I have been to this facility before and have had some excellent massages. Tonight, however, I tried something new. I booked a "Luxurious Body Treatment Set". It consisted of a 50 min body scrub followed by a 50 minute massage. First of all, I have never been interested in a scrub because I figured I could just exfoliate myself at home. Well, I'm so happy I gave it a try. The scrub was done in a private room and then I was escorted to a private shower to rinse off. After the shower, I was taken back to the room for an incredible massage. Jenny was my therapist and she used warm coconut oil and hot stones to hydrate my skin and relax my tense muscles. She included some face gua sha and a hand mask. I felt so spoiled and relaxed when I left. If you are looking to treat yourself or someone you love, I highly recommend this package. My wife has chronic pain. We found Gentle Crane and the service has been phenomenal. My wife has been receiving care from Kristen, maybe 12 times now. She gets the care she needs to relax her muscles and break up re-occurring knots and tension. My wife likes to talk alot and Kristen has been so friendly and attentive. I do not talk that much :) and Kristen can go with that flow also. If you choose to be chatty, they will listen and chat but if you want to stay silent and be in the moment that is okay too. I have also had massages from Jenny and Ashley who were all amazing. Each therapist employed different but effective techniques on me. In all cases they zeroed in on trouble spots I didn't even know I had. They are professional, artists of their craft. For small size ladies they can apply a LOT of pressure if it is needed. I like to lift heavy weights and getting the pressure relief really helps in my recovery and range of motion. The facilities are nice and clean. Absolutely unfortunate experience, especially for my first time here. My husband surprised me with a massage and spa experience for Mother's Day, and I was beyond excited to finally get pampered before delivering my second baby in just three weeks. I had heard amazing things about their prenatal massages and read all of the wonderful Yelp reviews, so I had high hopes. I arrived 15 minutes early as requested to complete paperwork before my appointment. To my surprise, immediately after I finished filling everything out on the iPad, I was informed there had been an emergency cancellation involving one of the massage therapists. Of course I was disappointed, but unfortunately that was only the beginning. The manager approached me apologetically, but then explained that because it was Mother's Day, they were fully booked and essentially expected me to decide what to do next. I remember asking, "What do you mean? What would you like me to do?" She offered a 20% discount on the gift certificate my husband had purchased and suggested rescheduling me for the following Saturday, assuring me that she herself would personally do my massage. At that point, I agreed because I didn't want to let the situation ruin my day. The front desk staff also reassured me, speaking very highly of the manager and saying she had over 10 years of massage therapy experience, had worked at the Ritz-Carlton, and that everyone absolutely loved her work. That made me feel much more comfortable and reassured. Fast forward to the rescheduled appointment: I was looking forward to this massage all week, especially as a very pregnant woman who is about ready to pop. Then my husband received a text saying my appointment had been changed to Sunday instead of the Saturday we had originally scheduled. They had somehow mixed up my appointment. At that point, my frustration was through the roof. After already experiencing a cancellation and rescheduling issue, having my appointment changed again felt incredibly unprofessional and disappointing. I was so upset that I had my husband go inside and speak on my behalf because I didn't want to react emotionally or say something out of frustration. Overall, I'm extremely disappointed with my experience. I understand emergencies happen, but repeated scheduling mistakes and poor communication made what was supposed to be a relaxing Mother's Day gift turn into a stressful experience. As someone about to welcome a baby any day now, I was really looking forward to this time for myself. I truly hope they improve these issues in the future because based on my experience, I unfortunately would not recommend this establishment. read more

First time at Gentle Crane Wellness Spa and it absolutely won't be my last! I've been looking around for a massage place/therapist for the past year and have tried a handful in the area and I will say that this place is my new favorite! From the start, making an appointment through Jenny was a great first impression, she's very polite and answers any questions you have, and makes the sign up process very easy. For your first appointment, you need to come 15 minutes early to fill out a medical history form to ensure there's no contraindications to getting your treatments, I appreciate this as this can prevent allergic reactions or other medical concerns. The receptionist was very nice too! She was helpful and honest and did let me know of some specials they had. I asked for a 80 minute custom machine and added a scalp detox (extra $20) and harmony bliss treatment (extra $26) with Himalayan salt rocks which is included into your overall time. Although the add ons can make a hefty bill, I totally thought it was worth it! My massage therapist was Ashley, she's very sweet and very skilled! She can tell where your aches and pains are and you can tell she puts extra effort into those areas. I asked for an emphasis on upper and lower back and she did absolutely awesome helping me with my pain and tension using pinpoint pressure and direct targeting was great. The scalp detox felt really nice and was a nice head scrub as well as using a gua Sha tool to gentle scrape the scalp, the coconut oil smelled very nice. I probably wouldn't do this one as often but the harmony bliss was what it states--blissful. It might be the cold weather but those hot rocks with a little bit of grain really had me relaxing and it felt exfoliating as well! I was worried about being cold due to the weather but Ashley was wonderful at keeping me covered and the heated bed is hugely appreciated! The spa itself is clean and very quiet. Great music and despite there being 2-4 other guests during my time there, I never heard any of them during my massage. Next time I come in, if those promotions are still around, I'm definitely going to consider purchasing a package. They take cash and card and if you give gratuity via cash they offer you an envelope to put it in for your therapist. Massage was wonderful! Place was clean, calming and relaxing environment. However there was a misunderstanding on the add on that I originally requested. Since it was my first time there I wasn't sure if it was going to be added at the end of the session. So when she indicated that session was complete I asked her if the Himalayan scrub was part of my session and she said no. As a suggestion maybe have the masseuse confirm the services at the beginning to ensure that what was requested is correct. Also maybe a warmer for the massage oil as it felt cold when first applied. The massage therapist was sweet, but her pressure was light, when she tried medium pressure, I could feel her shaking, so I did not request continued medium pressure. The scalp detox was not 10 mins, it was probably more like 3, I am not sure if there was suppose to be scraping, something rubbed my shoulder and neck, the machine didn't do anything other than tangle and pull my hair. I felt swindled being charged 20 dollars for a 3 min treatment? Also she had a faint smell of nicotine. People were nice but not really what I wanted. As the stress of our jobs (a professional chef and dean of a healthcare college) increased along with the aches of aging, we increased the frequency of the treatment. It allowed us to continue working far longer than would have been possible. When we both retired, we cancelled our contracts with a well known massage franchise. We had enjoyed the service and experience but there were so many obstacles that eventually became too difficult. We couldnt book massages at the same time or with our favorite therapists. There was turnover of therapists. Prices went up. It was not worth the trouble anymore. So after being away for some post retirement travel, we looked for a new option. We noticed that a new spa opened near our Rancho Cucamonga home. Gentle Crane Wellness Spa. It looked like a small storefront so we were unsure. You know the things you hear about "massage parlors" so we did a deep dive. The claims on the website proved true. A tour showed that the small storefront led to a calm spacious spa, with multiple rooms. In case anyone suspected it might be sketchy, the sign at the front desk puts that notion away. There is a notice that if a client asks for funny business, they will be escorted out. This is an up and up business. We have settled in with therapists Ashley for me and Jenny for my husband. They listen to us when we say what is hurting and needs attention. We have just renewed our 6 session subscription, we were so pleased. The treatment rooms are spacious, quiet, and calming as is the showering room and restroom--not that back of the store closet that exists in many. I have had many massages and treatments in locations across the US and in Europe, and Gentle Crane is at the top of the list.
