In August 2025, I signed a contract with Generator Supercenter in Homewood, Alabama and paid the required $4,350 deposit. After the payment was collected, all communication stopped. Despite multiple attempts to contact the company, I received no meaningful response or progress on the project. During my efforts to resolve the issue, I discovered that this was not an isolated incident. I became aware of more than 30 other homeowners who reported experiencing similar situations with this location. I escalated the matter to the parent company in Tomball, Texas. Initially, they acknowledged the situation and indicated they would honor or address my deposit. However, after several weeks of communication, they stopped responding entirely, and I have not received any resolution. As of May 2026, nearly nine months later, I do not have a generator, and my deposit has not been recovered. I also contacted Generac, the equipment manufacturer, to seek assistance. They stated they were unable to intervene in disputes with independent dealers and did not offer a path toward resolution. This has been a very costly and frustrating experience. Buyer Beware! This company is not trustworthy. They sold us 2 Generac Systems, one for our house in the city and one for our rural house. Everything was fine until we went to turn on our Sprinkler system and turns out they had severed 10 of the 11 wires. When we brought this to their attention they said that they wouldn't pay for the repair because we had signed a "Landscaping clause". To us landscaping is Grass, Trees Shrubs - not the Sprinkler System. Who would sign something that said "Hey do any kind of damage in our yard, we don't care - you gave us $250 discount for it!!" They did offer give us 2 Surge Protectors and 1 year of maintenance on each unit. They told us when we purchased the units that we didn't need the secondary surge protector because the unit had one in it and they had already given us a year of maintenance free on each unit because we purchased 2. Sleazy sales practices by the Management (Caden), the sales guy Demarco was great. Don't purchase from them! Clearly they don't really care about the customer. They let shoddy people work on your installation and you can't be sure how it will turn out! read more

The installation was good to a point. The gas line from the main to the house to the generator was installed improperly and a valve broke causing a major gas leak. When the plumber came out to repair it he had to change out several pieces of pipe to get the valve to fit properly and not be under strain and have a possible second valve break and gas leak. We got a bill from CenterPoint energy for the gas that leaked out for a total of $996.50. we Believe generator supercenter should pay for the gas leak. The leak was not our fault we did nothing to cause the valve to break it was improper installation by the generator supercenter installation crew. When I called generator supercenter about the gas bill they said they would have to review the situation. read more

All sales poor service. Monthly monitoring not worth the money. The one time my power has gone out generator failed to come on. I had a maintenance contract with Generator Supercenter at the time and could not get anyone on hotline number. Finally, after hours I got ahold of a representative. They could not correct the problem that night. Later, when I asked exactly what am I paying this monthly service bill if my machine fails to run dnd you guys fail to answer and respond? We bought a generator back in July of 2025 and finally had it installed in February of 2026. We have solar panels and was told that we needed and electrician to hook the panels back up for a cost and that we could do it ourselves or have generator supercenter do it and include that fee in with the price of the generator. That is what we opted for. Well they installed the generator and the install crew waited hours for TNMP to come back and turn the electricity back onto the house and inspect the install,mine you the guy from TNMP came out that to do that but the install didn't happen yet. TNMP came out a few days later to inspect and the generator failed inspection. Install crew came back out fixed it and it passed inspection. Now we needed to get the electrician to come out and hook the solar panels back up. Well, it's been over a month ! My electric bills are not what I am use to during the winter months. I called our representative Dale Moehnke about the issue and he told me he will be calling some people to see what is going on and that he will be getting back with me. Long story short, the last phone call I had with him he told me that it was his fault because he didn't know better, that we were responsible for the hire of an electrician and that he should not have charge us the fee for the solar panel reconnection and since they did charge us and we paid that they will assume responsibility . He had assured me he would take care of this and see it through. That call was Thursday of last week and neither me nor my husband have heard anything on the situation. My next step is another call and the call after that will be to a lawyer. I feel I have been more than reasonable with the timeline to be able for Generator Supercenter to rectify things and get back to us! read more

A generator is one of the things you purchase for your home that you don't think about till it doesn't work when you need it. We have had our whole home generator about a year and all systems checked out working well till we got notice on the app that the system needed to be checked. We had our Residential Combo 24kW Generac installed on 12/2/25. Abouts 3 months in it developed a significant oil leak. They felt like it was the rear main seal and sent Simon one of thier Senior Ttechnicians to replace the seal. He got the motor out and inspected the old seal and it looked like it was in good condition, but to be safe he went ahead and replaced it. Once reassembled it was still leaking, but not from the newly replaced rear main seal. Simon was great. He went over the engine inside and out to see where it was leaking and ultimately felt it was comming from the inside possibly due to a factory install issue. It was handed over to Madysen in the Waranty division and what a ray of sunshine she was. She sent Lane out to talk with homeoffice from onsite to answer any questins they may have. Within a few days she and Lane had a new engine ordered and within a week it was all installed and we'e already had a two hour electrical outage and it perforned like a champ and no oil leaks. All of this just to say that Gererac Supercenter not only performs with excelllence from sale through install but they also perform after the sale with warranty and repairs. read more

