I had an excellent experience with General RV Center in Ft. Pierce purchasing a used Winnebago Class B sight unseen off a listing on their website. Called on Monday morning - spoke to Craig in sales - no sugarcoat, just a description of unit and what it needed to be perfect, which I had gleaned from photos and mainly involved detailing paint due previous owner did not know what wax was - made appointment to see on Weds as coming from out of state - had a 1 way rental car and was fully prepared to make it 2 way if unit or dealer did not match expectations. Arrived as planned, Craig was there and we viewed unit - just as described regarding cosmetic issues and it was completing pre delivery prep with service where they were going through everything per Operations Manager Mike, who ably answered a slew of technical questions. As part of their process the unit had a complete checkout of every system with subsequent repair of findings that included roof seals redone, an oil change, etc. which saved me from doing later along with a new propane tank precautionary. Went to talk with Mike the finance guy and completed transaction to purchase - he explained warranty contract options in a low key manner along with other things along a "keeping the customer informed" vs a pressure sales tactic which was appreciated. Worked with Travis over the phone in a Michigan office to set up insurance which beat my USAA add on to existing policy, utilizing not only that discount, but a bulk dealer rate - easy and again low key approach. Spent a good amount of time with Brandon who went over every system on the coach, ensuring I was comfortable and understood functionality. Finished all that up with transaction completed, unit sitting outside when Brent came up and asked if it was OK to delay my departure 45 minutes as they wanted to change the roof air conditioning unit as it did not seem to be cooling 100 percent - keep in mind that we had been in/out of the coach a dozen times with outside temp in the 90's and the transaction was completed - service tech subsequently installed a brand new roof unit. Yes this is a long review which didn't even cover everything, but my experience as a customer was outstanding. Every General RV Center employee I encountered from the front desk staff all the way through to management were personable and proficient. The company clearly exceeded my expectations purchasing a pre owned unit, doing things they didn't have to, which reflected integrity throughout. My 400 mile drive back home was serene, with the value of my purchase crystal clear due to the transparent pricing and their prep work - a 6 year old motor coach with 7800 miles (not even broken in) at the lowest price in the country for that particular model. So if you are looking at General RV reviews, of which there are some negative doozies, please know that this former FedEx Aircraft Maintenance Managing Director, found the Fort Pierce FL location to be extremely well run and would definitely look to do business with in the future! read more

I have to have my generator oil changed for my two year old winnebago , travado... I love their new location and it's very customer friendly... I waited while the work was being done and they were prompt and communicated well... I have to note that one of the service people Sam was very friendly and helpful.I appreciate that A few years ago I had them work with me on some warranty work , which was overall a good experience.... In April 2026, my Wife and I negotiated a purchase of a preowned RV from the general RV Center Fort Pierce location. Due to us living in New Jersey and the RV was in Florida we had to rely on photographs that were provided and negotiated the deal over the phone. I was assured that all mechanical systems would be in proper operational order and I was also assured that the tires would be inspected and if they were unsafe, they would also be replaced. I contacted General RV and made certain the RV was ready and to advised them that we were departing New Jersey. Five hours into the trip we were told there is a problem with the RV, and had to turn around costing us 10 hours of travel time. Approximately two weeks later, we were again advised that the RV was ready for pick up .We set up the closing date and headed to Florida, we were assured everything was inspected and operational. We drove 18 Hours straight to the dealership because I did not want to stop anywhere because I had my truckbed loaded with tools and personal possessions, and was afraid of theft. When we got there, I began to inspect the RV and found multiple mechanical issues to include the inverter not working roof seals missing the slide outs were inoperable and spewing hydraulic fluid, the undercarriage material was hanging down and the washer was not filling with water. The automatic leveling system was not operating properly. The hot water heater was not working and the dryer was not heating to temperature The tires were dry rotted and seven years old. In Florida, it is illegal to have to trailer tires over six years as per flhsmv.gov Since we could not close on the RV we had nowhere to stay so the dealership tried to accommodate us by putting us up in a hotel room in the middle of an industrial park that had multiple homeless people wandering the parking lot. Not feeling safe my wife and I were forced to cancel out the hotel room and make our own lodging arrangements. When that Monday came along, the repairs still could not be completed and we were advised that the RV would now be ready on Wednesday. On Tuesday evening we were contacted by the dealership and told we could close at 9:30 on Wednesday morning. When we arrived on Wednesday morning, multiple issues were still not addressed, and we were again forced to wait around the dealership while they struggle to make repairs. During this time we had the opportunity to speak to multiple other customers that were equally unhappy with the dealerships performance. As part of our agreement, the dealership was supposed to set up the fifth wheel conversion to my truck. This was also done incorrectly, which caused substantial damage to the bed rails of my truck. I had a horrible experience with this dealership because they lied to me when they said that everything was in good mechanical order when there was multiple significant Issues with the camper and they also lied when they said the tires were safe when they were obviously not safe and illegal to operate. Due to their incompetence, my vehicle is damaged. I voiced my concerns multiple times, but no offer of compensation was ever made. In the past, I had remotely purchased a preowned RV from camping world of Fort Myers. That deal under the same circumstances went through with no issues This was not the deal I negotiated. Instead of inspecting and correcting obvious, mechanical issues, they chose to see what they could sneak past us. I had to incur significant additional cost by replacing the tires and had to re-address multiple mechanical issues that they bubblegumed together to get the unit out the door. It also cost me five days of waiting around and changing all travel plans two times. This was a horrible purchasing experience. No attempt was ever made to compensate us and I will definitely not do business with this company again. If anybody else is considering them, all I can say is buyer beware!! read more

