General RV took all the fun out of buying a new Trailer! Had to drag my new trailer off the mountain 4 times to be fixed! Put me out but them their to busy to be put out for a customer! Solar controler Still not working! Now using the furnace my batteries die within 3 hrs..! Cant even get a handle for a cabinet! $45000 and not the least bit happy! read more

I visited General RV on two occasions. I purchase a Prime Time Tracer 230FBS and I'm completely satisfied. When I picked up the travel trailer, I was treated in a very professional manner. Everyone was super. I was escorted throughout the facilities while my new RV was washed and prepared for delivery. The entire travel trailer was explained to me in great detail. My tow vehicle (Ford F 250) was prepared and another tech completed aligned my truck with the trailer. They even adjusted the trailer brakes on my truck. My complete experience was "Over the TOP". Had a great salesmen who sold us the RV but have had nothing but problems and issues with the service department. Like many others have said on here, you get the run around from them and they tell you one thing but it never ends up that way! I have taken my motor-home in 3 times for the same repairs and each time either they didn't end up having the parts or they ordered the wrong part. So I have to go pickup my motor-home, drive home (because they don't have room to store it on their property) then reschedule to bring it back in. I have racked up more miles going back and forth for service then I should have. Would not recommend buying from here unless you never plan on using their service department! read more

Our experience at General RV was good up until we needed the repair department. It has been less than poor.

General RV is all sunshine and roses when it comes to purchasing their products. Don't get caught up in their "Keep You Camping" moto! We purchased a Forest River Wildwood brand new from them. First trip out the hot water heater did not work, the floor was bubbled, nails coming out of the wall, wood falling off the seats, the vent in the bathroom shattered. some issues fixed but not all. The trailer bounces like crazy when you walk across the floor. The axels went bad, worst of all the A frame broke while on a trip. We have only had it for one year. We took it in to be fixed on July 17, 2019 and they still have it two months later! We have missed the entire camping season. They don't care! They do not provide any rental or compensation of any kind! We have caught the service rep in more than one untruth. You can not depend on them or trust them. I would like my money back and start over, but you know how that goes! Well see if we ever get it back. in the mean time we are still making those wonderful payments for nothing!! read more

BUYER BEWARE!!!!!! This was the absolute worst place to buy a trailer. If I could've found our trailer ANYWHERE else I would've in a heart beat. They were helpful until the point that we found our trailer and paid the required deposit. As soon as they got our deposit everything went downhill, which really shows what kind of company they are. There was no communication. It took forever to get things done. Dan Saxey is the most unprofessional and shady finance person I've ever worked with. We decided to just pay cash for the trailer instead of using the finance options he provided because we didn't want to pay interest and he was the biggest jerk about it. So much attitude that we wouldn't finance with him when he should have been happy we were buying the trailer at all. To finish things off they messed up the paperwork and ran the numbers wrong. After we paid for it with a cashiers check they called me a day later and said they didn't collect the full agreed upon amount even though the check was printed for the amount the told me to. After reviewing the papers I authorized them to charge a set amount which they told me they needed. They took my card number and charged an UNAUTHORIZED amount that was much more. Completely ridiculous and unprofessional. I am currently talking with legal professionals about the best course of action regarding them charging me this unauthorized amount. read more

