My adorable aunt wanted to treat my sister and I to a nice dinner and chose this place that's close to her home. My sister and I don't eat a whole ton so we didn't think we'd make the most of the all you can eat Korean BBQ but my aunt was insistent! None of us had been to a Korean bbq house with an all you can eat concept before and we didn't get a whole ton of recommendations or direction from our server. I have been to Korean bbq before and know enough from those experiences not to overcook the meat but the servers weren't willing to switch out our grate so by the end everything had a gross black oil around it from all the meats/sauces caked on it. Overall probably not my jam and service was pretty subpar but the list of meat options to grill was super extensive & a neat experience

I loved the ambiance and very good service here. The food was very tasty and fresh, variety was overwhelming, but we liked almost everything. I was not sure about soju, so I just got Sapporo. $31 for all what you can eat including sides is a great price. I will attach some pictures of food, which my friends and I enjoyed here. The three things I would not go with are their glass noodles Jap Chae, they were bland and I could not taste anything but pure soy sauce, the second: gooey donuts. Dough was very gooey and looked like was not fried properly. Soondooboo Soup was bland, broth was diluted with water. I think it had lack of spices, was greasy and bland. And lastly, calamari rings were greasy and had thick batter coating. The rest was all good and tasty. I would recommend.

It's exciting that Gen Korean BBQ is now in the Austin area. I came here for dinner on a Saturday evening and got seated immediately. I ordered their Premium Dinner because the options looked good and to no surprise, they were! I tried all the Premium options, except for the build your own ramen. The Premium Wagyu and Premium Marbling Center Cut Marinated Short Rib were my top favorites. The Premium Rib-Eye Steak wasn't available, but I had their Skirt Steak instead which tasted great. I highly suggest pairing it with their rice paper. Overall, it was a good dinner experience despite not having all options available from the Premium menu. I wanted to try their premium sweet garlic sauce but it wasn't available. However, the regular sweet garlic sauce was still good. The restaurant seats a good amount of people. Interior is clean and dimly lit. It is located in a strip mall, so parking is abundant.

Had a pretty satisfying lunch AYCE here. We ordered Honey Soy Beef Belly, Garlic Samgyupsal and the Smoked Samgyupsal. The Smoked Samgyupsal had a very strong smoky flavor almost like bacon. I personally prefer the Garlic Samgyupsal and Honey Soy beef belly, the marinade was chef's kiss! Also, the servers here are very attentive. They refill your side dishes even before you realize it's gone.

We went here for lunch yesterday. This restaurant is within a very large shopping area along with Target in Pflugerville. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted promptly and see it at a very nice table. This is a great place for a celebration. In the middle of the table is a cooking area. People are served raw food and they cook it themselves. Lots of sauces and sides are provided for dipping and garnishing. We got steaks and shrimps and fish and vegetables and white rice. The service was prompt, informative, and adequate. The restaurant was very clean. The energy in the restaurant was happy. The only reason I am giving four stars instead of five is because for people who cannot have sugar, there is very limited accommodations. Cooking the raw food with no sauce is not palatable in my opinion. The only sauce they had that did not have sugar was sesame oil. I actually left the restaurant and went to Target , bought myself some sauce and came back to eat my lunch. The vegetables were good and they came with some fresh pineapple. I did enjoy those with no sauce, I actually didn't even cook them. I love them raw. For someone with zero food issues, this is a wonderful restaurant and a great place to celebrate. With people with any food conditions, make sure to call first. There's only one cooking element so if somebody is sensitive to something, their food all has to be cooked first and can't be cooked with the others, which is another awkward situation. If there's any sensitivity to sugar, make sure to bring your own sauce and plan on being there a while because your food has to be cooked completely separately from everyone else's.

I had the BEST birthday at Gen Korean BBQ House. I had never been to KBBQ and the atmosphere was STUNNING, the food was immaculate, and the service was OUT OF THIS WORLD. Dylan was the best server ever and so kind and attentive and an absolutely so gentleman! I had a FUN birthday experience, the dessert was so yummy, and the birthday delivery with the servers singing was SO CUTE and made me feel so special! I'm grateful to have found this restaurant and experience and I will 1000% be back and bring my friends to try this wonderful dining experience. Please give Dylan a well deserved raise /5

I usually go to the location on I-35, but I decided to try the Pflugerville location this time--and I'm glad I did. The I-35 location has always been hit or miss for me: service is super slow, and the customer service never really meets my expectations. At the Pflugerville location, I was seated right away, the food came out quickly, and the service was excellent from start to finish. The food was great and tasted fresh. The ambiance was welcoming and relaxed, making the dining experience much more enjoyable. It felt clean, comfortable, and not rushed at all. Parking was also easy, with plenty of spots right in front of the restaurant. I'll definitely be coming back--and this will be the only location I visit from now

