Everything was above and beyond what we expected, especially when the other company that we contacted before Wired said "next week" on even coming out. So I'll copy and paste my original review here, with the addition of Sarah in it. saac and Skyler did a complete repair of an circuit breaker box that had been all but torn loosed from the pole it was mounted on. Ans was the phone contact who set up the appointment for the work to be done. Fast, professional, friendly service from everyone at this company. Not counting the miles that they traveled to get to this job. It cost more than I hoped it would but also could have cost triple if they hadn't been able to repair the box. Greg, Issac,Emilio , Nathan, Jo Jo and Nick really did an incredible job replacing the main power cable to my house, which was breached, lots of digging and moving plants and they cleaned everything up and got the whole job done in one day. Great guys to work with felt very comfortable, they worked so hard. I picked them all at burgers... It was a high dollar price tag but Wall worth every penny knowing it was Done Right! This is a $5700 job! And the whole crew was very good with my partner who's retired at home all day and they actually entertain him for a while while they're busy working... Wired installed my Generac generator about 6 months ago and it was due for its 6 month inspection. I set the appointment up for today and was pleased with the work. Marshall, Wired's technician, called about 30 minutes before arriving and explained the inspection steps. He performed the inspection, did some fluid changes and cleaned up the area nicely. We have used them for a few years now. They are professional, prompt, knowledgeable and transparent. Every member of the team has a great attitude and it seems like they really like their jobs. I was using the company that I bought my generator from and they had become a total fail. When I called Generac headquarters, and asked for a referral, they directed me to Wired because they had received such great feedback from customers about their service. They consistently deliver a great experience at a competitive price. I will continue to use them and definitely recommend. I also needed a battery replacement, which I had anticipated. I was quoted a $169 fee to have my breaker checked. The technician was an hour late and then they tried to add a fuel/trip surcharge, a 'misc' fee and a 4% cc processing fee to my invoice of which none were disclosed at the time I booked the appt. The technician tried to tell me the initial phone call was recorded so I didn't have a leg to stand on. When I challenged him, he called his office and then confessed that the hidden charges are not disclosed at the time the appt is booked. He waived all of those extra charges but how unethical to try and extort extra fees from customers. I do NOT recommend using a company that thinks this a good way to conduct business! read more

I had an estimator come out and give me an estimate for a whole house GENERAC generator. When I called the office about paying for this. the girl that answered the phone told me that they didn't handle that and that I had to go through the estimator to pay for this. Awful. Was told that they were available 24/7 for my generator and that they have a lot of techs and are a large company so I had them do my maintenance on my 1 year old generator. Then Beryl happened. Couldn't reach them for 2 weeks after trying to get them via phone and website and social media. Had issues with my generator before we got power back and needed help asap. I realize it was busy but I received a call literally 4 weeks after the hurricane telling me I was scheduled for a service appointment 4 days later. Another company, who hadn't received a dime from us up to that point came out quickly and fixed our issue. I need a company I can count on in an emergency. A. GENERAC INSTALLATION; DO YOUR RESEARCH & SHOP DEALERS Firstly, I want to give credit where credit is due. My 2 stars are exclusively for the Wired Electric crew who does the manual part of generator installation. Kudos to them all; Mason, Greg, Jacob, the digging crew, and everyone else who installed, moved, and reinstalled my Generac when it was moved to a safe location. They were all truly kind, professional, and did a fantastic job. Here are the condensed facts of my story. My main purpose in posting this is to prevent this from happening to anyone else. I own a nice old frame house that is on blocks and has a crawlspace all around. I entrusted Wired Electric to install it in a safe location. I was ignorant of the fact that an 18KW Generac could ever emit carbon monoxide into my home. May 29th our area had a bad storm that knocked out power for 3 days, therefore my generator ran for a continuous period (for the 1st time) for 12 hours. At that point, my CO alarm went off. Thinking it was just the battery, I changed it and went back to bed. (this was 12:30 am) The alarm sounded again about 2 minutes later, so I went outside and called 911 and the fire department came. My house had a 54 PPM reading so we had to evacuate and turn off the generator. The firefighters informed me they had seen this scenario before, and that the fumes were hitting the wall of my house and going underneath through the crawlspace. After speaking with the owner, I was told I would have to pay to have it moved a few feet out and turn the fume side towards the road. I was completely shocked by the owner's attitude and comments. I then felt the need to contact Generac directly, which I did. The location of the generator had three strikes against it; distance, alcove, 3 ft. from an opening (crawlspace; see photo) Only because of my case file and discussions with Generac, I was then offered 2 choices; 1 to move a short distance and turn free of charge; 2 to move to my 2nd choice of spots in my yard much further away. My preferred choice was not an option. I naturally chose the free option but was extremely uncomfortable and worried it would not be safe there. Neither Generac nor Wired will guarantee that. I had to wait for 9 weeks. Consequently, I lost food and had to leave my home during Beryl, while my 11-month-old 18kw generator sat idle. After much discussion over the phone on the scheduled day of the move, I agreed to pay a discounted amount to move to my actual preferred location. Despite the cost, I would then have peace of mind, believing that was the safest and best decision. I do completely understand and very much appreciate how much time and manpower it takes for installation, but the bottom line is that I would have gladly paid the extra cost up front when I purchased it in Sept. 2023. Again, I trusted that it was being put in a safe place. The unit should never have been installed in the original spot. In conclusion, I hope that customers do extensive research on the actual placement of their generator prior to purchase, regarding their particular home. In addition, having two carbon monoxide detectors is essential. I am very blessed to still be here to submit this review. Needless to say, this whole experience has been very eye opening and stressful. Think more than twice about choosing your Generac dealer. read more

