Aside from being a mom, and a house wife, my daily job in the dental field includes working with special-needs patients. Most of the time, I have to adjust myself (forgetting ergonomics) to be able to give the most comfortable and proper treatment for my patients--leaving me with probably horrible posture, as well as body aches from neck, shoulders, back, and down to my hips. I had been to $40 massages (with curtain dividers) that leaves me sore for several days on areas where I wasn't sore before I came in, to luxury spas with therapists who just smothered their clients with expensive essential oils and are very inconsistent with massage techniques. Some have excellent therapists, but the massage table is very uncomfortable with dust collecting under the face rest making me sneeze the entire session. These past few days I had been experiencing numbness on my finger tips, with tight joints in between and tingly sensation on my arms that wakes me up at night. Sometimes I feel numbness while doing dental treatments on patients thinking that my gloves were just too tight. Yesterday, I had a 60 minutes therapeutic massage with Yolie, all I can say is that... IT WAS PERFECTLY AMAZING!! Before my session she took time to get to know my concerns and she explained that the numbness and tingling on my arms were connected to the tension on my neck muscles. The room was very relaxing and clean (with my severe sensitivity and allergy to dust, I didn't sneeze even once) the massage table is top of the line, it was the most comfortable I've ever been. The face rest can be adjusted to an extent where I feel comfort. All through out the therapy session her pace was consistent and careful. I've never had a therapist focused much on my shoulder blade muscles but she did. She is very knowledgeable on what she does. I was amazed to feel so much relief! I had a good sleep and woke up this morning without soreness. I felt so energized and I was able to enjoy yoga without feeling pain and tightness when I stretch. Most importantly, the numbness on my fingertips and tingling on my arms were surprisingly gone. Honestly, no more discomfort or pain today. I feel great!! Yolie is very caring, ethical and professional. Although she massages the whole body, she focuses on the area that needs more attention during the session. I would say that her massage is more personalized --a combination of different massage techniques to relieve the body from tension, tightness and aches. Wow where has Yolie been all my life!!! I found her through yelp and am so happy the reviews match the service. So far I've only had prenatal massages as I'm currently pregnant. Wish I knew her when I was pregnant with my first! She has a gentle, nurturing bedside manner. She works with you and your preferences. I love the massage oils she uses, it's not too potent (especially right now with pregnancy hormones exaggerating smells for me) and she also has odorless products if you're sensitive to smells. The room is decorated wonderfully and helps illicit calmness. I feel SO completely relaxed after every session with her. The first time I signed up for 60 mins as I was unsure if I'd like the technique/pressure but the next time I extended it to 90 mins because I loved it so much! The ease of texting and calling her to schedule an appt is great. Her location can be a little confusing at first as she rents a room in a building predominantly functioning as a hair salon. I have fibromyalgia and RA, and am a new mom to a 1 year old... and have been in a lot of pain for a long time. When I arrived at the place- I was laughing because it is inside of The ColorLoft- the same place I had bookmarked to see about a haircut Yolie greeted me at the front and gave me a form to fill out- and then we went to the area where her room is.
