I'm writing this review to share our experience with Azores so other homeowners can make an…read moreinformed decision. We hired Azores for two bathroom remodels. While the tile work turned out nicely, our overall experience raised serious concerns about their knowledge of basic construction, plumbing, and building-code requirements. The plumbing work was particularly concerning. Two drains were installed using flexible accordion tubing and improper trap configurations. When we raised our concerns, the contractor admitted they sometimes improperly install drains, stating that "usually no one cares." They first proposed fixing the issue with an S-trap, which is also not to code. These issues should have been addressed during planning , especially since the vanity cabinet was one of the first items we ordered through them. The framing work was another major concern. Azores agreed to install recessed mirrors and shampoo niches but planned to cut through existing wall studs without properly addressing the structural framing. The contractor told us that "usually people don't care about their studs being cut" and admitted they did not know there were building codes for this type of work. We ultimately had to properly frame two of the recessed mirrors ourselves because we were not comfortable with their approach. Most disappointing was their response. Rather than taking responsibility for these issues, Azores is charging us additional money to correct problems resulting from their own planning and workmanship. A nice tile finish does not make up for inadequate plumbing, framing, and code knowledge. We recommend that homeowners carefully evaluate Azores' trade expertise before hiring them.
