I do not write reviews often, and do not write this lightly. This family practice is a complete waste of your time. An urgent care disguised as a family practice that rarely, if ever, let's you see a doctor (over 30 visits for my family), Generation's billing practices are a nightmare. Here's some examples: Step one: Charge the completely wrong insurance company. 3 months later get rejected by the wrong insurance carrier, gets it to correct BCBS organization, pays the partial. Step two: Generations sends invoice days later stating that the money owed is 90+ days overdue, that the next step is to send to collections and charge a 33% penalty. First invoice ever sent. Step three: When I call to pay, I am told that the words on the invoice, as well as it stating past due by 90 days, isn't true as its their first invoice. That they meant to send it to the wrong BCBS because "that's what we do in AZ, just submit it to AZ" even though the ID number, card, etc. all state the correct account information. No apology. No acknowledgement. Step four: Paid, informed them that after bringing our entire family to Generations for over 4 years, they have lost our business. Similar situations have happened with their billing department, from double charges, to failing to credit previous payments to correct accounts, etc. for years. And finally, no apology, acknowledgement, or even the bother for a phone call from the actual doctors after many issues and complaints. We hung in there as my family liked one of the practitioners, but clearly it's a bad practice. I do not recommend and hope for the sake of their patients that their practice is evaluated. read more

Do not recommend. I left before my initial visit due to 2 concerns: 1) they restrict you to only a NP. The MD is only available to those willing to pay $1600 cash. 2) their paperwork states they will charge $50 for each document the physician must sign on the patients behalf. Any office that supports a certain line of treatment should be willing to fight for coverage (Prior authorizations, appeals, letters of medical necessity) on your behalf without financial penalty to a patient. They told me "it doesn't happen *that* often, but our providers need to be compensated for their time". most insurance companies will require a pre-auth for 2nd+ line of therapy or medial services. read more

This place only cares about taking your money. Zero compassion. I came in very sick after not being able to find it at first. They took my copay then had me fill out a bunch of paperwork only to tell me that because I was three minutes late to my appointment that I had to reschedule. When I told them I wasn't interested they took my $35 copay saying now there was a late fee on top of it. I find it sad that they needed my money so badly and would lose a client over such a small amount. Zero compassion. I went across the street to the Fry's little clinic and got an appointment right away. No copay. Got the medicine I needed. I won't be coming back to Generations. If you are that busy and that greedy when someone is in need of help then you don't need my business. I'd rather have a doctor that cares. read more

Dr. Jones is very professional. He cares for his patients. He listens to the patient and does the best what's for you. I have been with him since 2016, he has helped me tremendously for all medical problems. He noticed that I had issues in my lower abdomen and I had an ultrasound done. I told me I needed to see an OBGYN. I needed a hysterectomy. read more

I rarely write reviews but I have never been treated so poorly. I have been going to Generations for years now. A month back they called saying I owed a fee for a no show appointment that I did not even schedule. There was no call reminding me of said appointment, nor did I get a call or anything in the mail after the fact until this call. The appointment was supposedly for JULY and they called me in NOVEMBER about it. Nothing in between times, except for an appointment I made and DID go to - yet this "no show" was never brought up when I was in the office. Now it is going to collections because I refuse to pay for an appointment I didn't schedule, and all they say is "we couldn't have scheduled it without you making the appointment." In YEARS of going here THIS is what happens. I will never go here again and would urge you to stay away too. What a joke! read more

Turn away as fast as you can. Run, don't walk. This "family practice" is more accurately a practice in taking money and charging fees in any and every way imaginable. Doctor? Yes his name is on the door and you can see him but that will really cost ya. Must pay an extra over $3000.00 - ANNUALLY! Yowza, that's right every year. I have been a patient of Dr. Jones for over 6 years. He reminds you of the old time doctors that were actually worried about you and had time to talk and get to know you. If you want the "doctor mill" experience, look elsewhere. He provides only personalized service with compassion and real concern and not the typical, "get them in and out as quickly as possible so we can make more money" approach. It is easy to forget that he is your doctor and not a friend. I am uninsured and pay cash and he provides full excellent care at affordable prices, nearly half of what I was paying for an office visit at other offices. Absolutely awful, they schedule you a follow up appt and will not call you to remind you(not their company policy according to receptionist) then bill you, cash your check, send you to collections, then play ignorant and refuse to help you. I am very happy with my nurse practioner lyndsay. I have been seeing her for a few years. Easy to schedule an appt. The front staff did change over (or at least one person) which was good because their were some billing mishaps for me charging my old insurance when clearly new was given. But she is gone. Lyndsay is professional, listens and wants the best for your health. Her assistant is very nice and she is always on time. read more