If you shop here, ask every question twice and insist that any important verbal promises be written down before you leave a deposit. We specifically asked whether our $2,000 deposit was refundable and believed the answer was yes. We later learned the dealership considered it non-refundable. Do Not Ever Go Here!!! These people are shady and will lie and cheat and give you faulty products. If I could give a negative star review I would. They claimed we were getting a new camper and instead delivered a very used camper with a meriad of problems that were never fixed after months of requesting. They damaged the camper in said timeframe of requesting repairs. And when reviewing the contract they wrote it in that they are allowed to do so. EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL. They lied to our faces and said they would fix the problems we brought up but never did. And they saw that the wrong stableizers were installed and said nothing which is a major safety hazard. I bought a brand new camper from General RV in Ft Pierce. I brought it home, and after it rained, I realized that water was leaking in through the ceiling panels, and the whole interior was soaked. I brought it back to General RV. After it sat in their service department for over three months, a service manager called me to tell me it still hadn't been fixed. I expressed concerns about mold growing, especially since the ceiling panels had been completely full of water, and he denied that there had ever been water in the ceiling panels. I have pictures and videos of water pouring out of the overhead light fixtures. I told them I wanted my money back but would walk away from it if they made me a reasonable offer. They gave me a lowball offer. The regional manager called me and told me that all campers have leaks in the ceiling, even brand new ones. It's still there, and I don't know what to do. I've reached out to their corporate customer service Camp Crew, and they've been no help. read more

Besides the endless problems we've had with General RV in Fort Pierce, the nightmare continues with their service department. Calling corporate is useless, and so is writing a review, but here we are. Since purchasing on 7/26, the refrigerator door they damaged on delivery day STILL hasn't been replaced. To make matters worse, when they attempted to install the second door, they damaged that one too. As of today, we still don't have a proper refrigerator door. On top of that, the black tank valve doesn't close. It was supposedly repaired during service, but guess what? It still doesn't work. At what point does anyone here take accountability? Purchased a 2024 new motorhome. Vehicle continues to have major issues. 18 so far, some are major issues. We left vehicle for 30 days to get them all resolved, came for pick up and service person states we were DENIED OUR WARRANTY CLAIM. We reached out to warranty company and General RV never applied for any of the needed parts. We purchased this vehicle less than 6 months ago. We call over and over and no one will reply. We email and no one will reply. We have talked to Steve and Scott who are managers for help. They won't call us back anymore or reply to emails. The operator Patty already knows our voice from calling daily trying to get help. We drive 3 hours up, 3 hours back for service for these issues. We've made this trip 6 times so far. After our recent stop in... they "fixed" a part and once we were almost home... it broke, again. This is their time with the same part. Now those replacement parts have not shown up and we can't get any information on when it will arrive or if it's even been ordered. Bottom line- they will call you quickly when you want to buy something but if there any issues, like my brand new one that continues to fall apart... they WILL NOT HELP YOU or call you back. read more

