Stay away from General RV. We were about to drive off the lot in our brand new RV when my husband noticed a crack in the windshield. General knew about this because it was in their notes, it stated they had received the RV from Thor with a cracked windshield. Orientation of the new RV was useless. The kid had no clue what type of diesel the vehicle needed. Had no clue how to work much of anything. The front of the vehicle was covered in nicks in the paint. The inside had not been cleaned. Someone had used the toilet, sawdust was in all of the drawers and the floor was littered with pieces of wire, dust and what looked like urine in front of the toilet. A light cover was missing and they have sent the wrong cover twice, we still don't have the right cover. Nightmare experience. read more

I would love to give this shady dealer 0 stars. The process to get our travel trailer was relatively easy. Our first camping trip revealed a stuck grey tank valve. It took several calls to get an appointment for the warranty work. Now, our trailer has been at their service department for two weeks. We were promised a phone call the Monday after we dropped of the trailer. We never received it. We have called several times. We have left three messages with our "service advisor" Kristin, and no one calls us back to tell us anything. Are parts ordered? We don't know. When will the service be done? We have no idea. Please, if you are wanting to buy an rv - run...do not walk...away from General RV. We will probably sell this unit and buy another just so we don't have to deal with this awful dealership. read more

One star is being very generous. I purchased my trailer from general rv back in May. I was so excited to use it and made plans for several trips. the first one being Memorial day weekend. The first night out camping I realized my black tank had a major leak. .... like I flushed the toilet and all of my shit went on the ground underneath the trailer. I ended my trip early because I needed it fixed. I called and called and called the service department in attempts to schedule a service appointment. NO ONE WOULD RETURN MY CALL. I called my sales rep who then contacted the service department. I did receive a call back from the service department and was told the soonest appointment I could get would be on August 2nd. I called the sales agent understansably upset. 3 weeks later..... and still A brand new trailer unusable. An employee finally came and took my trailer to General RV and said it would be ready to use in a couple of days. Great so I planned a trip the following week. days went by no follow up call, no return call. 2 days before my planned trip I called and I was told that they were not able to fix the black tank and they would have to order a new one. Now it is the end of June. Two weeks later..... sorry they sent the wrong black tank. We have to send it back and order another one. The correct tank arrived on Friday Aug 5th. I was called yesterday and told the trailer was ready. They assured me it was. I asked if they fixed the broken blinds (this I did request to be done when I made the appointment back in June. No one could answer me. Really you have had my trailer sitting there for 3 months and no one had time to fix the blinds!? I went to pick my trailer up today as I WAS TOLD THE BLACK TANK HAD BEEN FIXED. THE BLACK TANK WAS NOT FIXED. It was installed wrong. the end of the tank was 2 inches from the ground. The end of the tank was so low that if I raised the trailer up at all it would crush the drain. I was so upset and asked to speak to some one in charge. The person that came to speak to me tried to be nice but I could tell he was annoyed because by that time I was crying. I have never experienced service as poor as this. Summer is almost over. I am besides myself and am not sure what to do next. If you are thinking of buying a trailer from General RV, you might reconsider. Calls are not returned. I was passed around a never ending phone tree over and over again. The only person willing to help was the sales rep Loyal. Over and over again I am being told "it is not my fault." We bought a new Grand Design trailer from General RV at the end of 2021. We didn't take it out until the summer of 2022. We have had more problems in the first year with this trailer (which is a Grand Design issue) than we did in 10 years with our last trailer and General RV service department is TERRIBLE! Do not buy a trailer from these guys if you ever think you are going to need warranty repairs done by them. The first time we took it out the siding on one side started to come loose and bow. (Also the heater didn't work, the door wouldn't lock and all the lettering on the trailer started to peel off in the first 6 months) We took it in and they basically hammered it back in place, leaving it with a large dent in the side. We already had it home by the time we realized they just hammered it back in, instead of actually fixing it. It's such a pain to take it to them that we decided that as long as the issue was fixed we would deal with dent. We took it out this year and that same piece of siding started to bow and come loose. We took it in and they refused to fix it, even though the original "repair" and issue was within the warranty period. Natalia in their service department is condescending and basically told my husband he was lying. They told us their original repair is only good for 90 days - ya that's accurate, that's how long the "repair" lasted, since it was never really repaired!! She told my husband the repair would be too much, they would have to remove the window and repair from the top down- basically admitting they wouldn't fix it because it's too much of a hassle for them, which is what they just hammered it in the first time. My husband talked to their manager and he refused to do anything because of the "90 day warranty"- it's ridiculous! DO NOT USE GENERAL RV. read more