I went in for my daughters wellness checkup and flu shot. When confirming my appointment over the phone, the office lady recommended that I get the whole family up to date on flu shots since we were going to be there anyways. "Wow, great idea" I thought. Well it's been a month since that visit and am being charged an office visit since my son and I just went in for a flu shot?! You gotta be kidding me. I've never been charged to get a flu shot none the less to be recommended to make the appointment with them from the office lady. This place hides their fees and are very deceitful. I've been a patient for almost 7 years and found the care excellent and it was so comforting to know I had a good family doctor with caring staff. Dr Jones is a very nice man with good clinical skills. Unfortunately the caring about patients has changed and now the focus seems to be caring more about money. I made an appointment for a surgical clearance on a Friday afternoon for Monday at 7:40am and when I showed up they said it was at 7am. They had no confirmation receipt of the time so the receptionist told me she would re-schedule me for 1:20pm. It turned out I still needed confirmation from my surgeon on dates, so they told me to call back and cancel if the date was not set. The surgeon's office calls me back at noon and could not schedule surgery so I call Generations and cancel the 1:20pm appointment - just they way they told me to. Then later I get a call from the office manager (the doctor's wife) saying I owed additional out of pocket fees of $120 for FOUR no-show appointments. Turns out clearance appointments are actually 2 appointments for a total of 40 minutes with the doctor. (When was the last time a physician spent 40 minutes straight in an appointment with you?) The new 2018 policy, that I did sign, stated that you have to pay for no-show appointments but says nothing about one appointment being two, misunderstanding about a scheduled time (they had no confirmation) and following their directions for rescheduling and cancelling. I felt like I was set up to fail here - I'm racking up penalty fees for following their direction and they change the rules I know nothing about. I tried to explain to the office manager (doctor's wife) and she became aggressive and accusatory to the point of bullying. It was like trying to talk to a know it all teenager who thinks they are always right - exasperating. Told me "we run a business and YOU are causing us to lose money". Now I've been a good paying customer for 7 years, I've referred people, don't have a history of no-shows but now I'm a deadbeat. I've been a Registered Nurse for 35 years in ICU and know something about being responsible. There was no concern for me and how I was facing surgery in a few days - they just wanted those new policy no-show fees. Office manager (doctor's wife) told me I was not treating Dr Jones fairly but she did say she would reduce the 4 no-show fees to one and was doing me a "favor" since I had a contracted obligation to pay the fees by signing their 2018 policy. (Read the reviews below from Dierdre, James & Jenny B- same kind of experience with the office/manager/wife). Dr Jones also left me a message about a week later completely backing up his office manager/wife and added that they had gone back into my file and saw over the years I did have "one prior no-show". Also said something about "listening to a conversation" and knows that I'm not truthful which I found a bit creepy and odd. I felt like a criminal and the police were reviewing my prior offenses. I don't remember not showing up but it could have happened - been going to them for 7 years with no major issues till now. Also, I legitimately thought my original appointment was at 7:40am (I showed up) but it could have been a misunderstanding (on either end) and yes, I could be wrong. I was very upset finding out I needed surgery and called Generations right after getting this news - perhaps I misheard what was said. But is this how you want to be treated as a patient? Neither Dr Jones or his office manger/wife understood the situation other than I was a no show. They did not understand a patient could be given or misunderstand a time (with no confirmation). They did not understand their office giving me direction and my following it was not me creating a problem. (Actually here, to be truthful, Dr Jones said it was not because I cancelled but I cancelled too late - but, his office never gave me a time to cancel by AND how could I know when the surgeon would get back to me?). They did not understand how being treated like this could cause someone to be upset. They did mention their new "policy" and "causing us to lose money" several times though. Now I have to find a new physician, have surgery and wait to see what they decide to actually bill me. Sounds like my $30-$120 is a real show stopper and big investigation. My mother (who was also a patient) and I gave them much more than that over the years and my business to come would be more than $120. The smart choice (to me) would be look the big picture, not focus on perceived mistakes and act so militantly towards customers. It's very disheartening to see this kind of behavior from a doctor's office. Generations Family Practice should have a new motto: We care more about your money than you and your health problems! I agree that they are a business and obviously need to make money but you don't need to make your customers feel that's all your after - that's not good business. read more