We got our dream trailer here at General RV. Quincy listened to our needs & wants. He took us right to the perfect trailer. We had just purchased our 1st trailer, a brand new smaller trailer, 6 months prior to "just looking" at General RV. After camping in it a few times, we realized it didn't meet our needs. Quincy was very knowledgeable & had history with other customers in our situation - buying too small of a trailer. We have camped more times than we ever expected to in our new comfy dream trailer. We have enjoyed every minute of it. We can't thank Quincy enough. The entire staff at General RV has been so friendly & helpful. We are newbies & they have been more than willing to help us out on all our questions. They have shared many helpful tips. Natalia has been amazing with getting our trailer into the shop for minor fixes & updates we wanted. She does a thorough walk thru with us & makes sure all our questions are answered before leaving the lot. Wow this place is a top notch, class act!. after going to an RV dealer in San Diego, where I live, and having a horrible experience, I found these folks via the internet, I spoke with Jeff, my salesman, who was incredible, kind, knowledgeable, and patient, as we went on the Rv buying process thru the phone, also the finance guy, TJ, another super kind, patient man, who helped us along thru the process . We drove to Draper Utah to pick up our new toy, and the folks at General Rv were terrific, they were all so nice, and real, no tricks, or games, just a true genuine, good experience, one that should have been all along. not to mention we saved 30thousand dollars by purchasing our Rv out of state! . I bought a Coachmen 21' freedom express blast 17BLSE from these folks about 8 weeks ago. I specifically asked them if they did RV detail and I was told yes which helped seal the deal for me and it's even mentioned as a service on their website. I came back from a recent trip two days ago and went to make an appt for a detail and was told they don't do that by the service dept. I was told "only on new RV's" which seems a bit pointless to me. I asked the service dept. to double check, so they took my number and said they would contact me. I'm guessing they just tossed it into the wastebin because I haven't heard back from them since. I've since found someone else to do the job but basically, the sales folks will tell you anything you want to hear to close the deal but don't expect any of it to be true. Unfortunately I have to keep bringing it back for service here but I won't be a return customer. I'm also going to look for another service dept as they made me feel terrible for trying to use a service I needed and is even listed on their website. Overall very disappointed with GeneralRV, I can't say I would recommend as they left me hanging on something simple. I now feel exposed if something more critical happens and don't feel comfortable depending on them. read more

We received excellent service with the purchase of a 2017 5th wheel. Robby in Utah orchestrated the sales process for us and was able to get us everything we asked for including pick up in Noth Canton as we drove back across country. We had to obtain last minute financing when we arrived upon finding there are no Bank of America bank branches in Ohio. Beth helped us through that process quickly. They installed our hitch, instructed us on the use of the hitch, jacks, appliances and everything else, let us bring our dogs in and even ordered lunch for us. In the end we were able to pick up the rig by the end of the day. I hope any required service goes as well. read more

I am extremely disappointed in how I was treated by General RV. We are in need of a roof replacement on our motorhome. It has been three weeks since my initial contact with the office. Pictures were sent and I have been waiting for a preliminary quote. After weekly calls to this company, I called this morning to check on the status of the quote. I was put through to a voicemail that stated the individual was out of the office until October 2nd.. Hmmm that was yesterday. Imagine that. I called back. My call was not answered and was immediately transferred to the same voicemail once again. I called back an hour later. You could tell when I started the conversation the receptionist recognized my voice and really didn't want to say anything. I have been extremely accommodating in waiting for them to get back to me. Never again. If I could rate them a -10 I would. Very pathetic for a company!!!!!! They may be good for small issues...definitely not a company that I will deal with!!!!!!!!! if there was a negative option thats what i would choose. i purchased a new 2016 motorhome from here and the service i have recieved after spending 100plus thousand for this has been the worst experience of my life! it trully amazes me that they are still in business after my experience. i could go on for ever about the poor service and the over priced labor or parts and excuses they give....one i will share they said a part they had to order , one day was $38.00 the next $139?? and would take a week...I found the part local had it to them in an hour for $26.99 i would not recomend this company to an enemy much less a friend. needless to say after they take your money....the love is over...and their true colors show! i dislike this company with a passion !!! read more

BEWARE of General RV. I took my trailer to them to have my water heater check valve replaced and to have my trailer winterized. While removing the check valve they broke my water tank. I had to pay for a new tank and all of the labor to change it out. So, instead of paying what should have been $300 dollars or so, I ended up having to pay $960. Before they started the work I was quoted $729. When I went to pick it up they told me that was just for the job on the tank and check valve. They added the cost of the winterization on to the price they quoted me. I don't think I should have had to pay for the tank and to have it installed when I am not the one who broke it. I don't think General RV treated me fairly and I told them I would never be back. The service department manager said, "Okay." I guess they don't need the business and are not willing to make things right. I suggest you not give them any of your business either. read more

NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM GENERAL RV. My 2 friends and I spent over 150k on brand new 40 ft 5th wheels. The first day we got it it rained over night I woke up soaking wet in bed because when the rv was built the a.c. unit missed the hole in the roof by 2". Broken shocks. Waterlines broke. Hydraulics broke and so much more.( all 3 Rvs had major issues.) GENERAL Rv never fixed any of it. I actually had to pay to have items fixed on my rv under warranty and what they did try to fix on my friends rv's was bandaids and hack type work. I also have about 6 more major warranty items GENERAL Rv never fixed. They Actually told us to get the pos out of their lot. After about a year and a half of countless phone calls and empty promises or no returned phone calls I wound up bringing it to camping world and they fixed everything no questions asked under warranty. General Rv did and said anything to get us to buy and then hung us out to dry when we need things fixed and this just happened my rv is a 2016. STAY AWAY FROM GENERAL RV. Was going to buy a camper they had for sale from a new sales woman there. We came to an agreement on the price when i was just about to go in the finance office she called my cell and told me it was sold. So I came home and two days later it was still for sale,she never called me and told me it was. i had somebody call about it and they talk to her and she told them it was still for sale. They didn't want to sell it to me for the agreed upon price so they told me it was sold and they tried to sell me another one while i was there. A new one. read more