First time here and I must say the service was great. Our waiter was super attentive and nice. I was surprise they did not offer many veggie options and did not provided lettuce so you could eat with your Korean bbq. Our favorite was the beef Bulgogi, spicy pork belly, Kim chi, Kim chi radish, and shrimp -5/5 stars. There was only 5 banchan dishes wish is subpar from other Korean bbq places. *short rib: super chewy and thin- 1/5 stars *spicy octopus- they were sliced and chewy-1/5 stars * galbi- chewy 1/5 stars * steak- 3/5 stars * second batch of Kim chi was super salted and unfermented.- uneatable * pickles cucumbers- salty * blue drink 5/5 tasty and refreshing! * spicy tofu - 1/5 tasted very tomato soup instead of the traditional spicy tofu soup. It was not authentic * soy bean tofu soup- 1/5 off taste We got the regular AYCE KBBQ and did not get the premium. I didn't feel with what they offer was worth the additional price. The meats are subpar quality compare to other KBBQ places.

While visiting family in Austin, we started talking about Gen Korean BBQ because I had been to the one in New Jersey before, so we decided to go. It ended up being a great experience, especially thanks to our server, Tarek. He was friendly, attentive, and clearly knew the menu well. He recommended trying some of the premium meats, and the long bone short rib was easily the highlight -- super flavorful and really tender. He kept our grill clean and made sure food kept coming even when it got busy. Great service and great quality meats overall. I'd definitely come back again.

    Good stuff!

It's loud, it's confusing, it's a lot of fun. For $21 at lunch, you can order any of the several dozen meat options and any of the appetizers. You cook the meat yourself on the tabletop grill, which was more fun than I expected. It's an All You Can Eat deal. As long as you're still going, they keep bringing! I went with a group of four, which makes it even more fun and more confusing, with each of us forgetting what we'd ordered and just sharing everything. Each of us got our own bowl of rice and we shared tiny bowls of Korean condiments, like kimchi, pickled onions and radish, weird mash potatoes with corn etc. Everything was constantly replenished by a very patient and friendly server who was very nice about explaining everything to our group of newbies. The interior is very sleek and modern with an understated black and blue light motif. It would be especially striking at night. Foodwise, the only disappointment was the Korean fried chicken, which I generally love. It was tasty, but a bit hard and dry. All the other meat, we cooked ourselves. I especially loved the generous slab of marinated pork belly and the steak. For an extra charge, you can upgrade and get a big thick steak, but honestly, with the basic menu this good, and endless, why bother?

I liked the short rib fingers, galbi and pork belly. I thought they were marinated well and tender. Out of the appetizers I liked the japchae the best and it went well with the meat. The korean fried chicken wasn't bad and the hotteok was great to end with. The service was fast and they checked up on us even though it was pretty busy. The tables were a bit small though and I didn't think there was enough grill space for 5 people. I think it would be fine for 3 or 4 people.

The inside was vey inviting and tastefully decorated. We had the Beef Bulgogi Bao, this was really yummy. The bao was soft and delightful. The beef had a sweet bulgogi glaze that worked really well with it. The rest of the toppings added a nice balance without overpowering the meat. My only wish was that it was 4 baos and not two since they are so small. The highlight was the Firecracker Shrimp. Be warned this is not a spicy dish like you might think from the name. The crispy shrimp was crunchy and not soggy at all, it felt pretty clean and not greasy. It came with salad, rice and a spicy soy sauce and it was just so good. With 12 shrimp, it's definitely shareable between 2 people. Lastly we had the Vietnamese iced coffee which was $6. It tasted like Ovaltine and was mostly ice with just a few sips. I wouldn't recommend it unless the cup size is increased or the price is decreased. So overall, it's a bit pricey. The menu was also a little confusing. We checked online prior to coming and they had a lot of stuff but when at the restaurant, there were only a few items listed which caught us off guard. We actually ended up ordering the wrong item (firecracker shrimp when we actually wanted dynamite shrimp, ultimately it worked out cuz it was delicious but the problem still stands). So those are the only cons I can think off. Other than that, The place was fantastic. Did not think Hutto would have a place of this caliber. We will be back to try the rest of the items, it all looked so good. Definitely will be a repeat customer. 4.5 stars rounded up for now.

