Upside Down Pizza - 16 Square
Irene C.

I'm a huge fan of their chicken rolls. It's really gooood. I love their garlic knots. Now... I ordered their upside down pizza. It sounded amazing. This one breaks my heart, it wasn't it. I love my garlic, the sauce was yummy but the pizza itself wasn't to par. It was stale. The shredded mozzarella was okay. This pie has potential so it could be one of those days where I didn't get the best but the pizza can't be in a stale condition. Not sure if it was too much yeast but something didn't go right. I'm staying with 4 stars because this place does hit the spot every time I've gone and gotten my usual.

Mini Personal pepperoni & mushrooms

The mini personal, pepperoni and mushroom pizza hit the spot! Although it's a personal Pizza, I would argue you can feed two people.

This Pizza is MASSIVE and the pepperoni LOW key is good. They TAPER everything well and the flavor of the food doesn't FADE. Chief Glonk

Had some errands to do in the neighborhood and wanted to check this place out, we live on the other side of Valley Stream . This slice was amazing! hints of oregano , Romano cheese and a generous amount of mozzarella. Perfect

A small storefront pizzeria which also serves some Italian entrees. Located in a small strip center. Stopped here for a quick lunch after flying in from Florida. Nice selection of pizzas by the slice. I ordered an all meat slice with sausage, pepperoni, and meatball, very good. My wife tried the Spinach & Ricotta Stromboli, which she really enjoyed.

The chicken franchaise with penne and the old zeppelins

Honestly this is one of the worst places I have ordered from, I ordered chicken franchaise with penne pasta. The chicken didn't have that sour flavor it was very blend. The pasta came with marinara sauce. So I'm asking my self how I was supposed to eat it. The bread for the pasta was hard, the pizza was very soggy and oily, and ordered some zepelines that it tasted like they were made 2 weeks ago. Note for the business owner : you need to do a better job. I'm sorry if I'm harsh on you but I really didn't like your food.

The pie was delicious. Here from California and wanted to try a true New York pie. Definitely got it with this place, thanks a lot. Really friendly delivery guy. We had an extra large sausage, pepperoni and mushrooms.

Horrible taste and very salty

Ordered pasta fagioli soup didn't expect Tomato soup very salty and horrible taste. If I wanted tomato soup I would have had Campbell's

Fettuccine Alfredo Pasta.

Fettuccine Alfredo Pasta was watered down. Horrible horrible food. The Alfredo sauce was like water.

Guys are super friendly!

Wow! - Found this "Hole in the Wall" - accidentally! If you don't pay careful attention - you will pass this gem of a place. Owner and staff are extremely family oriented and super friendly. "The Customer" - "Me" was treated so respectfully and kindly. But, enough of this! - Grandma Pizza may possibly be the best I've ever had. Sauce is truly to die for. Please check out some of the pictures that I snapped; - will give you an idea of things. Visited early this afternoon - popped in for a few slices and couldn't resist; I had to take two "Grandmas" home with me. Of course my wife caught me and she ate one of the and truly loved it as well. Would consider popping back in and coming into the back dining room to try a dinner. I'm wondering how their Eggplant Parmesan is. If they use the same sauce, it could potentially be off the chart. This is the deal: So many pizza places in the area to chose from and so many of them are garbage. I truly have discovered a hidden gem this afternoon. Excellent! Located in Valley Stream, Long Island - nearby the Elmont border; not to far from Queens; A touch off "The Beaten Path" - but super easy to find if you pay attention. This is truly an "Old School" Italian place with "Real Deal" pizza makers. They had some great music playing in the background as well. Everyone working there was super chill and kind. I felt like I was a part of my very own neighborhood pizzeria. A+ Hospitality goes a long way. I hope this place never changes. Doubt they will! Check it out! - Don't waste your time with the regular pizza! Proceed directly to the Grandma - OMG - AMAZING!

I've driven by Tandoori Pizza many times and was always curious to try them. I had the opportunity to finally try Tandoori Pizza since I was at an event at another establishment down the block. I did takeout, and ordered the following: -- Archari Chicken Pizza w.extra garlic sauce (14" large pie for $31.80 with tax): Anchari chicken is typically very spicy, which I was looking forward to. The chicken was barely spicy and extremely dry. I had asked for extra garlic sauce (+ 50¢) in the pizza but I'm not sure if they actually put extra sauce, since it was so dry. Also, the dough reminded me of Dominos crust; very doughy and not very crusty. The toppings were skimpy and the pizza was mostly doughy bread. -- Lamb Kebab Pizza (14" large pie for $31.30 with tax): the dough was the same as the Achari Pizza; doughy and dry. The flavors of this pizza were stronger than the Achari, but the crumbled lamb was extremely overcooked, making it...you guessed it...very dry. Also, We found the price of these pizzas extremely high, given the skimpy amount of toppings and the size of the pizza. $31+ for a 14" pie with skimpy dry toppings and dry doughy crust is unwarranted. I don't know. Everyone else has rated Tandoor Pizza very high, so maybe it's just us who didn't like them. Or...maybe you have to douce the pizza in Ranch Sauce like everyone else?!?! I personally don't like Ranch Sauce on my pizza so that a big no thanks for me. Sorry! I still love Indian Pizza in general, and will continue to enjoy it, but at other places. I'm glad I finally got to try Tandoori Pizza though... curiosity satisfied! On a positive note, the staff is very friendly, polite and welcoming! Also, they offer discounts if you order online (not in person). So order ahead and save a few bucks!

Our waiter, Ivan, took the time to explain how many of…read moretheir ingredients, including the flour, tomato sauce, and ricotta are imported directly from Naples, Italy, with the ricotta coming from Sicily. The entire experience made me feel like I was back in Italy. The sourdough pizza was outstanding, and unlike most pizza I get elsewhere, I didn't feel heavy or sluggish afterward. You can truly taste the quality and authenticity of the ingredients. We'll definitely be back. The Pizza Polpettina was out of this world!

I'm driving back from Maryland and I planned to stop at Via Cuma for lunch…read more I understand Via Cuma is a not by the slice pizza shop, it's more authentic with a personal size pizza. I parked across the street (make sure you feed the parking meter) and walked inside. I'm assuming it was the owner, I said I'm so hungry and was asked to grab any open table. The restaurant is cozy with multiple tables which can be adjusted to fit a large or small party. The owner comes over with an iPad, I just want a glass of wine with lunch. No bueno, I don't think they have a liquor license. I ordered a coke instead. This word is tripping me up, I know it's devilish, Diavola? I make the sign of the cross as I order this pizza. The owner explains this is his favorite pizza, I can see why. The Diavola Pizza is made with San Marzano Tomato Sauce, Hot Soppressata Salame from Calabria and topped with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese along with a drizzle of Olive Oil. This is a pizza that's more heavenly than devilish. There's some heat coming from various ingredients but it's welcomed. The sourdough is something that's interesting, I had this dough in Syosset last week. Is this a new trend? It brought the pizza to another level, there's more complexity with the imported ingredients. I also appreciated the cheese, I should have asked if it was made in-house. Via Cuma, great pizza the other day! Thanks for the Italian lesson on pronouncing Diavola