I'd like to make this a zero if I could. I've waited a week to make this post about our experience with General RV in Draper, Utah to settle down a bit. We drove into General with no lights or heat inside the motorhome on Saturday. They put two technicians on it to diagnose the problem. After a couple hours they said the house batteries were frozen and needed to be replaced. The batteries were less than a year old and we had not been in any really cold temps but I know nothing about batteries so I told them to replace. They charged $199 per battery and said it would be 1/2 hour each to install a battery at $200 per hour shop time. The batteries did not solve the problem so they drove the motorhome into one of their shop bays to do more diagnosis. After several more hours they had not solved the problem. We said we wanted to stay in the motorhome so they were going to drive it out and we could park on the street for the night. EXCEPT the motorhome would not shift into gear and now could not be driven. So we got a hotel for Saturday and Sunday night and came back Monday to see what would be done. They worked on the motorhome all day and several times kept telling us they were making progress. They "worked" on it Monday "making progress" but finally said they could not fix it. The motorhome had to be pulled out of the shop by the tow company so it could hooked up and towed to a different company (Auto Motion in Sandy, Utah) who solved the problems in one day and got us back on the road. Their demeanor and actions were very unfriendly and lacked any compassion for a stranded motorist. I would strongly discourage anyone from going to this company for any service. read more

This was not the best experiance for camper repair we will not go back if we absolutely do not have to. The actual repair may have been done correctly but the end timeliness the lost camping with our daughter unacceptable. We really lost the whole summer. Our Camper is older but they are a service center for the brand. The discussions started long before camping season photos of vin plates and title and problems sent. No mistake what camper we had yet parts were not ordered. Phone calls never returned and I ended up tracking the service man down physically. I was on vacation last week was a response. I replied what about the previous month plus before your vacation. I was busy the service person responded. I am not mad upset or disgruntled I just know there is KARMA. read more

Made an appt. not long after the purchase to get the air conditioner charged and fix a bunch of things...called 8 days later and it was sitting in their storage lot with not one thing done on it. We purchased a Thor Ace 30.4 Motor Home and have had a poor experience when picking it up, they did not have anyone available that knew anything about the RV so no questions were answered. They made a list of all the problems and had us come back to fix them and the larger problems were not addressed with the promise they would be later, which is what they promised when we took delivery, and now I'm worried they never will be. I feel like we spent a lot of money with this company and they don't care about fixing anything after the sale is done. We were also promised another walk through with someone who knows the Ace and that did not happen again. We had it winterized and asked to see where the water heater bypass valves were and got the run around again, finally someone showed us but he said it looks like it hadn't been winterized at all because they looked the wrong way at first, then he checked with service and said it was done correctly so now we don't know if there is antifreeze in our water heater until we use it again next year. They don't seem to want to help the customer in service, almost like we are bothering them by bringing our business to them. read more

