A part of ROC history. The brewery and restaurant over look the falls and downtown skyline. You can tour the brewery, enjoy a meal and beverage in the restaurant and purchase Genesee merch and beverages in the extensive gift shop. The view of the falls from the outdoor seating is a must in warmer months. Friendly service but bring your patience during the busier times. They have a thorough list for anyone with food allergies or sensitivities as well!

Came here while visiting family in my hometown of Rochester... They love this place and I can see why!! Great location! Lots of parking! Very industrial vibe- High Falls and the bridge... such a cool place! Our server was awesome! Very nice, attentive and gave great suggestions! Everyone was super happy with their food! And beers!! The Oktoberfest was a hit! Loved the pretzel appetizer with the dipping sauces! One of their signature items! And they make a killer Ruben! The views are great especially while dining on the patio upstairs! Highly recommend! Hope to come back someday!

Absolutely 5/5 and a place they everyone needs to visit. This is for beer lovers and sober folks alike! I am not much of a beer drinker but I was stopping in for a flight tasting and to get a chance to have the cranberry orange beer which is a new release and comeback for this fall! It's available on tap and does not even taste like beer. It's a very light flavor of beer but deep cran orange flavors and perfect for fall! The best past of my visit was the food by far. The Nashville chicken sandwich was the best chicken sandwich I ever had! It was crispy, but also very sauce and hot! Perfectly cooked and prepared and it was nicely served with coleslaw and pickles. Please order this!!! The beer cheese was also very tasty. It was delicious with the pretzels but pro tip: dip your fries in there! So good. Homemade blue cheese is also some of the best flavored blue cheese I've had in the Buffalo/Rochester area! Loved everything here!

We were in town visiting for a wedding. We were recommended to visit this place from the person working at the ballpark gift shop. We loved this place. We were in town for 5 days and visited 3different times. It was super convenient and had so much to offer. Every beer we had was great. The 12 horse brew was great and was exclusive to the location. As far as food, the beef on weck and jagerschnitzer were amazing. I even had a salad and it was large and delish. Also make sure you visit the huge merchandise shop on the main floor. They have tons of great merch. Next time we are visiting, we will definitely be stopping back in.

If not for the view and the beautiful day, this might not be your dining choice. However, if it was some friends looking to hang out and enjoy a cocktail with a beautiful view this is your place. My colleague and I came for lunch as it was close to the ballpark. He had the chicken wrap, and I had the AHI salad. The chicken wrap was your typical wrap, The Ahi salad was OK. The salad had your typical greens with crispy onions, radish, carrots, with goat cheese served, and wasabi vinaigrette. The Ahi tuna was a decent size. Come for the view, come for the comfort, but not necessarily rush for the food.

I always love coming here especially around the holidays to see the keg tree lit up! It's an easy drive from Buffalo and gives you something to do on the weekend and the beer tastes way better drinking it while at the brewery that is making it! The food is always good, the views overlooking the falls are beautiful and bonus that you also can shop for merch in the downstairs while you wait for your table. The merch is so creative and I love seeing all the new options each time we visit.

Tried the orange honey cream ale, ruby red kölsch, and chocolate scotch ale - all veryyy solid, but the ruby red kölsch was easily the standout. Crisp, refreshing, and just the right hint of fruity. Gf said this might be the best beer she's ever had and honestly, she might be onto something. The space has a fun, low-key vibe with a wide range of options and a cool setup behind the bar. Definitely worth a visit if you're in Rochester. Pro tip: Don't skip the rooftop patio. It gives you an amazing view of the Genesee River and High Falls, one of the few urban waterfalls in the U.S. with serious history - this area powered Rochester's early flour mills and helped it earn the nickname "Flour City." Nothing like sipping a cold beer while overlooking a literal waterfall that helped build a whole city. One cool detail is that there's a color scale of beer hues painted along the walls as you head upstairs; my girlfriend thought that was such a clever touch!

So normally I don't believe in ties, but I have a hard time deciding which was better, my beef on weck or my Genny Cream Ale. Living in the south, I don't get a chance to enjoy either usually. On a serious note, great service and the atmosphere of the brew house is fantastic. A "must do" when in Rochester.

Really liked my experience with this place, the food was good but not exceptional, but your really here for the beer and the view anyway. Service was efficient and friendly, they accommodated every request. Beer was of surprising quality and dont forget to check out the merch in the store on the first floor. Very deep assortment-of Genesee swag.

This is a long-overdue review from my visit to Rochester back in June. I'm not sure why, but the disappointment I felt over those fish tacos still lingers when I think of this spot. It surprises me when a bar messes up something as simple as fish tacos. I don't think the fish was even fried, which left the texture less than ideal for tacos, and the sauce didn't do them any justice either. There's a reason why mahi mahi isn't that popular to be used as fish tacos, probably the texture. Just a heads-up if anyone is thinking of trying the fish tacos here. That said, don't get me wrong, the salad and the bite I had of my SO's Reuben sandwich were really good, and I enjoyed the flight of beers, especially the fruity Kolsch I tried. The place seems to attract a lot of out-of-towners, too. They have a floor of merch downstairs, but I feel like it's a missed opportunity not to sell some Rochester-labeled souvenirs, like magnets. I couldn't find a single Rochester magnet anywhere in town! Then again, I guess Rochester isn't exactly a touristy city that would have its own magnet. The brewery must have some die-hard fans because I remember seeing clothing labeled with their different brands of beer they sell.

Our our last day in Rochester we went out to lunch at the brewery. A great place for a nice beer with lunch. Great pub food. I especially loved my naan french dip. My teenage son inhaled the wings & his cowboy burger. My hubby felt the Nashville chicken hoagie was just OK. The service was spot on, friendly & attentive. Lastly, the location is perfect with great views outside. It was too bad we couldn't get a table outside. We had to take a stroll before we left the area to enjoy the beautiful weather.

Super crowded on a Wednesday afternoon with a lot of after-work folks looking to wind down. I was fortunate to find a seat at the bar where I very much enjoyed a Genesee Light. Friendly service and the food looks pretty amazing. Having just come from Tennessee (two n's, two s's, two e's), I'm having real trouble spelling Genesee (one n, one s and then two e's). And even harder after this Genesee Light! [Review 1404 of 2024 - 408 in New York - 22427 overall]

All I will say, is that it was worth it. The place and the menu are pretty cool/chill. Plenty of seating with firepit style table tops, extremely dog friendly, self serve water, and food/drink selections were great too. The waitress was very sweet, but was obviously overworked and busy too. She apologized and gave us free drink tokens and comped us a side order of garlic fries after they ran out of side salads. None of that was her fault, but it shows how the employees and establishment care about their valued costumers. We had the veggie focaccia, garlic fries, and buffalo parm wings (they were huge). No complaints on the quality of food or the portion size since we had more than enough to take stuff home. We will definitely come back. I live only a few minutes away by foot!
