The very first time I entered Gentle Dental Group was to get examined to get all my wisdom teeth removed. The receptionist was very friendly and checked me in- although I had forgotten some paperwork initially and they did need it. That was my fault but they were able to work with me (your mileage may vary! Please bring your paperwork with you if you were referred!) and I was able to be seen, examined, and got a estimate. They went over any questions I had, which is comforting! A bit pricey as I was quoted bone grafts but after doing some research and asking some questions, I decided moved forward with it. I set up my appointment and it was a waiting game. My appointment wasn't for a couple of months and I was informed a month prior to my appointment that the doctor wasn't going to be in and had to be rescheduled. It made me a bit scared because my work had approved of the prior appointment schedule and I wasn't too sure if they could accommodate it. But we have to remember stuff like this happens. It ended up working out! During the week just prior to my appointment, I've received texts on 3 separate occasions despite me confirming multiple times. Then they also called me to confirm my appointment and also to give me instructions prior to the visit. I needed a driver, and the driver had to remain in the building. The texts seemed a bit over the top, but at least they're thorough! Come the day of my appointment, I check in with reception and the receptionist was fantastic, straight to the point, kind, and funny too! I also witnessed the young receptionist sit down with an older lady who was in distress and talk to her. Stuff like that sticks out to me, and although I didn't get the receptionist's name- customer service like that? You can't really find anywhere else and that's when I knew this place is worth coming back to. The one thing that pains me a lot about writing this review is I forgot the names of everyone I interacted with! The woman technician who brought me to the back to set me up for my procedure was absolutely fantastic- answered my questions, expressed care and compassion like no other, and felt genuine. The male doctor, I believe his name is Dr. Hughes- he is super easy to talk to and both he and the technician were able to walk me through the procedure and help me understand the process. They did the procedure and although I've had a rough past couple days, I still had some numbness that I was worried about. Luckily, they were able to accommodate me today (may not always be the case!) So today as I'm writing this review, I was just there about an hour ago because of my concern. The one thing I was grateful for was the technician that was with me the same day as my procedure was also there today and was able to see me! Although I would've preferred to see the same doctor, I was able to be seen by the another fantastic doctor. Since I was with the same technician, it gave me relief because she had some understanding regarding my case, and also gave me the one thing I needed: reassurance. When I saw the female doctor and discussed my concerns with her, she was also great! She understood my concerns, addressed each point, and gave me realistic expectations. They then sent me off. I was very happy with their customer service and the way they showed that they care. Huge thank you to the staff at Gentle Dental Group! I can't believe I forgot or didn't ask you all for your names! Do not come here! Gentle Dental is the worst dental experience I've ever had. The receptionists were rude and unprofessional, more interested in personal tasks like grooming their eyelashes and gossiping at the desk than assisting patients. I had two small cavities filled by an older blonde dentist. Despite repeatedly wincing in pain, she continued the procedure without addressing my discomfort adequately. When she attempted to numb me again, it was ineffective, and I endured unnecessary pain throughout. After the procedure, the teeth, which weren't an issue before, became so painful I couldn't chew on that side. They also felt rough and poorly polished. I scheduled a follow-up, only to be forced to see the same dentist. I explained the two issues: pain when chewing and the rough, textured fillings. She ignored my concerns and fixated on whether my bite was even, despite me clearly stating that wasn't the problem. Frustrated, I gave up and left. When I tried explaining my dissatisfaction to the receptionist (an older woman with long, dark hair), she dismissed me, claiming the dentist said I was satisfied. I was nearly in tears from the pain and frustration. The dentist even suggested my toothpaste was to blame, despite me never experiencing issues/pain before this visit. Additionally, the office lacks privacy, with open stations where you can see other patients being treated. It felt unhygienic and uncomfortable. I regret trusting this office and strongly urge others to avoid it. read more

The receptionist was rude, lacked patience and understanding to my situation. She also refused to give me her name. I explained I have been waiting for 2months to have my wisdom teeth removed and I was approved for oral extraction at there dentist. She said they could schedule a consultation and I would have to wait an additional month. I offered to have my most previous X-rays sent over from my dentist so I can schedule the extraction. She then said I wasn't listening and she would be refusing to service me and then hung up on me. I haven't ever been refused service before. I expressed I was in pain and it was an emergency. Super disheartening by the inhumane customer service and mal-practice I received being left untreated. Only upside my new dentist is in Beverly Hills now. I was relatively new to this dentist office as I had just switched but the switch was made easy by the front office especially Melanie, the receptionist there. I had problems with my medical but she helped me through the process a whole lot, she's the reason the trips to the office are enjoyable and not miserable. I had my wisdom teeth pulled out , all four, and it couldn't have gone more smoothly. I had a really bad experience at my regular dentist office and so I was shaken up and also the reviews did not help. The assistant was super understanding and nice she numbed me before the injections, I was completely numb but during my right side removal I felt it . Once I let the doctor know he stopped and injected a little bit more and waited, then I couldn't feel anything. Tips: Wisdom teeth surgery is going to hurt and it is even more painful during the after care. You cannot go into an office with the mindset that you aren't going to hurt in process. First off don't let their name fool you "Gentle Dental" I have never experienced such poor service at a dental office then I did here. They have the most sorry ass excuses I've ever heard! I showed up 30 min before my appointment to watch others that showed up 1 hour after me get attended before me when we both were there for the same thing, and to top it off I ended up paying more than i was quoted at the beginning. The procedure was beyond painful as I sat there and told the dentist and his assistant that I could feel the pain and that I was not fully numb! I was choking with my own blood (btw I'm getting 4 of my wisdom teeth removed.) My prescription was not filled out properly and had such a hard time at the pharmacy as I was in excruciating pain. DO NOT GO HERE TO GET WISDOM TEETH REMOVED! Dr. Hughes and his staff ignored me when I told him I wasn't numb. They continued to do the procedure when I was screaming in pain. I came here for wisdom teeth extraction. I was talking when he brutally shoved his hands in my mouth. I was trying to tell him the topical anesthetic had worn off. So that was painful. Than as he pulled the teeth i felt really sharp pains not sure if thats normal. Tried talking to him after they were pulled about the extreme pain i was feeling. he bolted out of the room mid sentence. The dds is cold and mean. I came here because of the name gentle dental. Fill out some paperwork. there was 2 ladies at the front, 1 named Maria which she was a helpful and the other one not sure what her name is but she did not know what she was doing., she kept asking Maria what to do. Well for some reason they said they couldn't of done that cause their specialist comes in at 2pm. But today the person who I was talking to was very unprofessional, rude, kept blaming me for the miscommunication or understanding on my part. I had my wisdom teeth extracted here, all 4 of them and they did a good job. They are all really sweet and answer any questions you have. When I got it done it was my birthday a week before and they were sweet enough to surprise me with a ice cream birthday cake at the end of my surgery. About a week later I had some severe pain and they let me walk in without an appointment, turns out I had a dry socket and the Doctor helped with that two days in a row and also said I can come in again if the pain continued. Dr. Hughes! Shame on you for walking out on me because you don't think I should be nursing my 2 year old. I went in to the office for a consultation on 2 wisdom extractions. My consultation lasted less than 2 minutes and ended when I expressed my concerns due to the fact that I am currently nursing my child. Dr. Hughes asked me how old my baby is and said that I need to stop nursing. When I told him I was not ready yet he throws his hands up in the air and with a smirk says, "I'm done with this" and walks out on me. (for the record it's any mothers choice to decide when she wants to stop nursing not yours!) Your lack of professionalism has left me dumbfounded. You, not validating my concern and leaving me with a mouthful of questions shows how little respect you had for me and my business.
