feeling that they are not taking their time with each customer because they want to be sure they can squeeze in more people for the rest of the day. I do not recommend this place since they are extremely cheap and refuse to give you what they promised, on the phone before I arrived and in person before my repair was made; Free Broken Nail Repairs! Read on: I have come to this nail salon for several months and they are normally very friendly. Today I came in to have a tipped nail overlay that chipped repaired. The guy that did my nail began to take short cuts by not putting on a tip and simply using acrylic to shape my nail. Well, long story short my molded nail that was supposed to look like my other tipped nails in length and shape looked horrible. My goodness, it did not match my nails at all. It looked like a club on the end of my finger! No matter how much he filed it resembled a stalactite hanging from a cave. Then I complained when he questioned whether I liked it. Then another woman came up asking loudly what was wrong. When I explained I wanted a tip and an overlay as I had asked him initially, she argued saying he could shape a nail with acrylic. I agreed. Then showed her the nail and said it looked like a club and I wasn't happy. Then she sat down and began to attempt to salvage that mess. I finally put my finger in my mouth and bit that clump of an acrylic nail off. I then asked for them to do it as I had paid for in the first place. She finally agreed to put the tip back on that had broke off( It snapped off by gently washing a dish, BTW) and finished my nail with only one coat of gel and did a shoddy job. When I got to the front I attempted to confirm that broken nails were free of charge to repair before I walked out. The owner or manager changed her story and told me they would not charge this time but would charge going forward and gave me a hokey reason, if they have to put a tip and acrylic or powder, it will cost. I said most broken nails are acrylic tipped nails and why had their "Free Nail Repair" policy suddenly change? She gave no good answer and kept repeating that if a tip needed to be replaced I would be charged????? This felt very much like they were retaliating. Solid place that puts out consistently great work HOWEVER they are super busy, customers frequently outnumber the staff. Do not expect to get out quickly if you're in a hurry. They work really fast but you may be left unattended for like 10 minutes while they get someone else started. Honestly though, I love sitting and enjoying the massage chair, I don't mind when it takes a little longer to get out if you do then this isn't the place for you. They always get my ingrowns, they always deliver when I ask for intricate nail art, and the product lasts forever. read more

This salon started out to be a wonderful experience when they first bought it from the previous owners. It was calm, services were fantastic, and you were generally seated at your appointment slot. As time went on, they would leave you waiting for 10-30 minutes, were very rude to the point of yelling at customers (LUNA) in front of everyone, awful work, gel peeling within a day, and overall low quality. My bad for continuing to come back, but I was thinking they were just having a bad day and was hopeful for the original experiences. Those good days never came back. I feel terrible that I referred so many friends and family here and not one ever went back for a second time. I was also very generous with anyone who did my services. I realized that the longer you were a customer, the worse they treated you. Rather than treating you as a loyal returning customer, with kindness and respect, they seemed to be annoyed that they had people waiting. Yet while waiting new customer/walk ins would get treated sooo sweetly! Once they started services, they were hasty, sloppy and an unpleasant experience. I was reading reviews here with the photos of people raving about their nails...quite frankly most pictures looked really poor, with very thick gel or polish, applied very sloppy. These people obviously haven't had excellent services elsewhere to know the difference. I always paid in cash and a few times was given the wrong change. I always brought it to their attention, and they corrected it but I don't think it's an accident. If you pay in cash, check your change!! read more