If I could give them less than one star I would. Their service department lacks professionalism as they will lie to you and You have to make multiple calls to get them to respond. They told us they weren't able to get parts for our RV and when my husband called the RV manufacturer they had date and time stamps where on two different occasions the manufacturer told them they had the parts. They never even got the price on one part to turn in a bid to insurance. They even called us and told us they "wouldn't lie to us" that they couldn't get the parts. I wouldn't take my RV there for them to even inflate the tires. I've never seen a business work so hard to drive customers away and go out of business. So I got on their website and made an inquiry about 5th wheel trailers I was interested in. A salesman contacted me by email and said "We received your trade application and I will be helping you get a value. I just have a couple of quick questions for you." * Are you currently working with another General RV Center salesperson? * What is your expectation of value on your trade? * Do you have a unit picked out that you would like to purchase (stock#)? I replied, "You are the first one to contact me. My expectation is to get the market value dollar for my trade in. No, I've been on your website and have favorites, I need to make a list and then come in and look at them" However I then sent him 2 or 3 more emails and finally gave up. FINALLY he sends me one back after my last one that I told him I'll take my business elsewhere. Then I get a sorry. It's not over, the sales manager sends me an email saying sorry the guy was not responding and asked me. "Are you still interested in the following: and listed the trailers I was interested in." I kindly replied, No thank you we purchased one elsewhere. SORRY I might have said that from the beginning but after 2 or 3 emails and no response! REALLY?? We were shopping for a new RV or Class C motor home. They only had brochures to show us. My wife asked the salesman a question about MPG on a Class C motor home. His response, "If you have to ask a question like that you don't want one of these." Frankly we bought a new one from a dealer in St George but found the salesman at General to be less than professional. I know 5 folks who bought RVs from General. Two of them said they had a great experience but 3 said they couldn't recommend them. I guess the bottom line is be very cautious in dealing with them. read more

I cannot say enough great things about our experience with General RV. Ray JR our salesman was upfront, blunt, honest, and gave great advice. I told him I would be by on a Saturday morning right when they opened to test drive the difference between a 5 speed and 6 speed transmission. Ray had both coaches waiting for me to take them out. He helped us find exactly what we were looking for. Robby was also incredible and really took care of us. Rhett in finance got us in and out very quickly, and got us a payment was lower than expected! Vaughn did a thorough walk through, and made sure the minor things we did spot would get taken care of. Took our Daybreak in for a small leak with the hydraulic fluid reservoir. Their customer service people never called with updates, we had to initiate every call to check the status and progress. We were told they had to order the part and it would take two weeks to receive it or they could have it specially built, and that would cost twice as much. We opted for the special part because of timing. When we went to pick up the coach we were told that "the levelers were not working" and we would need to leave it longer to figure out the issue. We opted to take it home and found levelers working fine, however, we still had the same leak we just paid $800+ to have repaired. My husband took the day off of work to take it back a second time to have them fix the leak correctly, they claim they didn't see a problem, back home it was still leaking. Called and complained to the Service Manager, he said email him pictures of the leak, which we did and he never got back to us. Initiating another call, they said we would have to come back again and leave the coach for a day or two so they could see the leak first hand. We refuse to take our motorhome back to these scammers. We warn anyone going in for repairs to beware of their so called service, they are out to take your money. read more

