Have been to Lunatic Fringe in SLC multiple times so I was excited to learn there's a new location in South Valley! Talking to them I learned they've been open about 7 months? They have an inviting lobby with huge windows for natural light with a beautiful view, their shampoo room is SO relaxing with dim lighting and warmed blankets to warm up after coming in from the cold, and their stations have a little drink stand to hold a complimentary beverage to keep you hydrated while you're getting your hair cut. Everyone is so nice and down to earth and relatable it just puts you at ease. Had such a positive experience that I convinced my husband to come get his hair cut here too and we both plan on coming back and will totally recommend this location :) read more

I wish I lived in the area and wasn't just passing through! Desperately needing a cut, I did a little online research and chose Sarah at Lunatic Fringe. I brought a few pictures and talked through my vision with Sarah. She understood immediately and gave me a great cut. I went from shapeless, below my shoulders blah to a cute short, full-of-body bob! I loved that there was no pressure to get my color done, or to buy product. I came to this Salon for a haircut. I booked the appointment over the phone and it was a very smooth process, they also sent me a reminder before my appointment. When I arrived I was already loving the vibe of the salon, the coffee and soda bar was a huge plus. My stylist Sarah was awesome she was very personable and she listened to my needs. I had a cut from another salon that I needed fixed and Sarah made sure we discussed what to expect from the haircut. The shampoo experience was the best i've ever had, their shampoo room had dim lighting and spa music playing, they even asked if I wanted a warming blanket before we started the shampoo. The experience was very relaxing. My haircut turned out great it was exactly what I was hoping for and Sarah asked me how I wanted it styled which I really appreciated. My stylist was fantastic, the ambulance great, the product beautifully scented. I let them know when I started there that I live 4 hours away and have been a victim of Muskox and President Buffoonhole, as a federal worker and that my schedule can change at the last minute. They said " ok just call and let us know, no problem. After three fantastic experiences, they let me down. I called, not to cancel, but to see if there was availability to move it. I would even have been willing to prepay. But family circumstances made it so it was impossible for me to arrive in time. I was told, without even a pause to ask my stylist, that I would be charged regardless. Mind you, I've rescheduled with her at least twice. I can't afford to pay for my haircut today and again when it's rescheduled. Sadly, they didn't even want to help or ask any questions. read more

I can't say enough amazing things about this salon. You are always greeted with a warm and friendly smile and asking if you would like a beverage or a snack. You are soon met by your stylist who thoroughly goes over your concerns and what you hope to get out of your visit. After you are whisked away into the relaxing lather lounge where are treated with the most amazing wash. Once finished they finish off your visit with the most exceptional blowout. 10/10 read more

As soon as you walk in you can feel the happy and friendly vibe. Mandy did a phenomenal job on my full head highlights and was able to pull more color than previous artists. I have very very long hair so they foiled my hair as a duo! The staff offered me drinks and snacks throughout the 6 hour process. The price was very affordable compared to other salons I've patroned. Overall I received 5 star service and will definitely being going back for my future hair needs!!! read more

**Ask for Harli!!! She's a miracle worker! I have to start out by saying that while I would never take pride in being called a Karen, I have been known to put on my Karen pants...making me difficult. So imagine how pleasantly surprised I was by this experience! I had some trepidation going in; I am not in Utah often, and usually get my haircut elsewhere (San Francisco), but I had a hair emergency. I needed a curtain bang, and I needed it yesterday. I went into an ADHD hole and was deep into Yelp and Reddit, trying to find a good salon. I needed my fringe fixed, so I thought the name was kismet! Harli squeezed me in, and listened to my stories of hair trauma (my bangs are flat! there is this weird angle here!), and looked at my photos. She explained what she was doing (texturizing! now I am cutting the curtain bang) which I really appreciated. Communication goes far in the corporate world and with clients. I honestly don't know what kind of witchcraft she used, but I went in with borderline Katy Perry awkward short bangs, and I left with A-M-A-Z-I-N-G Daisy Edgar-Jones- style bangs! Not even kidding! I usually go to Cody At lunatic fringe for my haircuts and she always makes me leave looking amazing. I made the mistake of going to a different salon for a gloss and was not happy with the result. Lunatic fringe was able to squeeze me in last minute with Harli to get me some baby lights and let me tell you she worked some MAGIC!! I left absolutely loving my hair. Everyone at the salon is so sweet and welcoming and the salon itself is gorgeous and peaceful. read more

They canceled my appointment last minute and couldn't offer a replacement appointment because they don't have any other hairstylist that does K-tips. they recommended that I try another lunatic fringe, but it'll take a week or more to have the consultation again and order the hair/get the extensions. I'm extremely disappointed, they didn't offer to make this situation better in anyway. I know it's not their fault that their hair stylist left last minute but it does suck that now I'm out of an appointment especially because I took off work for it and I wanted the extensions for an event this Saturday night. I asked about any other salons that might be able to help me out and they had no recommendations to give. I wouldn't recommend this lunatic fringe if you're looking for exceptional customer service. read more

I would follow Kati to the moon! She is the absolute BEST colorist that I have ever had...she has a renowned reputation for her talent with color in the Lunatic Fringe world. I wouldn't trust anyone else. She is the only stylist I have ever had who really listens to what I want and does it, (and is never offended!). Kati is ALWAYS upbeat, positive, fun and funny and I can't imagine not getting my 'dose' of Kati every six weeks! Lunatic Fringe South Valley is cozy, and well-designed with comfort and convenience in mind. It's located near great eating spots, has tons of parking available and is right off the freeway for those of us who followed her from the Avenues to Draper! (The drive is well worth it). She is a true pro--tough to find any better! Oliva, her daughter, is just as talented and meticulous as her mom--can't miss with either of them!
