Every visit, I'm greeted with a warm smile and genuinely excellent customer service. I work in the same plaza, so I stop by quite often, and the staff always make me feel welcome. The prices are very reasonable, the gelato is delicious, and the management does an amazing job creating such a friendly and inviting atmosphere. We made our way over here to try this place and it didn't disappoint. Flavors were plentiful and prices weren't bad. You also get to sample, which is always a plus to see what you like! Service was great and small inside but ample seating. Only issue could be that it's in a very popular shopping center so parking can be tough. We did luck out though and got front row parking so it is hit or miss. Either way, worth checking out!!!! read more

Just done celebrating, at J Bar, the start of a new job. And I wanted some good ice cream afterward. But then I remembered I saw, from the bus, a gelato place around the corner. And the gelato at Gelato Bar was the call. I was greeted by the ingredients that will be tomorrow's gelato, so you know how fresh it is. And then a friendly dipper helped me put together a concoction that was S'mores in a cup. One scoop marshmallow, one chocolate, and one Cinnamon Toast Crunch on the top. All of which I ate vertically to make the flavor combination work. And these are only three of the great flavors in their line up. Even with what I got, nothing was too sweet, everything was full flavored, and even the marshmallow wasn't cloying. Great balance of creamy and campfire. The parking to get inside was a little busy but that's what you expect on a Friday night in Vegas! The people working behind the counter were very efficient and friendly. They asked us if we wanted to try samples and the flavors look absolutely amazing. Each gelato flavor was beautifully decorated with a feature of the flavor on top. For example, the cheesecake flavor had a whole slice of cheesecake on top! Although it might now end up on your cup, it's still a great decorative piece. Unfortunately the pricing is just unaffordable. $8.75 plus tax for a double scoop (so $9.48), $10.75 plus tax for a triple scoop (so $11.65). Plus the tip option which I feel guilty if I click "no tip" so suddenly it's $11 for two scoops or $14 for three, which is the cost of a meal or 2-3 pints at the grocery store. A decade of deception, and counting. "Gelato" Bar is a misnamed place that obviously serves ice cream. They don't even try to hide it with the ice cream scoopers instead of spatulas, regular spoons instead of gelato shovel spoons, and all those toppings which scream sundae rather than gelato. And even if it were gelato, you wouldn't want to pick a place that has all the food coloring which they use. I tried two sorbets, passion fruit and lemon. Neither closely resembled the fruits closely enough the way a sorbetto at a proper gelateria would. I stuck to sampling the dairy-based flavors of ice cream afterward, and eventually tasted enough options to feel comfortable with placing an order. The Triple Scoop, $10.25, is clearly priced for gelato and not ice cream. It was very obvious that all three ice cream flavors I tasted had too much overrun (air) for gelato. The rum raisin was decent and didn't contain a lot of alcohol despite the employee's warning. The hazelnut had the right flavor but obviously tasted less pure than a gelato, and the bits of actual hazelnut would never be present in hazelnut the gelato. The black sesame was actually quite good, but it contained the crushed sesame bits that aren't even in a good black sesame soft serve. I have to assume that the crowds that filled the store are there because there isn't much else in the way of dessert in the plaza, and that they don't care about the difference between gelato and ice cream. I did enjoy hearing a bunch of Billie Eilish songs at the shop at least. Gelato Bar is a dessert option that can be a reasonable for their creamy flavors if you can't drive to a great ice cream shop. I might rate them higher if they didn't resort to straight up false advertising. read more