We have been patients of Dr. Jones since before he opened his own practice. He has seen us through many issues, including my wife's breast cancer and a couple bouts of pneumonia . Unfortunately for us, he is evolving his practice into "Concierge Medicine," meaning enhanced services to only about 400 patients, for a charge of $1,650 per person annually. (Not covered by insurance) We have no doubt of the value of the enhanced services offered, but at $3,300 annually, (per couple) on top of Medicare charges of more than $2,400 a year, it is a service we cannot afford. He's a wonderful physician and no doubt will serve his wealthier patients well. We feel as if we've lost a good friend in addition to an exceptional doctor. We wish him well...pete read more

I have been seeing Dr. Jones for 18 years. He saved my life when I got a P.E. from a knee surgery. Dr. Jones and Lani took such good care of me during my time of need. They never rushed me always listened to me and gave good advice. Lani has always done a GREAT job drawing my blood for lab work as she has never left a bruise on me. Now there is a wonderful practitioner working with him named Heather. She totally ROCKS! She listens to everything you have to say is extremely thorough and truly cares about every patient. She treats you as a person not a paycheck. My husband and kiddos love how fast we can get in to be seen when we aren't feeling well and the kids always love seeing Lani. Regardless of anything and everything you'll not find a better family practice weather it be Dr. Jones or his P A's. Just believe me they are the best. He diagnosed my chronic simple sore throat and had me go a step further just to be on the safe side and have tests ran, sure enough it was base tongue stage 4 cancer, had he sluffed it off I'd be long dead. They are thorough and professional and go the extra mile to insure the best health care you can get. Wish I could give 0 stars. This place went from a great general practice to a commercialized dump. The office or perhaps "doctor" has zero regard for its patients and it's policies have all come around to one thing only.....money. To start your restricted to a NP unless you pay an annual cash amount to be seen by Dr. Jones (I believe it's around $1,000). Next, they'll require a deposit for you to see a NP if you happen to miss one of your co-pays. It's not their fault that I didn't receive a notice but the fact that they treat you like a criminal while refusing to treat without a deposit is ridiculous. My wife and I were using Dr Jones office for 8 years and just moved on to another Doctor because of the new elite private policy. We are on a fixed income and the $ 3,400.00 dollars a year just to be seen by a doctor is way over the top . What Generations family practice has become is no more then an urgent care center dispensing medications with limited testing to ensure safe consumption. We didn't have knowledge of the new policies until we needed the doctor's help and couldn't see Dr.Jones because we didn't qualify . Money talks so this family walks. read more

As you may notice, this is a drastic downgrade on our previous review. Unfortunately, my husband and I are leaving Dr. Jones' practice. To our disgust and dismay, he has decided to become a MDVIP or concierge doctor, and we just don't have the extra $3,000 to pay him on top of our already obscene medical expenses for what amounts to relatively minimal additional services. I guess he now only wishes to see affluent patients despite having taken an oath to help all in medical need regardless of circumstance. I know there are a lot of problems in our country's health care delivery system, but selecting patients solely on ability to pay large sums out of pocket and abandoning all others, even many longterm patients like ourselves, is only going to make the situation worse. Of course, if a doctor's only motive is maximizing the money, it may have its appeal regardless of how many patients it hurts. read more

I was a patient of another NP that worked there. I was never contacted from the office that she left. I booked an appointment with next available option for RX refill. I was running late to appointment and called 15 Mins prior to appointment and advised them I would be there soon. I arrived 1 min before appointment and staff member, stepped away to ask Dr if they could still take me and they stated yes. When staff came back a few minutes later to their desk to check me in the clock on computer stated I was late for my appointment and said they could not take me. Asked for a manager and No one was available to assist. There were no other patients in the lobby waiting. They charge ne $50.00 for a no-show appointment that I did show on time to. I wont pay it. Its unprofessional and not right. I was unable to get my RX refill on time and had to go with out while trying to find another doctor. Medically it wasn't right. read more