I bought a 2019 Grand Design Reflection from this dealer and drove from Arizona to Utah to pick it up. I picked it up in the am and it was snowing and wet outside. The unit was wet and could not see the outside surface of the unit and the associate did not do a outside inspection with us. I drove it home and washed the unit to put in the barn where I store my RV,s and upon drying the unit in the front was covered with minute little chips. I called the dealer and they implied I got those from driving home. I sent them pictures and also of my new ford F450 white dully which did not have a mark on it. They still would not do anything about it. The cost to me will be about 3000.00 dollars. I also paid for the coating on the unit to preserve the paint and they would not cover it either and I doubt if the dealer ever put it on anyway. If they did apply the sealer they would have noticed the chips. I WOULD NEVER BUY A UNIT FROM THIS DEALER AGAIN. Purchased 2018 Winnebago View took them about 3 weeks to deliver it. It wasn't very clean, the kitchen faucet wasn't attached to the counter top, One of the outside storage doors wouldn't stay closed had to tape it shut on the way home, paint had scratches, and the inner slide seal was out of place. More stuff needed corrected but mot enough room to mention. Winnebago called and asked us take it back for repairs, no way will General RV in North Canton see it again. I have bought 2 5th wheel trailers from them, and I cannot believe I did it the 2nd time. They will graciously and feverishly work any deal to sell you an RV. You need to check every single day for items promised at delivery or they will never happen and then suddenly nobody knows about them either. Get it in writing. But the biggest issue is their service. What a joke, I mean what service. I admit they are overwhelmed. There is no way the little service dept can keep up with the amount of RV's sold. But You cannot even get an appt to work on your trailer if you did not buy one there. If you need to order parts. It's not the cost of the part and tax you pay. After the fact when you show up to pick it up. Suddenly there is the shipping charge that they could not tell you about until it reached them, because they would not know the amount until they received it. So one item I had planned to get cost about $30 but when arrived, I found out that it cost over $180 for shipping. But on to other things. I have had to have warranty work done, which is a joke, If you take it on the scheduled date and then they verify that yes you need that item and they have to order it. You leave your RV for the duration of who knows how long it will take to arrive. (over a month I waited) or schedule another appt for another month or six weeks for the appt. But I also have another major issue. Damage that occurred in their possession they are now trying to say that I did it and acknowledged on the form when I left the trailer. However talking to the service Person John, and I stated that we never had any conversation about damage, he stated that it must have happen after I had left. And that he had put tape on the trailer marking the damage. Well then How could I have signed acknowledging the damage if it was all supposedly done after I left. Anyway, They are now trying to make me pay for it. And I really don't have a choice to take my trailer anywhere else in the state. So what do you? Deal with a dealership who will sell you an RV but hopes to never see you again. read more

We had a bad experience elsewhere and came to General with very little hope. Tim (sales manager) and John made this experience one to remember. Tim was able to work with us to help get a price we were looking for... A great deal. John was very knowledgeable on any camper we wanted to know about and also answered ALL of our questions very promptly via text, email, and phone calls even off of the clock. If it was possible to give 0 stars here would very much do so. They promise the world to you and don't seem to follow through nor do they care. We had found a fifth wheel that we were interested in, and was told when we went in to look at it after telling them that we wanted to go through with purchasing it. We were told by Mindy that it would have a thorough check for all valves, leaks, mechanical and they would fix everything that needed to be fixed as well as a full detailing on our camper. On Wednesday they contacted us and told us to come in on Friday to do a walk through and sign the papers and since we were having it delivered, they would follow us that day. Now I must mention that we do live in our camper to reach our aspirations of saving money. We went in on Friday, the guy they had show us around the camper knew nothing of anything in regards to it. They had not touched it as far as detailing goes. So we go in and sign all the papers, only for them to say they want to let a scent bomb and it must sit all night. Which since we do live in our camper, this has caused extra expenses to us having to get a hotel room for the night. We called the next day and were told that the delivery guy would be there by noonish. Also, did not happen. He finally shows up around 2 o'clock. Once we opened everything up we noticed not a damn thing was touched as far as the promised detailing we were supposed to receive. The motor in the awning does not work, it will go out, but does not retract back in. Oh wait...it gets better...also, the valve and the cable for the black water tank are broke. Also, all that was promised to be fixed. Now we are having to find a way to take our camper in to get fixed. They sent us a survey asking us about our experience and we were completely honest. Do you think they bothered to call us back? Absolutely not. Also, we tried reaching out to Mindy and never was able to get through. I would not let my worst enemy buy a camper from this place....THEY ARE THE WORST!!!! read more

I would have given 5 stars to sales but the service department was 1 maybe 2 . we had a great sales man and doing paper work was easy. But they charge $1,000 prep fee. What a joke they did half what they said. No batteries in detectors said their would. Sewer pipes had strap broke never replaced said they would had to beg them to put one one before I left. Iights out that said would be replaced and missing foot pad on jack. I had to buy and put on myself. Love the camper just wish you got what you paid for in prep fee. read more

In the beginning we really liked the General , we refereed everyone there, they gave us the best trade in value of anyone, but! now no way. Here is why THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT they no nothing about fixing rvs we have had are new fifth wheel in several times for the same problem each time they say its fixed and it wasn't, we were lied to several times by the service department about how its normal that your jack is not straight up and down the manufacturer said other wise and how you need to level the trailer before using the auto level the manufacturer laughed when we asked about that , we will never let the General rv center in Draper work on are trailer again. read more

