This business truly lacks integrity. I came in with images I saw online and asked them to pull them. They said the online inventory is incorrect and the dresses were unavailable. I chose 5 dresses to try on, chose one, had to pay 29.95 for the privilege of try on and to receive the sale price As advertised in store. I later realized it was one of the dresses I had a screenshot of and it was $150 online. They refuse to honour their own pricing, claim to be disconnected with the IT department and will not issue a refund. Shop somewhere else where you get honest service. read more

One month later I called to get refund as I was no longer able to attend. Was told suit pants have been hemed and waiting for pick up, three months in advance. My friend just rented a tux for her son's graduation. She went to pick it up on Tuesday as per the instructions, and the store was closed. Even the voice message stated it was open. Also, there were a bunch of hidden fees in the rental, including a mandatory tip of all things. When we arrived for our appointment, we were told they don't have it in stock and have never had it as it is a popular line and not available. We were told there are similar dresses upstairs to try on. With zero customer support, we did as told and selected 5 dresses by taking pics of the stock numbers. Then we were told we would have to pay to try on these dresses Apparently all of the new arrivals are on mannequins, requiring $30 to try on. We left disappointed. I'm a bridesmaid for a close friend and we had a really fun day visiting a few bridal shops in the city today to see if we could find our dresses! We had a reservation at Gemini for 3 pm. There was a bit of confusion when our group arrived, but we eventually found our way to the bridesmaid section to browse the selection. We were left to our own devices for 45 minutes, and someone from our group left twice to see if they could find us some help- we knew the next group was in at 4 pm and there was signage indicating we shouldn't try on anything without an employee present. By the time an employee showed up we had decided to try some things on anyway and were pretty much finished with the experience. We didn't have much time to ask any questions about color swatches and sizing, and the employee didn't seem to notice/care that she was 45 minutes late for our appointment. We let management know at the front desk that we had a negative experience, but her response was "I sent someone to you right away." The experience was just so far below the other stores we visited today, and we were all so unimpressed that we wouldn't have purchased anything here anyway. read more

My daughter arrived for her 'appointment' ahead of us and was not allowed to even look around at grad dresses as she wasn't 18. Idiotic policy. When we arrived, we got the snotty "well do you have an appointment?" Query... We confirmed we did. But it didn't make a difference. No one was there to help anyway. It worked out ok as 92% of their dresses are the cheapest fabric, shoddily made, rubbish designs that are 100%+++! Marked up and wayyy overpriced for the quality presented. And then... should you miraculously find something to your liking, you get to wait 4 MONTHS min for delivery!! Apparently the cheapest labour is on the moon?? It's 2018! NOTHING should take 4 months. Garbage service. Crap product. Crap service. Warehouse ugly shop. Avoid at all cost. This store has literally thousands of dresses to choose from. Unfortunately, it is very poorly organized. Even with the help of "service" it is very hard to find anything. They just rifle through endless racks. My "service" was extremely rude and disinterested, I'm sure because I was only looking for a dress for myself and didn't have a $5000 budget. I had done a lot of research online and had a few dresses I wanted to try on in mind before I went in. Mysteriously, the dresses I had looked at online were $300 more in store after I emailed them asking if they were in stock in my sample size. When I went to show them the price online, that had mysteriously gone up too. When I showed them the screen shots on my phone they said I must have been on a different site, even though you could clearly see the URL in the address bar. So frustrating. I walked in to just look at some wedding dresses with my boyfriend since we were looking at furniture at ideal furnishings next door. I didn't know you had to make an appointment since it was my first time being there. the sales associate at the front desk asked if i had an appointment and I told her I didn't, and that I just wanted to take a look around. She gave me a form to fill out just because I wanted to take a look around..? Kind of weird to me since I wasn't planning on trying anything on. After filling the form out she told me that the wedding dresses are on the right of the show room, and not to move anything and that if i wanted to try a dress on, to not touch it and just head to the front desk. I understand it might just be a business policy to keep everything in order but the service made me feel as if I was some criminal that shouldn't be trusted around a bunch of wedding dresses.. Needless to say I didn't stay for longer than 5 minutes looking around because I felt as if I was very unwelcome. Definitely won't be buying from here in the future. read more

We were unaware that you had to make an appointment so we were pleasantly surprised that they would still help us on a busy Saturday afternoon! We were able to walk around the entire store for an hour making selections then narrowed it down to 5. The consultant helping us was very kind and sweet. Helpful with fittings and discussed alterations. We ended up buying a dream dress that day and they were very helpful with payment plans! We paid half that day and will pay the balance upon pickup! That was very very helpful as the dress we chose was not cheap! I would recommend booking an appointment so you're not disappointed! 1000's of gowns to choose from! The only positive about Gemini is that they have a lot of selection - there are two floors of dresses and accessories to look through. Staff are incredibly ambivalent and could care less about your experience. No one greeted us on our arrival, and staff walked past us without helping when we were trying to find different sizes and styles. You're left on your own and have to seek out staff to assist you. Maximum 5 dresses per person to try on in your consultation time, and no one came to help us, so we wasted 30 minutes of our 45 minute slot. If you're looking for sequinned or overpriced poor quality, this is the place. Not worth the time or the money read more