Very very disappointed. I called and made well visits for my daughters. I let them know that in a week I would be without insurance. When I arrived they told me they were out of the vaccines that my girls needed. So I explained, again, my insurance issue. But they assured me that because it was their fault that when They received the vaccines I could bring them in and it would be apart of their well visit. I asked them several times to make sure this would happen and they reassured me again. So the next week when the vaccines were there , my husband brought them in and guess what!?!?, They proceeded to tell my husband that we did Not have insurance and we would need to pay out of pocket for their vaccines. Needless to say, my husband turned around and walked out. I was so upset and called them and tried to get through to them what they had told me. They continued to say that since we didnt have insurance that we would have to pay. They finally said that Kim, there finance person, would call me and see if they could work something out. Well, no surprise at all--KIM, their wonderful finance person has never called me. Nice! This isnt the first time they have screwed things up. I won't go there again. Don't get me wrong, Dr. Jones is awesome, along with the NP and other staff he has there EXCEPT for his wife, Kim. At first everyone was so helpful and nice to my children and I but then I was having financial issues and she sure flipped her script on me. Harassed me with "legal" advise that she has no business talking about and when I tried telling her that I was at work in the middle of the store and could no longer speak on this issue she got even madder. A Few days after that call, I received a letter signed by HER saying that I was terminated from their care and office. Even if I got an apology from her, I would not go back. read more

I've been coming to this practice since I moved to Arizona 6 years ago. Love Dr Jones! Then was working at a different doc's office so I was just seen at work if needed. My doc sold his practice so I started back at Generations and I'm SO glad I did!!! I saw Heather Smith, NP and couldn't be happier! She listens, she's caring, and I appreciate her feedback. I have cried on her shoulder when I wasn't feeling well, vented when my teenaged twin boys were annoying me, and I love love love the fact that she's a NP-being a nurse myself, she appreciates my input regarding my care. After I had a sour experience several months ago, I have to say every office experience has been very pleasant. All office staff are very nice. I still absolutely adore Heather Smith who is the nurse practitioner. I have recently sent other friends and family to see Heather and they to are very pleased with the atmosphere changes. It's nice to know they took a complaint and concern regarding an unpleasant experience and turned it around. I highly recommend Generations Family Practice. I have been a patient there for a few months and although I have not seen Dr Jones personally, his Nurse Practioner Jenny Holliday is amazing. The office staff is horrible though not very friendly, espeically Kimberly. She has no manners and is VERY rude. It's like she does not have a filter on her mouth and she doesn't think before she speaks and it all comes off very nasty. If it was not for Kimberly and the other girl who works the desk, I would stay with them. read more

If you have the option to choose a different practitioner, I would highly recommend you do so. This office used to be great, but a little over a year ago they made some changes to their providers and the way they run their practice and now all they care about is money - not the patients. In the last few months we have had several poor experiences, including rushed visits, with a nurse practitioner actually telling me "we're very busy today, we're getting everyone in and out as quickly as we can." My son, who was very ill, and I were in the examine room for less than 3 minutes. Unbelievable. They also hold patients hostage from daily medication they need and make you come in for needless appointments just so they can collect a co-pay and bill your insurance before approving an normal refill. If they did a full year refill like all other offices, this wouldn't even be an issue. There are several other Family Practice's in SE Gilbert, I would recommend you choose someone other than Generations Family Practice. read more

Went here for about 18 months. Everything was fine until they had to do something besides a routine checkup. I needed blood work done and I had to call over and over to get results. I had a second round of blood work and the same thing happened. You have to keep calling to find out your results. Then you are delivered your results by a member of the front desk staff. Yes, the front desk staff who has zero medical training. Ask to speak with a provider and you will get a sarcastic response of, "the doctor isn't sitting here waiting on calls." I don't think it's too much to ask for, at least, the nurse to call with results so they can explain them properly. After all this I was told they really don't treat my symptoms and I need to go to another doctor. Would have been nice to have been told this upfront before I paid for office visit, 2 rounds of blood work and wasted 3 weeks. I'm disappointed because I did like them at first but their responsiveness and the professionalism of the front desk staff is severely lacking. My family will be changing providers. read more