Ok first off I did not want to buy from General RV. Do to other people that have had bad luck there. But they had the model of trailer that I wanted. So I went there on a Friday afternoon. Talked with a sales guy Note: He was nice older gentile man. And we went and looked at the trail I wanted. So I wanted to buy it. We worked the deal on the price which was fair. But I had a trade in, that they low balled me on. So I said that I would have to sell the trailer my self. Before I could buy the new one. So they said Ok they would hold it for Three weeks if I put down 2,000 non refundable cash. Well I got that down to 500.00. and the deal was made. So I put my trailer online for sale, at a good price and had it sold the next evening. I emailed my sales guy and told him that I would come in Monday. And sign the papers and give them my down payment. Here is were it gets upsetting. I showed up to sign for it and they had sold it. not kidding!!! And no apology for doing that none! They didn't care! They did not wait one day before selling my trailer. I was so mad. So they had one that had just come in they said. But it was missing things that the first trailer had on it. It was like bait a switch time. Than I got really mad. And told them that was not cool. And that I was thinking of walking on the deal. My sales guy went back and had a 15 min talk with the manager. Then they decided pull parts from other trailers to make mine the same as the first one. I was ok with that and the deal was made. Mind you still no apology. We purchased a New Open Range 36' trailer a year and a half ago with the pulley slide out system. We have had 3 of the 4 slide out gear boxes break gears in them. Our trailer has been sitting at General RV for most of the summer as each time we have gone out a different gear box has broken. And instead of just replacing them all at once, we have been inconvenienced in taking it there each time one breaks. The first time took 30 days to repair. 2nd time was almost two weeks. This time it has been 11 days and still not repaired. We were promised they would have it repaired for a trip with our extended family we originally were going to leave today. But pushed it back a day so they could get parts in and get it repaired (again) for our trip. Got called today telling us it was not going to be ready. An obvious defect in the slide out gear box! Buyers beware buying of this brand of trailer!! Manufacturer is not taking responsibility for an obvious defective gear box! We are totally regretting purchasing this trailer! read more

We just recently traded our motorhome in for a 2016 motorhome and we're very happy with our experience throughout the entire exchange. Greg, our salesman, was fantastic. Very patient with us and really worked with us to get us what we wanted within our budget. If you are interested in buying any type of RV ask for Greg Watkins, you will not be pressured and he will definitely help you find what you want. Next we dealt with Denise for the financing part and she was also very good to work with. Adam gave us our walk thru in our new coach on the day we picked it up and he was very thorough and answered all our questions. The store staff was also very friendly and helpful. We have had to make a couple of calls to ask a few questions and they were always answered promptly and correctly. I will update this review once we make our first trip in our new motorhome but I expect it to remain at 5 stars. read more

Bought a 84,000 dollar class c motor home. Made appt for warranty work the first year had three things on list kitchen faucet leaked, sliding door kept coming off of track, and DVD player never worked on outside TV from the time we picked it up. . Took motor home in on appt , they had it 3 weeks. They called and said to come and get it they ordered the part for the faucet would have to bring it back. On paperwork it said cable for TV DVD wasn't attached, they attached it. Received phone call faucet part was in but we owed $113.00 for them to attach cable for DVD player that never was attached when we bought it. When questioned about it was told they wouldn't fix the warranty work on faucet if we didn't pay the 113.00 for the cable being attached. ( cable was there just not screwed on) Very didsappointed with our service. This is the 2nd trailer we have bought from them , many more within the family. read more

Purchased a 2013 Thor ACE 30.1 Motor Coach. I traded in my 2006 Fourwinds class C. My experience was great from the moment I walked through the door. I didn't have to ask for a Sales person. I only wanted to look at some class A's that I had written down. My sales rep Mark H. was great. He was humorous, knowledgeable, and very courteous. Due to these conditions and the price was right, I found one that had just come in and decided to make my purchase the same day that I was there. The entire staff was so nice that my friend that was with me had his credit checked out so he could purchase him one as well. I didn't receive this type of welcome from one of their competitors. I had been to their competitor multiple times whether to get supplies or a minor repair. This was my first time ever going to General RV in North Canton, Ohio. If and when I decide to trade up later, General RV HERE I COME! read more