Loro is an Asian smokehouse and bar featuring grilled and smoked meats with Southeast Asian and Japanese-inspired sauces, sides, and a bar that boasts craft beer, boozy slushees, and batch cocktails. Parking at this location is a bit of a challenge. They have overflow parking in the back but the spots are really small. We sat at the bar area and worked our way through cocktails, apps, and dessert. We opened a tab and the bar staff takes your order which is convenient, versus how you normally have to order by waiting in line at the bar. The bar staff was extremely busy because they have to make all the cocktails and take the line orders at the bar. They are a master of multitasking. It was $3 martini night on Tuesday, so was excited to sample the four different drink options. lychee martini, Mexican martini, and Lucky Cat cosmo martini. Lychee martini is made with new amsterdam vodka, sake, elderflower, Mexican martini with espolon blanco, olive, yuzu, lime and cosmo with vodka, blood orange, naranja, lime. The lychee was hands down my favorite of the three. We started with the Dip Sampler that included a trifecta of smoked shishito queso, smoked salmon dip and Thai green salsa with the Siete blue corn tortilla chips. We went through the chips quickly and got a second round of wonton chips which I preferred to the Siete chips. Tried the Mango Chamoy frozen Slushee with Siete Chamoy Botana Sauce & Siete Chile Lime Seasoning Rim, passionfruit, Aperol, Sake and Sparkling Wine which was refreshing. All their boozy slushies are $5 during happy hour. Ordered the oak grilled edamame from the happy hour menu and it was a flavor explosion with a dusting of serracha powder, lemon zest and white sesame. For dinner, I ordered my go-to rice bowl with coconut-scented rice, seasonal pickles, thai herbs and steak as the protein. They normally served this with Bavette, but the steak was a bit tough and chewy this time. Finished everything off with cheesecake with five spice crumble, yuzu marmalade for dessert. The vibe at the bar was relaxed and lively without feeling overwhelming, and the collab menu felt creative without trying too hard. The ingredients are very thoughtful for a fully developed flavor profile. Just what I would expect from the culinary minds of Tyson Cole and Aaron Franklin. Definitely one of the regulars in my list when craving good cocktails with a casual but elevated food menu.

Chicken karaage was what you would expect, similar to what you get at Japanese places. Portions are big. The sesame rice noodles were highly reviewed but kinda underwhelming. Sauce was surprisingly spicy and the sesame flavor wasn't super obvious. We also tried the rendang beans and rice, which was a creative spin. But recently last year and this year, we notice there's been a change of sushi chef and now the sushi quality has fallen below standards. This is our third time with this same negative experiences (2 take out and 1 in person) and now this prompt this one star review. The problem with the sushi is the protein (fish) is cut so super thin. The picture I included does not show how incredibly thin and skimpy the fish is. It's like paper thin thickness and to the point I can not taste the salmon or eel at all. I know the food cost has increased and you need to save cost but skimping paper thin fish in sushi and charging $18-$20 a roll is such rip off. At this point I am paying for rice, sauce, avocado, seaweed, and labor to make the sushi. Especially when we know the sushi was not made like this before. The thickness of the fish used to be the proper thickness in sushi restaurant industry. Unfortunately we cannot longer recommend Iron Fish for this reason. Paying that amount for the star (fish) of the show to be barely there is simply not acceptable. I sure hope the owner takes this feedback and change things. You can see old pictures I've taken and posted for this business and compare it to the sushi now. There's visible difference. If things change, you know we will be happy to return and support.

It is a quaint little place, not too big of a space so luckily they did not have a wait when we went. I give it a five star review because of the sushi. The food for me was good, not the best like not great, but it does satisfy the Korean food craving. Presentation of dishes was so nice and fun, the sushi was on fire literally. They start you off with banchan-kimchi, macaroni, onions, and fish cake. It's standard, nothing outstanding, but they do give free refills! 1. Taimatsu Roll - My favorite dish we ordered. It's saucy and has a nice play on textures because of the crispy fried bits on top. It is stuffed with a sizeable piece of tuna and has a sweet mayo sauce. It is definitely more fusion leaning rather than traditional. 2. Dak-Galbi - A spicy chicken dish with sweet potato matchstick slices and rice cakes. There could be more rice cakes and flavor. It was not spicy at all, more of that sweet savory taste you get from gochujang based dishes. The chicken was super tender and there was a good amount! 3. Beef Rib Stew - This was a warming stew with glass noodles, it is a basic soup that is salty and peppery (some may think it's bland). It comes with a bone in beef rib that is fall off the bone tender! Overall, while the food wasn't the most outstanding, I would definitely come back to try other items (namely the sushi). I would also love to try the inari tofu pockets I see online (not sure if they still have that though since I don't think I saw that on the menu).
