Burgers are really tasty. Fries well seasoned. Fast service. Always busy but always friendly and efficient.

9/20/24. Our first time at George's. It looks like a whole lot of nothing from the street. Were it…read morenot for the sign above the door, you'd have no reason to notice the building. But, once you're inside, it's a whole other story. A really nice, big two-tier full bar is the first thing you see. There appears to be three different dining areas (bar, front room and back room), and they all looked comfy. Didn't see any ratty chairs or ripped, stained carpeting, no gouges or splattered food on the walls. Though it's called a Supper Club, we arrived in shorts and t-shirts, and nobody gave us the stink eye. No need to get all dressed up. Melanie was our server. She couldn't have been any more perfect! She was prompt (brought menus and took drink order within a minute of us sitting down), she was attentive (checked on us several times), and she kept that pretty smile beaming each interaction with us. She was a complete delight! We started with deep fried cauliflower and jalapeño cheese curds. The cauliflower was really good, the breading was crunchy and perfectly done. The curds had the right bite of jalapeño, but were kind of swimming in grease. Entrees were Plain Alfredo and the Friday dinner special, Beer-battered Talapia. In truth, the alfredo was rather standard (I should have asked for Parmesan) but I would get it again. The talapia special had mixed results. The fish itself was good (2 pieces) but the batter was overcooked, kind of ruining the effect. The baked potato was piping hot and the perfect size, the creamy coleslaw passed the taste test, but the dinner roll was sort of hard and dry. Next time we go back we will try the chicken dinner. It looked really good when it was brought to a diner sitting at the bar. On our way out, the bartender (who makes a great brandy manhattan!!) held out a small bucket full of Tootsie Pops and said we could each choose one. He was another one with a big smile, and it added to the overall positive feeling we got at George's. Give it a try. We're glad we did.

Steve and Matt are both like favorite uncles, especially if one of your favorite uncles happens to look like Spock's lovely human twin in Steve's case! Prime rib is on-point and on regular rotation every Friday and Saturday, with 9 oz. Queen slabs and 13 oz. King slabs that also come with two shrimp options (sautéed or breaded) if you prefer. The spot is known for their prime rib and their fried chicken, and I'm definitely coming back to try that chicken after this first impression. Steve has also owned the place for a decade now and still makes a point to chat with every patron as they're leaving - you'll find real country hospitality here. And don't even think of leaving without grabbing a sucker!

First off, I don't normally give negative reviews. I've written this and deleted 3 times. IF I…read morecould give ZERO Stars to this place I would. Went there 2 Thursdays ago, after a LONG day at the Mayo Clinic. This place was just down the block from where we were staying and it was highly rated, so why not? Pulled up around 4 pm or so, the music outside was blaring so loud, I almost left. Had my wife not been so hungry (she had to fast that day for tests) I would have. Went inside and was greeted warmly by a host who explained the myriad of ways to order. So I stepped up to the ordering kiosk and, having reviewed menu items before hand, Ordered a single for my wife and a double burger for me. I asked the host what came with that, and was told everything was ala cart so kept it plain, but ordered some fries for both of us. Water for both. So, a double, single, fries, 2 water and the order came to over $30, which really surprised me. Expecting a great burger, I sat and the greeter brought FREE popcorn t our table, which was extremely salty and stale to boot. Burgers came on a nice-looking bun. I looked inside my bun and was greeted by the most pathetic looking 2 burgers I have ever seen. Overdone, dry and SMALL. It felt like they were reheated from lunch. 2 patty's didn't equal one patty at most other places. Had my wife not been so hungry, I would have gotten up and left. Even the two pickles (which are homemade, with a nice zing) didnt make the burgers any better. There were only about 6 people in the store so NO EXCUSES for not getting a better effort from the chef! So, conclusion, DON'T waste your money on this place. I would have been better off at Micky D's or Bugger King and saved money to boot. I WILL NOT be going back, which is too bad as I will be staying in the Rochester area for an extended period of time and about 10 minutes from this place. OH, Sorelina's, across the street is awesome, we at there the night before.

The pickles have the zing to the zang The burgers were just good not great- unfortunately the reviews i read didn't seem to line up to our burgers. Flavors were good on the toppings of the burger but the burger itself wasn't juicy (and yes i know they are smash burgers but I've had juicy smash burgers before).

The Burger Monarchy: A Paradox of Plenty in Miesville In the…read morequiet, pastoral stretches outside Eagan, there exists a roadside institution that defies the modern trend of curated minimalism. King's Place in Miesville is a relic of a different era, a burger joint that functions less like a restaurant and more like a high-volume assembly line of Americana. The menu is not merely large; it is an overwhelming, multi-page manifesto of beef. With roughly 80 to 100 variations on the burger--many named in tribute to the local Miesville Mudhens baseball team--the experience begins with a bout of genuine decision paralysis. For the average diner, the sheer volume of choices feels like a dare. It is a place where you can find almost any topping imaginable, which makes the absence of a simple fried mushroom all the more jarring. It is the one note the kitchen fails to hit in an otherwise exhaustive symphony. When the food does arrive, the logistics are the primary entertainment. The floor staff at King's Place perform a nightly feat of athletic grace, weaving through the crowded, character-filled dining room while balancing five or more burger trays at a time. It is a spectacle of efficiency that puts the sterile, automated nature of modern chains to shame. However, one must navigate the side dishes with a discerning eye. While the temptation to "upgrade" is always present, the seasoned waffle fries are an investment that yields little return; they are best skipped in favor of the standard fare. The real value here lies in the core product and the refreshing lack of pretension. Despite the fame and the daunting menu, the pricing remains stubbornly reasonable, a rare feat for an establishment that has transitioned from a local secret to a regional landmark. "Life is too short to miss out on the beautiful things like a double cheeseburger." -- Channing Tatum For those seeking the predictable polish of a franchise, King's Place will be a confusing sensory overload. But for the traveler who values soul, speed, and a price point that respects the wallet, this is a kingdom worth visiting--just don't expect to find a fried mushroom on your plate.