Don't have them install aftermarket parts on your RV because you'll end up having to repair or replace all of it. Waste of time and money. Tank heater pads fell off on the drive home and were installed in a very dangerous manner. Our slide topper is less than two years old and falling apart. Costco referred me to this dealer last year and due to COVID I assumed it was the pandemic. A week ago I visited the websites and chatted with someone who said someone would call me ,never did. 9/2/2020 I have called several different locations and the phone calls are dropped after they hear me speak. I am a person of color. The two sales persons I did speak with immediately stated that the unit I was looking at had a deposit. One salesperson took my name and number stated I will give you a call right back let me call another store ,no call. the other salesperson stated it was a deposit and stated he had another unit at another store. I pull it up on the web and the call drop. This is a Costco Dealer and in my opinion they dont want to give me the Costco price so they are blowing me off. hoping I will get the message and move on somewhere else. This happened when I bought my travel trailer no Costco Dealer would sell me a travel trailer I ended up paying the full price for the travel trailer. I have owned a travel trailer I had no problems with the travel trailers except the fact their is no where to hook up to or very limited. In my travels across the country the RV parks would be on some way off the beaten road or the ones closer in town would be full. I spent most of my time at truck stops and Walmart parking lots and city parks. When I finally found a RV park they put me next to the dumping station and every time the wind blow a foul stanch pass over. I paid $1200 dollars a month to stay at the RV park and was soon forced back into a house. Now I want to upgrade to a class b and they dont want to sell me a unit because I would not need any hook ups I can go travel freely. That's my opinion. After constant hang-ups and rejections I will build my own custom RV for less. There are many You Tubers who have built their RV for less and enjoy the freedom of traveling without the need for hookups. GENERAL RV this person of COLOR got your message loud and clear. read more

I purchased a Ford Coachman motorhome in 2015 from General RV. The differential went out while still in warranty. It was towed to Ford La Paz Mexico who was unable to repair it and unable to find parts. The unit was towed to San Diego Ford who also did a crap job and the unit rolls but has a bad vibration. Spoken with Ford and over 100 emails and no one is willing to step up and pay for the tow. General RV just blows me off and says to call General RV corporate. I came back to trade up and it has been a horrible experience. Two brand new RVs and neither can leave the lot. He was beyond rude to the point where my mom came home and said that she hopes my brother and I aren't rude to customers in our jobs like this boy was to them. Let's not forget that he automatically showed my parents used RV's, assuming that's what they wanted. Is it because it looked like they couldn't afford anything nice or expensive? And he got annoyed with them because they weren't buying anything. He told them that his time was "done" with them after figuring out that they weren't going to buy anything. THEY DIDN'T ASKED FOR YOUR HELP IN THE FIRST PLACE. I will be contacting their location/corporate/whatever they have to complain about the poor treatment. I'm really glad for that salesman's sake that I wasn't there because he wouldn't have gone home happy after me having a talk with him. Don't be rude and expect to have good customer service skills. Don't come here and save your time. Apparently from the other reviews, you'll save yourself a second visit coming to get your RV serviced and getting screwed over. read more

General RV lost a sale today because of their rude, condescending salesman. It was apparent that this guy was having attitude challenges when we stepped into his cubicle. He was snarky from the get-go about only having three used motor homes to show us. He didn't even come inside the used units with us; he sat outside in his golf cart messing with his phone. When my husband questioned him about not showing us anything else, he blew his top telling us that we were spreading COVID germs on all the surfaces of the units we had gone through without buying. (We were wearing masks.) He complained that he wouldn't get a customer for two more days. He acted irritated that we were even there. This guy needs some basic interpersonal skills, let alone some training in salesmanship! We opted to walk ourselves off the lot and won't ever be going back there. read more