Zero stars. 8k for a generator that when you really need it, vents carbon monoxide into your house because it was placed incorrectly. My family ended up in the er for 9 hours with carbon monoxide poisoning that would have killed us in our sleep if we didn't have a detector. We have no power because of a hurricane (5 days now)and have to leave the windows open because otherwise all the alarms go off. It is currently 90 degrees in my house. No response after many, many calls.Avoid at all costs. read more

Was quoted $249 on the phone for an annual service. After the tech did the work, he said there is an additional $25.59 fuel service charge and $5.85 material removal fee to take away the old oil. He said something like "They have all these other charges they don't tell you about". My security camera recorded him saying that. I called on the phone and the woman who answered admitted they tell people one price on the phone and charge them something different when they arrived. I recorded that call too. Yelp does not have a way to post audio recordings though. They also quoted a senior citizen discount on the phone of something like 5% percent. When the tech gave us the bill, the discount was only 1% percent or less. They did offer to give us a discount if we post a review online. I have a feeling they won't honor that either. read more

This is definitely the most expensive electrical service company. I was charged 189.00 for a circuit breaker that costs 55.00 at Home Depot. Also charged 160.00 just to come out and do a 15 min job. I would not recommend using them....save your money. GET EDUCATED ON PRICING BEFORE YOU DO BUSINESS WITH THEM. Edit: I called this company out and their response was that they markup parts. I asked him if 200% was normal and he didn't know what to say. They DID try to resolve my issue by the following means which is highly unethical and quite frankly shady. The gentleman in the office told me if I go to the store and purchase the breaker and drop it by their office then he would refund me the money for the overcharge. In addition I would have to change my Yelp rating to a better review or delete it. I was not about to waste gas, time, and to be threatened with changing my Yelp review to get $100 back. Stay Away! Spend your money elsewhere. I chose this company because of the good reviews at that time (which have significantly declined) and the participation in the Better Business Bureau rating. I was willing to pay the $2000 above other estimates so that I could have an uneventful generator installation. Unfortunately, that was not the case at all. There was a failure to communicate. I was unaware that it would require three different visits to my home to get the generator installed. I was never told that I needed a CenterPoint meter upgrade until after the day of installation which required an additional delay. The interesting part is although they do not call you to provide updates, when you call and leave messages on the service no one returns your call. When you call and ask to speak to a manager, the manager does not return the call. I called so many times that I was finally able to get to a manager who claimed he only handled one portion of the installation (electrical) and every piece of the process is coordinated by a different person so you get conflicting information from everyone you speak with. There is not one person that can explain the entire process. Also, they are rude and appear to be inconvenienced by the fact that you called. Keep in mind, that you would not have to call if they were providing updates and gave accurate information. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Wired! Choose someone else to install your generator. You can get it cheaper, and the service has to be better. read more

My elderly mother had to have the main electric line to her home replaced. She used Wired to replace it since that is whom she bought the generator thru. The sales man cam out promptly and gave her an estimate around $2500. It took 5 days to get everything up and running. The generator worked wonderfully while she waited for power to be restored. My mother mother requested to have Wired to come out and verify that the generator would run correctly prior to release of payment. Today there was a scheduled power outages that occurred and the generator took longer to kick in. When she called to see when a technician would be out to check the unit as per her request when the electric line was replaced she was told that since she has an outstanding bill she couldn't be scheduled for any service. She reminded them that she was holding payment to insure that the work was completed properly ( which is well within her rights to do so). She was also informed that it would be 2 weeks before they could send a tech out once she paid the bill in full . The gentleman on the phone stated " DONT BE SELFISH SOME PEOPLE ARE STILL WITHOUT POWER" Well I'm sure those "SOME PEOPLE " didn't pay you over 2 grand for a repair that isn't 100% fixed since there was a delay and loss of power to the AC. I initially was not going to make a review as I was hoping that the company would have better customer service. I scheduled a service on 09/12/24. In which I requested my generator to be serviced. Granted the technician that came out was pleasant. He was at my home under 30 minutes. Prior to him leaving he explained what I would need and that per the invoice I would need a quote to have wires replaced. Due to the influx of the company installing generators after Hurricane Berryl I was informed that I would have a quote by the following Tuesday. That never happened. I sent emails on 09/23/24 asking for clarification, I called the company they provided a different email in which I reached back out on 10/30/24 as I never received a follow up call. On 11/5/24 followed up with another email. I called on the same date as well in which they realized the company dropped the ball. A message was left on my phone that someone will be coming back out the following date to measure the wires. That visit never happened. I called back approximately a week later only to find the receptionist that left me the prior voice message no longer worked for the company and another date was set up. 12/4/24 I received a call for a technician in which I was informed that they were at my home which i replied via text that was not the date that I agreed on. However I gave permission for them to access my backyard to get the measurements. In which they replied they would look. I never heard back from the company. I chose them as they had done prior service on the generator. This is a poor way to handle business. read more

