Come for lunch when the BBQ is freshest. The meats fall off the bones. Don't let the shed ambiance scare you away. The service was soooo helpful. I came in near closing on a rainy night and they took extra time to make me a perfect plate. I even ordered an extra brisket sandwich to go which they took the time to trim the fat off if you desired. The meats definitely carried a strong unmistakable Smokey taste. The sauce was very peppery so you might want to sample that first before fully committing.

Happened upon this BBQ spot when I googled for food near me Manor. While standing in a short line to order, I saw plates of BBQ going by. The generous portions of meat and sides that looked great! I wasn't too hungry so I ordered the Sliced Brisket Sandwich. It was stacked with lean smoked beef. The brisket was slightly dry but the homemade sauce made up for it. I will try a plate next time

Still a favorite spot of mine in Manor. Elgin sausage never disappoints and the brisket was nice and juicy this week

Great service, good was a 8/10! The Big Red soda machine was stacked with top tier sodas!

If you find yourself in Manor, this is probably the best barbecue around. It is also probably the most rustic establishment as well. This establishment looks like a cobbled together shanty with a smoker out back. Once inside you'll notice the interior is much like the exterior. There are six tables to sit at in the small room where the walls are covered in old license plates. I guess you might say this rustic look only adds to the charm of the place, the locals seem to think so. They do have a gravel drive up window, which is what most people use. Barbecue is not the only thing they serve here. There is also fried chicken and catfish along with some daily specials. I do like the fact they offer a three meat combo plate instead of everything being à la cart. The brisket has a pronounced smoke ring, and they serve Meyers sausage which is tender and juicy. They also serve baby back ribs. The pinto beans and slaw are pretty average, but the green beans and corn are out of a can. I also recommend the fried chicken plate, it's something they actually do quite well. All the food here is surprisingly affordable considering what barbecue goes for these days. Be sure to get some of their barbecue sauce to go, it's some of the best around. And lastly, there's no tip screen, but there is a tip jar. The photos featured here will bring it into proper perspective.

Stopped here on a drive and ordered brisket sandwiches. They were really good, I would stop here again.

Back a month later, still a 5 star place in my book . I will definitely be back. Excellent bar b q very reasonable prices, what more could you want. Back a few more months and now they have beef ribs!!! Still 5 stars!!!

    Dry terrible food.

Place serves you old dry Brisket!! Terrible food no flavor just smoked. I went there 10 mins ago! Never again. Boooo... should be proud of your food given the. Competition around. Again place is terrible.

This BBQ was super affordable and there were plenty of choices for meats and sides and desserts. Let's start with the meat. Our party of two ordered 4 pork ribs, 1/2lb of brisket and 2 sausages. Let's go from worst to first. The sausage was dry and had zero flavor. We do not recommend. The ribs were decent, although also a bit dry. The brisket was also dry, but decent enough. good. The dryness can often be solved for with sauce, but the BBQ sauce here is seriously bad. If that's an in house recipe, they should go buy sauce commercially. The sides we ordered were mac and cheese, potato salad, and coleslaw. The mac was pretty good. They pepper it up here. Not an issue for us, but if you're not down for it, then avoid that side. The cole slaw was in need of more mayo. It's a theme here - the food is dry. The potato salad was solid. Let's get to the service. Nice guys manning the place and they were super welcoming. The vibe is roadhouse shack. We dig that sort of thing, so it was a plus for us. Price was incredibly inexpensive. For all that food, it was $39 and we left a tip. Bottom line for us is if this BBQ joint were in most any other state, most would dig it. But, we're in Texas, y'all. Gotta up your game.

I was really impressed with our meal! Everything was juicy delicious with the exception of the pork ribs. They were a tad dry.

Meat--The meat was on the dry side, but not too dry. The meat had a LOT of fat on it to be so dry. Still very good though, great flavor and great crust. Very tasty. Sauce-very good. Balanced sweet and tangy, not on the sweet side, really likes it. Sides-I got green beans, they were not from a can, field fresh, definitely not overcooked, might could use a little more cooking. Nicely seasoned but could use a little salt. I also got Mac n cheese and it was good, I've had better but it was a nice flavor and I got a piece of toasty crust which I like and it was good. We're human - shit happens, and mistakes are inevitable. But it's how people react that speaks volumes. **What surprised me was how unnecessarily rude the Mum employee was about it.** Orders are left on Mum's counter for DoorDash, Toast, Grubhub, and Seamless customers and delivery drivers to grab without a Mum employee checking order confirmation emails. If someone steals another customer's order, the *normal* response is to confirm I'm really the person who placed the order, then say "Oh sorry about that, looks like someone else took your order. We'll get you squared away with a replacement ASAP. In the meanwhile, could you please contact DoorDash to let them know?" ISSUE: Instead, the employee expediting orders was crazy defensive and rude about a situation that was no way my fault. TIMELINE: - I placed a pick up order via DoorDash at 12pm. I arrived at Mum's pickup area at 12:15pm. - When I tell the employee expediting orders my name, he says "Yeah, it was already picked up," and walks away. - When he returns, I explain I'm the person who placed the order, but I didn't pick it up. - The man says, "Like I SAID, it was already picked up," so I hold up the email on my phone, and say "I can prove I placed the order, but I don't have my food." - He replies, "Yeah, the order was sitting there for a long time. Someone already picked it up." - I tell him "I don't know what I'm supposed to do with this information. I paid for my order, but I don't have any food," and he tells me I need to contact DoorDash. - I tell him "I'll contact DoorDash, but they can only give me a refund. I'd like my food?" Only then does he tells the staff to get me a new order and tells me "LOOK, we're getting you your food." UPDATE: Mum Foods Management replied with a bizarre comment. Mum claimed I was 90 minutes late picking up my order, saying I picked up my order at 2pm. - So which is it? Someone stole my order OR was I too late picking it up? - Their rebuttal may explain why the employee felt justified in being so rude - he incorrectly thought I was late picking up my order. Either way, there's no reason to be rude. - I was NOT 90 minutes late (I have Ring footage of leaving my house at 12:10pm for Mum Foods and returning home at 12:37pm with my order in hand), but Mum's argument is moot either way. If I were hours late, the order should still be there for pick up because the business is supposed to check names. "A 1 star review really hurts a local business like us and I hope you reconsider" - If you don't want a 1 star review, respond with a sincere apology, and don't be rude to customers or lie in your response. "For what its worth we prepared your food twice and obviously lose money in a situation like that" - If you don't want to lose money by preparing an order twice, you should confirm names when people pick up orders.