Less than 1 if I was able. I could tell you the whole long story of how my A/C unit went out twice in less than two years but let's skip all of that. Let me tell you how they dropped the ball both times! First time they said the tech quit and deleted all my info so I had to bring my rig back in months later and redo the data collection. It took months to have my unit replaced. I spent the whole summer without my airconditioner. It went bad again about 6 months later. I took it in January 2nd had all of the data collected. I called a few times over the next few weeks letting them know that GE still didn't have a warranty claim for me. They said it is GE's fault. Now it is the end of February. After calling the service advisor AND service manager (no answer and no call back) I went in today. I waited at least 30 minutes while Kevin (the service advisor) checked to see what was happening with my claim. He came back and told me they dropped the ball, they have nothing for me. He said he was sorry and there was nothing he could do. Never again will I deal with General RV. Did I say I bought my camper there too. They don't care about the customer. We bought our 2025 Brinkley RV through General RV. When we took it out the first time at Fort Wilderness campgrounds we met quite a few Brinkley owners. They all said the same thing about General RV Fort Pierce, they were terrible to deal with. They don't give you updates on the status of your RV repairs and they do sub standard work. We were hoping this experience would not be the same for us. We took our RV on a scheduled service appointment and we told them of some of the things that needed to be addressed with RV. We were told by the service manager that the repairs were made with all the issues except for a water leak. This was furthest from the truth. We found out that person who told us this (Scott) was fired for lying to customers about the repairs on their units. They told us the technician could not reproduce two of the issues on our unit. The front cargo door driver side did not stay closed after locking and the Lippert Auto Level was not coming back to lever. It was only after contacting Brinkley who reached out to General RV that we were told they were able to reproduce both issues. I would try to find another dealer that sells the RV you are buying. Coporate was useless in getting General RV Fort Pierce to return out calls. General RV Fort Pierce did nothing the first 10 days they had our unit even though we told them we had a trip planed one month later and we would loose our deposit of not repaired in time. They could care less. Try to find another place to purchase and repair your RV. We were hoping not to be like all the others we talked to about how bad The so called Family owned RV dealer treated their customers. We were in the same boat. read more

If I could do 0 stars I would. My RV was taken in on Oct 18th for a scheduled service appointment. On the 24th I drove to the facility because 5 voicemails were not returned regarding an update (we had a trip planned). On November 5th, I was told by Chelsea that they were having "difficulty getting the prices from Newmar". Knowing that this was likely BS, I called NEwmar directly with my advisor, Chelsea, in front of me. Newmar had received their first email that same day requesting a price. I asked if it was in stock knowing that would be the next excuse. And all parts were. So, they apologized and said they would get the parts ordered. On November 11th I went back to the facility after again, 3 calls not returned and was told "they did not know what Chelsea did with the warranty information" (even though she still works there) but that Casey now would take care of me. He assured me they would get this resolved. I picked up my coach as we had a scheduled trip but I asked Casey to please call me when the parts (in stock) arrive so I can bring the coach back for the repair. We left for our trip shortly after and have been gone for 13 days. No calls. So, I called 2 more times but could not leave a message as the voicemail was full and I could not leave a message for the operator because "they are not allowed to take messages." So finally, I decided to call my warranty company as they have to approve the parts. I just wanted to see if any contact had been made. As expected, none. From October 18th through December 2nd, General RV never even reached out to my warranty group to get approval for the repair. So in conclusion I have owned now my 5th RV. This is the first time EVER that I have complained to anyone. This is truly the most pathetic, irresponsible and inexcusable experience I have ever been a part of. I cannot speak on the sales side but service is horrible. And I feel sorry for the companies they are acquiring as some have great reputations and I am sure General will destroy those as they did in this case. PS. Theyn made me pay over 500 dollars up front even though my deductible is 100. When I questioned it, they gave it right back without any fight. Seems sketchy. read more

We went to General RV in Fort Pierce because they have great inventory on the Nexus brand and model of RV we want to upgrade to. Everyone we talked with was knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. We met with Salesperson Jason and asked if we could look at the Nexus Triumph 29T's. We looked at two, Jason answering all our questions and even called Brad at Nexus to make sure he was giving us correct information with one of the questions. We made our choice, discussed a deal with Jason who took it to Chris in Finance. We met with Chris who was very easy to talk, did not oversell on add-on's, and made sure we got the best interest rate. We told Chris we would call him with a date to close & pick-up the new RV. Next was Sammy, PI Manager. We ran over something on our way to the dealership which caused a flat tire. My Hubby was working on changing to the "donut" when Sammy came out with a hydraulic jack and insisted on changing the tire for us. He also told us that he would be the person to contact in the Service Dept. This dealership has an area for their customers to use in their new RV overnight. They are going to park our trade next to our new RV so that we can empty the old and fill the new...AND...With water and electric hook-ups...WOW! All-in-all, this had to be the BEST experience we have ever had in purchasing any type of vehicle. Even CocoPuff our Great Pyrenees wants to say, "Thank You General RV in Fort Pierce!