Recently, on September 9, 2021 we purchased a Class A Holiday Rambler motorhome from General RV with a Ford chassis. We picked it up in Salt Lake City and within three hours the engine light was on and our nightmare began. Returning to Salt Lake City four days later and ending our 1st ever, 3 week vacation, we took the vehicle to a Ford service center. We have to rent a car and return home to Iowa. In the process of the vehicle being delivered to us in Iowa it breaks down, yet again. It was towed over 5 hrs. to 2 different Ford dealerships. In the process, the front and back panels were damaged by the tow companies. I also must mention here, the 20 item punchlist of defective parts on the interior of a holiday rambler. The 2021 RV that we purchased on September 9 is still not in our possession and now has over 3,300 miles on it. As you can imagine, by this point we have lost all current & future confidence in this vehicle. The poor/inept customer service and communication from General RV, Ford motor company and Rev group/ holiday rambler have left us extremely frustrated and disillusioned with all three of these companies. We have spent countless hours since September 9th on the phone with representative from these companies, endless hours tracking down information that no one else is providing us with, emailing, texting, journaling every detail of this nightmare, securing rental cars, hotel rooms, etc. trying to get this situation resolved and corrected. What was suppose to be an exciting time in our lives has turned out to be nothing but a headache and unending nightmare that is not yet over. It has been a six week battle and possibly another six weeks before repairs are complete. No one from any of these companies has been willing to offer us a resolution to this obvious lemon RV vehicle debacle. So disappointed in all three of these supposedly top rate companies. We have been purchasing Ford/Lincoln vehicles for over 30 years. No more! read more

We purchased a new Tiffin Allegro Bus from General in Draper, Utah in June 2019...we paid the dealer to install a Winegard Satellite dish on the roof...it malfunctioned from the first day...over this past year we paid repeatedly to get assistance in getting the dish to stow...even had Winegard send a new unit and paid to have it installed. No improvement. Returned to Tiffin factory to get it repaired...the original unit was discovered by Tiffin to be installed incorrectly by General. I asked for compensation from General for the lousy installation. I am disappointed in their unwillingness to take responsibility for improper workmanship. Just be aware. read more

We came in on a snowy day, thinking there was little chance we'd find the trailer we wanted. The receptionist was friendly and quickly found us a salesperson. Right away, Blake came up front and was eager and willing and with no hesitation, offered us a drink, grabbed his coat and took us out to see several trailers. We were looking for a 4 season RV and had already shopped the competition and didn't expect much. Blake was honest, telling us the pros and cons of each trailer, and the difference between the designs, specs and details of each. He was courteous, open to our questions and criticisms of each trailer (even if some of it was purely aesthetic stuff from my wife!) and wasn't pushy at all. He is really down to earth, kind and made sure we felt comfortable. We talked about things outside of trailers and RV's and connected, which felt much less "transactional". When we knew what we wanted, he went to bat for us with his sales manager and came up with a price that we didn't have to haggle on to feel comfortable with. Then, he made sure to get us a good price on the inspection, he even through in 2 free batteries and offered to fill up the propane tanks. Then the kicker - we live 1500 miles away were flying out the next day and wouldn't be back to pick up our trailer for over 3 weeks. We half expected we'd have to pay to store the trailer, find somewhere or ask if a family member could store it until we came back to pick it up. Nope, Blake went to work on that and made sure we were able to store our trailer at no cost! And one more thing... I decided I wanted to change to a different type of battery a couple of days later so I called him up and he made that so simple too. Honestly I couldn't have received a better experience. Hafin in finance was great as well, made sure that we understood everything and felt comfortable. Out trailer was an used Outdoors RV Wind River, which is a very well built model, but we ended up buying the extended 3 year warranty, even though I rarely buy warranties. Hafin convinced me, letting me know that it was possible to opt out of the warranty after the first year. I hope that's true, and he seemed very genuine and although some of the reviews on here are mixed, and I will report back if my experience sours when and if we have issues with the warranty or service after the sale but we had an excellent experience with General RV! Hafin was great, the receptionists are kind and welcoming, and Blake is PHENOMENAL! read more

