Jesus, with covid, grooming and self-care has really taken a hit. Since I normally can't go to my usual hair stylist, and I was starting to look like Cousin Itt from the Addams Family and badly needed a hair trim and look like a decent lady again, I came here.
I have walked by this place hundreds of times since it's in my hood but never came in for a cut. When I asked it turned out a cut and style was only $44. Sophie, the lady who runs the place reminds me of your typical Québécois aunt, warm, a little lively and out there and who does her own thing. I came in, had a picture of the cut and style I wanted on my phone, showed it to her and she went to town.
The salon is a bare-bones operation, nothing fancy at all and they are in the midst of renovations so don't expect a Beverly Hills Salon. They are also very Québécois, I don't think they speak English and there's a real blue-collar vibe here, the way Verdun used to be before gentrification hit.
Still for what I paid I got a really decent cut and the people there aim to please. read more
