We rent a leaf blower every year for a reasonable price and the rental personnel go above and beyond helping me fit the blower on my back and provide everything I need. Equipment rental places in general make me feel sort of nervous, but I really loved visiting this equipment rental place. I had a small home project that required a big tool and I dropped in to see what I'd be able to rent. The man at the sales desk, Dennis, is a totally wonderful human being. Polite, patient, extremely helpful, very knowledgeable, and he totally did not make me feel like a dummy at all! General Equipment Rental - Machine & Tool Rental Near Me - Weaverville, North Carolina

My husband and I rented a mini excavator for two days. On the first day, the machine ran well for a few hours until one of the the pressure hoses busted. My husband said these type of hoses are under a lot of pressure and this is common. He loaded it up and took it back. The men at General swapped it out for a different one. The second machine ran a quarter of a tank of fuel then stalled out like it was empty. We called the company and they sent a mechanic to fix it. However, the mechanic said that this machine has been having this issue and to refill the tank and call back if that didn't fix it. We did as directed, it didn't help, so we called back. The mechanic came back to replace the fuel filter with no change. The company came to pick up the broken machine and delivered a third machine (on the 3rd day) this machine ran perfectly and there was no charge for the extra time. However, the entire job was a day behind and the whole thing was stressful. The employees were very nice and understanding but the company needs more dependable equipment. read more

Let me say that the tall beardy lead salesperson is the rudest ahole I've met in some time. I brought a chipper back in to the lot and he proceeded to yell at me regarding my bumper hitch. Said I wasn't "allowed" to pull the chipper with a bumper hitch. The salesperson I dealt with had not requested that I use another type hitch. Several people watching and listening, and was quite embarrassing. Also, the chipper cost over $200 bucks and was designed as a 6" chipper. The chipper wouldn't pull a 2" limb through. The rude salesperson said there's an adjustment screw but it was took off the machine to keep customers from using it. The salesperson totally refused to refund my money. There are several places in Asheville to rent equipment, Sun, Home Depot, etc. also in the North area in Mars Hill and Burnsville. I will drive the extra miles next time for sure. Worst customer service or experience I've had with a business in ages. read more