I got my wedding dress here and when I tried one on the rack the sales lady tells me I needed to lose a few pounds! Completely unprofessional. And I had also ordered my bridesmaids dress' at Gemini, and it was a nightmare. They did custom sizing for each girl and when they came in nothing was exact. All six girls had an issue with their dress; two sizes to big, bust was to big and not made to size, and straps were all long and saggy in the back. Also today, went in to pick up a dress that they altered - gave us a hard time, as they failed to give a paper of the order for the alterations, and demanded ID and were being extremely rude about it. Went to look for prom dresses, there was no one to help you look for any type of dress, you can only try on 5 dress or pay a non -refundable amount to try on more. The staff was not friendly and no approachable. Some dresses you could NOT try on unless you paid the non-refundable price. Horrible store!! We made a trip from Calgary to look at dresses in Edmonton. The store "allowed" my daughter to try on 5 dresses. Unless she paid a NON-REFUNDABLE 75.00 deposit to try on more. She found one she wanted to try on. Oh, but she couldn't unless she got the premium package to try on dresses for the 75.00 non-refundable. So, literally, she had to pay 75.00 if she wanted to try on a dress. She did try on a few. No photos allowed. All stores in Calgary allowed photos, which was very helpful when trying to decide on one. One star because the girl was very nice and helpful. I have never written a review before but have never ever experienced a store that charged the customer to try the clothing on. Um, the point of a store is to sell the clothing, isn't it?? read more

A very disappointing experience. Had an appointment booked and had to wait 15 minutes at the front service counter before an employee even acknowledged my niece and I (we were the only 2 waiting at the counter where 3 employees were working). Even then, the employee simply checked off our name and told us to "wait here". We then waited another 10 minutes at which point we decided to make our way through the thousands of dresses unaccompanied by a consultant. I finally found someone to help me and was told my niece could try on 5 dresses. Are you kidding me? A 17-year who as never tried a gown on in her life is "allowed" to try on 5 dresses max! When she was ready to try on her FIVE VERY EXPENSIVE dresses, we were told we had to wait 30 minutes as the consultant my niece was assigned to had just left for her lunch break. Worst bridal store EVER! The consultant showed up 30 minutes late to our appointment. Proceeded to give us hell for trying on dresses while we waited for her. Told us our party of 6 was allowed to try on 5 dresses total. They want to limit the number of dresses because if you try on 15 in a month they charge$150 JUST TO TRY ON the 16th dress. This is the worst shopping experience I have ever had. I came with a group of 4 other women to find bridesmaid dresses. We had an appointment and when the appointment was booked, the bride was told that we would be able to find convertable style dresses within our clearly specified budget. That was a bold faced lie that a staff member brushed off when confronted about it. We had to argue to be allowed to try on 2 dresses each for the entire appointment of 45 minutes. The staff tried to say we could only try 6 total for 4 people. The bride had asked during the booking if we would be able to book multiple slots so as to have enoygh time/staff. She was told that was not necessary. Another lie. Every staff member was very abrupt, would not listen, and one outright blamed our bride for not booking a slot on a weekday when we would be allowed extra time to try on more dresses. The selection is pitiful and the quality is abyssmal for their high end prices. The pictures on the dress tags are not even the same dress. While waiting for a changing room, we noticed dresses that had unfinished hemlines, that were dirty, and one being sold that was broken that a staff member kept trying to hold together so it would not be noticed by the customer. The changing room attendant that was (barely) assisting us decided to loudly announce when a dress would not fit one of our party correctly, and that the next size up wouldn't work either, basically telling her she was too large for their sizes in earshot of the entire changing area. It was severely poor customer service and rudely handled. Another employee butt in and tied to sell us on a dress that we repeatedly told him we hadn't even tried on yet and was not the right color. He ignored us completely and continued to press on after several times of us saying we hadn't tried it on. They even have the audacity to say that they reserve the right to confiscate your phone so you do not take photos of the dresses. This store is very large and a bit disorganized. There is a very extensive selection of prom and formal gowns with a limited selection of bridal wear Staff (when you could find them) were helpful to find the dress you wanted to try on. Most of the floor staff were busy with clients trying on dresses or at the front counter. We did not have an appointment, was walk in when the store opened on a Saturday, it becomes very busy very quick. Once you figure out "their system" to try on the dresses you have an dedicated staff member to help you. A shout out to Hannah at the Edmonton store location. She was very pleasant and excited about seeing how each dress looked on our daughter and was very helpful to narrow down the selection. Once the dress was decided, she quickly found out whether it was available to order and was able to get us on our way. One drawback was the dress we purchased was no longer made and we had to purchase off the rack (it fit her perfectly). Hannah was able to approve a small discount but as this dress was purchased off the rack, it was the ONLY one available, it was not able to be ordered (was discontinued in production) I felt the discount was not adequate considering there are some minor flaws with the material (can be easily fixed with alterations but should have been offered a bigger discount (20-25%) would have been acceptable as we still have to send the dress for dry cleaning. This establishment refused my wife service because she wouldn't remove her prosthesis - no shoes allowed on the carpet. Her heeled prosthesis wasn't designed for walking on flat floors, so her options were either to gown shop on her stump or come back when she had a proper foot. Pointing out that their wheelchair ramp implied a willingness to accommodate disabilities had no effect. How about if we clean her nearly-new size-six shoe really well? Nope - no shoes allowed. I wish I could pick zero stars! This place is a joke. They are selling defective gowns and passing them off for full price. I ordered a gown that cost me $600 so of course I expected quality. When I got it there were a couple defects. They promised to have the seamstress fix them but in the process she ruined the zipper so that it popped out right on the bum area. They swore they didn't touch the zipper but based on the previous repairs that would have been impossible. At the end of the day I demanded they order me a new dress which they SAID they did. When I went to pick it up it was the same exact defective dress. I had made note of the stitching on the inside they did to fix the last problem. When I brought it to the manager she insisted that this was the new dress she ordered. Bold faced lie! I will never shop there again. I have had better luck on line and better prices with companies who care about the quality of the product and stand behind it. These guys are impossible to deal with. I recently visited Gemini Bridal as a part of a wedding group. We purchased 1 wedding gown, 1 mother of the bride dress and 3 bridesmaids dresses. Overall we were very disappointed with the level of service (or lack of service) we received at Gemini. The store was disorganized and in my opinion run very poorly. The staff were very unhelpful and un-knowledgeable about the product they carried. The wedding gown the bride chose couldn't actually be ordered and we were only notified after going to pay for the dress, this was after the bride had tried it on twice in two separate appointments. Thankfully the wedding gown fit well off the rack and only needs minor alterations. No discounts were provided for purchasing all 5 dresses at their store. Only dry-cleaning was offered up for the off the rack dress. The store itself is very large and they have a big selection of Prom Gowns (not nearly as much selection for bridal) but isn't organized very clearly. Most signage had multiple spelling errors, the change rooms were dirty and small. When arriving at your appointment they were very stingy about how many dresses you were able to try on in your allotted time. We returned the second time for the bridesmaids dresses and they would not honour the appointment we had made because they had overbooked their staff and would not help our group. If we were able to find any of the dresses we purchased elsewhere in the city, we would have in a heartbeat. I would not recommend this store to anyone looking for a wedding, bridesmaid, prom dress or evening wear. There are so many better options within Edmonton, that will not only help you find your dream dress but make you feel welcome. Save yourself the time and irritation and go elsewhere. read more