Installers had to be pulled the first day due to rain and the two photos of them peeing in my backyard. Second crew installation, put the regulator on backwards and upon owner start up, the unit would not run. Manager took the courtesy to return my call and offered me a discount for the situation as well as her apologies for the unprofessionalism. Owners training was late on the day scheduled and after all of these issues, the owner of generator supercenter still has not contacted me with a phone call. The maintenance after installation has been excellent. The installation was rated a one-star, it took 4 attempts to finally have it running correctly and this 5 Star rating is in response to the monitor service indicating low gas pressure. However, this is another example of the "missed" issues with the installation crews, there were many. However, the Tech that came for this low gas pressure alert, caught it immediately - good job. read more

Generator Supercenter is without a doubt the worst company I've ever dealt with. I've shared my story below and take a few minutes to read other low rated reviews. They all clearly demonstrate that Generator Supercenter is an incredibly poorly run company with zero focus on their customers. I recommend that no one do any business with Generator Supercenter. After being on their backlog for 6 months for a generator installation, a crew came out and reassessed the job at my house. Over the next 3 months, I would call them a couple of times a week for an update and the person working my project was never available and never returned my calls. I was finally able to speak with someone after weeks of calling, and I was told they "have decided not to move forward with my project". I had to ask for a reason and they said "the job is too complicated". I asked for clarification and the person I was speaking with couldn't even explain what was complicated about my project. I don't think they were even familiar with the details of my project. So I paid my $7,500 deposit to Generator Supercenter in February, waited 6 months for my date, spent the next 3 months being ignored by them, only to be told they are cancelling my project after 9 months of waiting. They offered little explanation for their decision, refused to let me speak with the General Manager, Owner or anyone else and offered me no restitution. I had to call several times over the next several weeks to get my refund processed. During that time, I was told 3 different dates that the refund had been submitted. Clearly they either didn't know what they were talking about, or misrepresented things to me. I ultimately had to call Costco to get them to call Generator Supercenter to process my refund. You should consider these questions if you're thinking about doing business with Generator Supercenter: 1. If an installation that I've had several other companies say they can do for the same price is too complicated for Generator Supercenter, can you trust them to do an even standard quality installation for you? 2. Do you want to wait 9 months, only to be told they've decided not to move forward with your project? You'll be going through another hurricane season without a generator. 3. Do you want thousands of dollars tied up while you wait to have your project cancelled, with no offer of interest or any restitution for not having those funds available to you during those months? 4. Do you want to waste your time repeatedly calling them to get an update on your project? A customer-oriented company would be proactively keeping you updated. 5. Do you want to have to continually call to get the refund that is due to you? 6. With their lack of customer-focus, can you expect them to be helpful or responsive after your project is done and paid for? Following my experience with Generator Supercenter, I spoke with some other generator companies and they said my experience with Generator Supercenter is not uncommon from what they have heard from others customers that came to them after having a terrible experience with Generator Supercenter. I also contacted Costco to file a complaint and recommended they drop Generator Supercenter as a supplier because the quality and service from Generator Supercenter is negatively impacting the Costco brand and reputation. Save yourself a lot of frustration and wasted time and choose another company. read more

EDIT: THE METAL STRAPS THAT HOLD THE GENERATOR IN PLACE HAVE ALREADY RUSTED IN LESS THAN A YEAR!!! You can't find my account, but you sure can find that credit card on file to charge every month! If I could leave negative stars I would. The entire process has been very stressful and lacking communication. They didn't call before digging and cut our internet wire. My yard has been left in shambles for over 2 weeks. They claim they can not fill in the trenches for another week, and it is totally a muddy mess. Access to my back yard is restricted due to the mountains of mud and dirt. They then blame the weather and when I asked why they didn't wait until the weather was better they deflect the blame onto me saying that I could have rescheduled. How was i supposed to know that I could have rescheduled. It took them almost 4 months to get out here to install. Also, the lack of communication is unacceptable. After repeated calls and unanswered emails I finally get some answers by calling a different department. They NEVER returned any of my calls and NEVER answered emails. After install we had a gas leak and it was not addressed for 2 days. This entire process has been beyond stressful. What should have been a time of assurance was a time of uncertainty. I simply can not wait another week for them to come back and fill in the trenches and will be doing it myself. I have contractors working on the back of my home on hold because they are unable to access the back yard and dogs that are rolling in mud and dirt piles.