Tommy, the owner, is a piece of work. We had a tech come out to troubleshoot an issue in the kitchen where we couldn't get power. The breaker was flipping due to the fridge drawing too much power on a 15A breaker. What turned out to be something so trivial as swapping the 15A to 20A, they wanted to charge $600+ for two separate days they had to come out. The first day they came out they swapped out two GFCI outlets that the tech deemed "faulty", which wasn't the case. Shortly after the tech left, the power went out in the kitchen again. Tech came back the second time and mentioned to us that we'll forget about the first day since he did not fix anything. We even had to tell the tech try swapping out the 15A to a 20A (a friend who does electrical work advised us to mention this to the tech) and that solved the issue we were having. They were trying to charge us the first day with 1.5 hours of troubleshooting/labor and another 1 hour the next day. There is no reasoning with a scam artist such as Tommy. Clearly the tech told us one thing and then you have this piece of work telling us he has to charge for the time the tech was out here not fixing anything (lol). Furthermore, the same tech who came out twice parked his van pretty far away from the house when he could've simply parked right next to the entrance to the house. He would saunter back and forth to his van and to the house to milk the clock, which was so petty. We would not have minded paying $600+ if they had provided honest and legitimate work instead of causing more issues with putting in GFCI outlets which they have for $60+ per outlet that didn't even resolve the issue! The best part is their invoices which had a lot of inconsistencies and the owner, Tommy, aka piece of work, had to adjust it so many times to fit his narrative. We still ended up paying around $400-$500 for a breaker swap basically. There is no reasoning with this man as he seems quite ignorant from speaking with him over the phone. He is also condescending saying things like "R U AN ELECTRICIAN?". Like, bro, you're the one trying to charge people $600+ for over something trivial as swapping out a breaker? Mind you that this house is owned by my father (retired Vietnam war Veteran and a professor) and he said things like "I'm going to put a lien on your house" to him. How small minded do you have to be to threaten someone such as my dad like that when you're the one trying to rip us off. My dad already suffers from PTSD and this guy with his small brain trying to threaten him. Like I said, real piece of work. I will be reporting this business to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. read more

I was looking for someone to preform maintenance on my home generator and came across wired. When I called to get a quote the young lady on the phone was very polite and got me scheduled as soon as they had an opening, which was about 4 days. The only issue was that I was scheduled for 9-12 and they showed up after 5. When I called to check up, they said my appointment was from 1-4, but that was not the time I was originally given. Unfortunately no one called to tell me my time was updated. The technician came and did amazing work and all ended well, so I can't complain too much. Just make sure you take off a whole day of work in case they don't show up on time. read more

When I called them (30 minutes after the appointment time) to ask where the service repair person was, I was told: "Oh, yeah, I see you were on the schedule on Monday and we had to reschedule you, but the lady forgot to put you on the schedule today." I had a service call today to fix my generator. The power went out in the area and my generator started running but I wasn't getting any power to my home. The company sent out Michael Najar. Let me tell you, this technician is the best! He spent 2 hours problem solving trying to fix my issue. During the entire time he had the most wonderful personality and positive attitude. He did everything in his power to find a solution to my generator issue. It is very rare that you run across a person with such great work ethics. You could just tell that he was a honest, very competent and hard-working individual. Not only did he fix my issue but he educated me the entire time on everything that he was doing. He was very patient and did not have an issue with explaining to me what he was doing and why he was doing it. This technician was one of the most professional technicians I have had come out to the house to fix anything. I highly recommend this company due to this technician. I'm not sure about their other technicians but if you need someone to come out and take care of you and be professional and honest,call this company and ask for Michael Najar to assist you. On Wired's first service call (8/16) they failed to tighten the oil filter causing gallons of cheap Malaysian oil to gush out making a huge mess. It's now 9/6 and the mess is still here! They sent me a kid that didn't know what he was doing. He spent 6 hours doing all kinds of 'tests'. He charged me $600 to 'diagnose' my problem, and the diagnosis was wrong. After many conversations with this company, they finally sent me a seasoned electrician weeks later, who fixed the problem in 10 mins. It was a loose connection in a plug. They didn't offer any apologies and wouldn't refund any of my money. This should have been a $150 job. read more