The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the woman at reception was helpful in accommodating us when we showed up a day early for our VIP appointment. Unfortunately the rest is completely negative! I paid for a "VIP experience" for my daughter to find her dream grad dress. The experience was not VIP it was barely tolerable. Our Consultant, Caroline, had no personality and seemed to have very little interest in her job or customer service. The store is huge and has a overwhelming selection to choose from but it would have been nice if our consultant made suggestions and helped us navigate the store. She seemed more interested in checking her phone than helping us. Apparently the rule at this store is that you are only allowed to try on 5 dress per appointment but since I had booked the "VIP" it meant we had an hour to try on. I had to remind our consultant of this fact as she only going to allow my daughter to try on 5 dresses. The "VIP" appointment is a complete joke! We left our appointment with my daughter upset to tears as she felt incredibly rushed by the consultant (barely letting my daughter get out of a dress before taking it to hand back up). I found another smaller store to let us walk in and my daughter found an incredibly beautiful dress. The two ladies that helped us were wonderful and made our experience what we hoped it would have been at Gemini. read more

Our "consultant" ignored us the entire time we were there... in fact I would call it apathy as it was like pulling teeth to get her to help us at all. Also their policy is the appointment is only 45 minutes and you get only 6 dresses to try on!... that huge store and you can only try on 6 dresses?!? :( Since our visit there we have gone to many other prom/bridal stores (many in West Edmonton Mall) and the customer service was 1000 times better! (and they have no limit on the number of dresses you try on!!!!) Apparently Gemini does NOT want to be in business long! That's okay... The worst customer service ever, ordered a grad dress in October was told it would be ready in early March, called at the end of March as we hadn't heard off them to be told it would be there next week, called 10 days later to be told it would be in late May as they didn't have enough orders for the shipment to be sent.....I had to tell them that grad date had changed and miraculously the dress arrived 5 days later, they need to stop with the lies and tell their customers the truth as a lot of money is spent on these dresses and it's a stressful time without the added stress of the dress being delayed. Will never shop there again and will not recommend this store to anyone. read more