General RV is legitimately one of the worst organizations I have had the displeasure of doing business with ever. The purchase process went relatively smooth but like others that is were it ended. After repeated issues with General RV's service department I have finally vowed never to return. The final straw for me was when I had them de-winterize our RV last year. It has been in storage since they had winterized the unit the prior fall. During the de-winterization they identities some leaks in the plumbing and informed me I must have winterized it incorrectly. When I told them they had done it they then said well you winterized to late and we can't guarantee the winterization. So, I paid for the repairs. When I went to pick the RV up I found that they had failed to complete other repairs I requested. So, I had to leave the unit with them longer. Once we finally got the unit back we packed up in preparation to travel to the beaches of Ca. While filling up the water tank I realize water was running everywhere and the inside of the RV was flooding. After cleaning the water up and trying to figure out what had happened I found that the hose from the outside of the RV into the water tank was disconnected (see photo). Once I connected the hose, I filled the water tank and turned on the pump and found water gushing out of the water heater on the outside of the RV. I opened up the water heat and found the drain plug (see photo) was left out. When I contacted General RV to tell them about this mistake and received a call back from there service manager. When I explained the issue he told me he would check and see if they had worked on those parts. He said he would do it the next day because it was past closing time and he was going home. When he finally did call me back he said it wasn't there fault. However, they are the only people that had ever worked on the unit. That was all I could take. Mistakes happen but the number of mistakes I have seen at General RV goes beyond mistakes and approaches gross incompetence. I will never go back and encourage others to do the same. read more

I purchased a 2022, 30' Coachman Apex travel trailer from General RV. We negotiated a fair price and up until the time we signed the purchase agreement and paid for it we were treated like royalty. I had just sold my motorhome so I was able to pay cash for the trailer. During the walk through there were some issues, for one, one of the cabinet doors had a broken hinge. Also one of the vent covers was missing. The salesman told us the hardware for the anti-sway bars and another bar, whose name eludes me right now, would be included when the trailer was delivered. Also the person doing the walk through kept trying to sell us extras that were not previously mentioned during the actual sale, which I thought was a grifter move. The trailer was delivered with none of the aforementioned items. The hinge was still broke, the vent cover was still missing, and there was no installed hardware for the anti-sway bars and other bar. After three weeks of waiting for the missing parts to arrive in the mail I called to see where the parts and my registration were. After 15 minutes, and being transferred to 3 different people, I was told the salesman would contact me that evening. He did not, instead, I received my registration the next day which had been over nighted. It has been about 2 months now and I have not heard word one from General RV about the missing parts. If your looking to just get a good price, that has to be negotiated by you, and don't care about getting corrective service after the sale, this is a good place for you. If you're looking for a long term relationship go elsewhere. read more

Terrible service in every way. I purchased a Grand Design Reflection travel trailer from General RV in Draper, UT. At the time of purchase, the technician found that the valves, all three, were not working properly and were extremely difficult to open/close. The service department completely replaced one of the three valves, and lubricated the other two. For the year that I have owned this trailer, I have taken it out approximately 5-6 times--the one valve that was replaced has never caused me any problems. However, the two valves that were not replaced have never worked right. They became more and more difficult to use. Because we were told at the time of purchase that it just needed to be lubricated, that is what we did , several times. Until the day came when they would not open at all. I made a service appointment with General RV Draper and was told BY A TECHNICIAN that once these valves become sticky and difficult to use they will continue to get worse until they do not work at all (which was exactly my experience). I was told to turn in a reimbursement request to Grand Design since I was just one month past warranty. Grand Design said that they had already reimbursed General RV for the repair of these valves back in April when I purchased the trailer, and because of that Grand Design would not reimburse me for the repair of the same parts--that it is General RV's responsibility to reimburse me. I proceeded to contact General RV once again and explained the situation. I got a brief email saying the manager will get back to me that day but it was been weeks and I've heard NOTHING. I've tried calling and sent multiple more emails but not a single person has even bothered to get back to me. These issues with the valves--the valves did not work properly from the start--were not repaired properly. General RV lubricated the 2 valves when they should have replaced them from the start (which is clear because the one they did replace works perfectly even now). It was not corrected properly and the repair failed--but I guess they figure if they never get back to me they are off the hook. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM--if you read through the reviews you will see the common theme of them not returning calls or emails and overcharging for repairs. You'd be better off going anywhere else. They do not stand by their products, repairs or sales and you will be left high and dry. read more

I haven't been RV shopping in a few years. I just visited General RV in Draper, UT to just check out the new Solitude 390RK. The receptionist was the first one I approached and was asked if I needed help. She had me a salesman lined up immediately. The salesman was just as enthusiastic about the brand and new design as I was! He never rushed me through anything. When we entered the office, he took down some of my information and brought it to the business manager. It took maybe 20 minutes to get all the figures with an estimated payment/down payment. Despite him getting a rock solid deal wrote up, I told him that I wasn't ready to buy today. We talked for a few more minutes about the coach, and the buying process. He didn't rush me out the door at all. I want to emphasize that I was never rushed, and the salesman knew a lot about their products they're selling. I left with a smile on my face, and plan on purchasing within the next six months. read more

Well apparently they have the option to remove bad reviews ... so I'll post again, and on every social media/review site known to man. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING from this dealership. I purchased a brand new Voltage and I've had nothing but problems. I scheduled several appointments only to let it sit there for months without any attention. To top it all off.. they damaged it TWICE while it was in the possession of their sorry excuse for a dealership. And denied doing this damage both times until the mechanic confessed to the damage. They submitted false claims to Keystone claiming they replaced my jacks, which did not get replaced. LED awning lights replaced twice because of the track coming unglued, so they charged me $300 for lights that already quit working . Sold me an extended warranty that covers exterior fading, which was a lie after contacting the company directly. I could go on and on here ... Simply dodge this dealership at all costs. Purchased a new rv recently from General RV in N Canton. Once, they received payment for the fifth-wheel, it has been almost impossible to reach anyone about concerns that we've had. Have been trying for two days to schedule an appointment with the service department to bring it in for some minor repairs covered under warranty. Once I was finally able to reach a person, I was told one of their service writers would call me back. I'm still waiting!! Would not recommend General RV Center in N Canton, Ohio. read more

I visited General RV on two occasions. I purchase a Prime Time Tracer 230FBS and I'm completely satisfied. When I picked up the travel trailer, I was treated in a very professional manner. Everyone was super. I was escorted throughout the facilities while my new RV was washed and prepared for delivery. The entire travel trailer was explained to me in great detail. My tow vehicle (Ford F 250) was prepared and another tech completed aligned my truck with the trailer. They even adjusted the trailer brakes on my truck. My complete experience was "Over the TOP". Very impressive. Since my purchase, I have had numerous correspondences with General RV thanking me and asking how everything is going. Great people. Thanks to everyone at General RV. read more

STEER CLEAR OF THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT! Aside from having one of the highest hourly labor rates on the planet at $199/ hour, they can't even follow that slap in the face with efficiency nor expertise. One estimated hour of diagnostics turned into 3. The upshot was a recommendation to replace a $1200 circuit board on a Hydro-hot unit. I suspected foul play after consulting Aqua-hot/Denver and seeing the symptoms didn't match the finding. I requested confirmation from General that their tech was factory trained by Aqua-hot, which they verbally confirmed though would provide no authentication. The dialog w/ the component manufacturer suggested the tech was not following standard diagnostic protocols to reach his conclusion. I said no thanks to the repair, ordered the parts elsewhere as recommended by Aqua-hot, and did the fix myself tutored by YouTube. The unit has worked flawlessly since. I approached General's management on the $570 diagnostic charge and the clearly incorrect recommendation to no avail. Their response was they stood by their initial stance and were committed to their belief that the part would fail sometime in the future. Duh. As it stood, their $1300 fix was avoided w/ a $100 tune-up kit and 3 hrs of my time. RV'ers friend indeed. I'll never go back to those crooks again. read more
