When I tell you, I had an amazing experience at an orthodontist please believe me despite how insane that sounds. This is 10/10 experience for me. I had a wisdom tooth with a very large cavity on it that was causing me a lot of pain. I called on a Friday morning, asking if they could see me today and the very nice receptionist said to give her 10 mins and she'd call me back. Sure enough she calls and said we can see you at 11 am. The doctor was very nice, explained everything and had a very calm energy. He popped that tooth out very fast and it was painless, I actually didn't even know he had taken it out yet! One thing I'd also like to note here is that he was not pushy about me getting all four wisdom teeth removed as other oral surgeons in my past have. He took the decaying tooth out and didn't shame me for not taking out all 4 at once. He said in the future we can revisit the other 3 if I want to. Getting teeth pulled out is never fun, however I'm glad I came across this office and staff. I was a wreck coming in for a consultation Dr Gabriel Aslanian and his team were so good that if I had more wisdom teeth to pull out I'd definitely come back to him and him only. The guy has a wall full of certificates apart from that he made me feel like I was in safe hands. The process was honestly prob less than 40mins. The numbing took longer than him actually pulling out my wisdom teeth. The healing process wasn't bad. They send you home well and educated on how to take care of the open wounds. Apart from that this location is very very clean the lady's at the front desk are very understanding and made the checking in and whole insurance process easy. I ended up here due to miscommunication at another office...I'm so glad it happened. So, I needed to get all 4 wisdom teeth removed; two of them impacted. I went in and was greeted by very nice staff. Met the doctor for my consultation and he made me feel veey comfortable, answered all of my questions and concerns, and is all-around personable and humorous. I was given a price estimate sheet on what my payment would be after insurance, set my appointment for a few months later and was on my way. Fast-forwqed to the day before my appoint where there was the one and only "issue" I had. It was around 1:30pm in the afternoon and I haven't heard from anyone reegarding the details because I didn't really know what needed to be done before the procedure. I also had some issues as I stay alone and had to find a ride after the surgery...which took a few texts to friends. I called the office to have some questions answered and they said they were going to call me later that day and let me know the doc couldn't make the original 9am appt. and had to change it to 11am. I was a bit irritated because I was told so late and had to hope my ride was still available. Anywho, day of surgery I was a nervous wreck. The dental assistant got me all settled (she was so sweet) and the doc came in the get me knocked out. I told him how nervous I was and he made me feel at ease right before I felt the drug and knocked out. When I woke up and on my way home I was not in pain. I was given pain meds and something else which I didn't take, as well as some pain gel, but no antibiotics which I thought was weird but k didn't need them. I was so pleasantly surprised to get a text from the doc the next day or after to check up on me and answer any questions. That really made me feel like he cared. I later called the office to ask a few more follow-ups and it was just as pleasant. Today, they are closing...no more pain and everything is all good. It was painful the 4th day and beyond for about a week, but that's healing! I highly recommend this place for extractions. read more

Hello all Yelpers! As I look at my healed gums and just am filled with gratitude to have gotten the best possible care, I finally wanted to take the opportunity to give the most shining review that I possibly can to Dr. Gabriel Aslanian and specifically Liz who works in his offices. I first met them because I was in dire need of getting all four of my wisdom teeth extracted (they were all impacted) and from that first consultation, I couldn't have been happier with my choice. Their care is worth all of these words, so bear with me. But if you can't read it all (which I certainly understand), just know that as someone who admittedly worries constantly and also worries about being a nuisance for asking several questions, the way they went above and beyond before, during and after the procedure to make me feel at ease is absolutely INVALUABLE. It is the equivalent of having the shiniest and most precious gold imaginable. Understandably, I was so so nervous because I had never had a surgical procedure done before. I did not know what to expect. Dr. Aslanian, with his very friendly and relaxed demeanor, made me feel immediately at ease and explained to my worrywart self in full detail what I could expect from procedure, and that they would provide after care instructions as well. I thanked him and then talked to Liz in the front desk who also took her time to explain what the insurance would cover and did not let me leave the office confused about anything financially or about the procedure itself. She also has a very friendly and helpful demeanor, so she is a perfect fit for his office. This detail of the day I got the wisdom teeth extracted shouldn't be excluded, 1. Because it's hilarious and 2. It really illustrates how far these medical professionals are willing to go to help their patients. I went for consultation on October 25th of last year, and I had to make my appointment for the next day, the 26th, or I would have to wait until January because they were booked solid. As I stated before, I was in DIRE NEED to get these suckers out, so I could not wait. But I did express concern because I had a concert to go to that day from one of my favorite artists of all time, Danny Elfman, and he would be performing the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack in full. There is no way I was going to miss this incredible show, so I was stressing out. Liz and I both agreed it was imperative that it needed to be done that day, however, she and Dr. Aslanian had full faith as long that I was wise (Brought pudding to eat and gauze for the extraction sites and took it as easy as I could) I would be okay to do both. And I did!!! I was not only okay, I had one of the best times of my life (MINUS FOUR TEETH IN MY MOUTH) and Dr. Aslanian sent me texts asking how I was doing before and after the concert. He made it clear I could also text with questions in the days following. I truly cannot convey what this meant to me, but I can only do my best in this review. Now to talk about the procedure itself and not the concert, my Dad drove me bright and early to get my wisdom teeth out, and I was absolutely petrified. Shaking in my boots. Also, it's worth noting that I went to my consultation in the Northridge office and then had the actual procedure done in this Valley Village office, so I can confirm both locations are INCREDIBLE. When I went, I was immediately greeted by Liz and she took the time to talk with my Dad and I about what I could expect during and after procedure, and went in full detail again doing so. She made it clear that if I had any questions whatsoever, I could call them during office hours and they would help me. Her reassuring smile, like a smile you would give a relative or family friend you care about, is what I remember before stepping out of the waiting room after my name was called. I also remember the moments before I was put under that Dr. Aslanian was very calm and even let me ask what the wedge I saw was for and he said it was to keep my mouth open while I was asleep. I asked him question after question until my eyes closed to drift to Dreamland, you think he would've ran out of patience? Not Dr. Aslanian. Truly the most knowledgeable and caring oral surgeon in the Valley, and on the face of the Earth. The same praise applies to Liz in the front desk, her kind words and excellent care is simply superb. These individuals actually care about the lives and overall well being of their patients, they aren't just another set of teeth to them. Nearly a year later, I feel blessed that I chose their office to call to get this vital procedure done! If you need any wisdom tooth extractions like me or any other oral work done, do not hesitate to call them!! I can confirm that it will be one of the best decisions that you have ever make. You guys, when I say I was "nervous" about getting my wisdom teeth out, it is the understatement of the century. I had no idea that I would be as nervous as I was about it, but when I got in the chair, I was actually crying. Dr. Aslanian even teased me that it was normal to be to nervous, but that I'm probably top three for Drama Queens! (It was a nice tease, it made me laugh!) I had never had anesthesia before so my mind was obviously running wild about what could go wrong. He so calmly and nicely relaxed me with a teeny taste of anesthesia (I think), and then let me ask all my crazy questions before the sedation took over. I honestly don't even remember falling asleep, but I remember waking up and basically feeling like nothing even happened. The nurse was also unbelievably sweet and I thank them for being so kind to this 26-year-old baby! I also have to say I'm typically averse to even taking Advil, because I feel like my body is sensitive to medication and I just am weird about it, but the painkillers are great. I don't feel loopy or overly exhausted, I just feel like the pain is being managed. All in all, with the exception of my morning spaz attack, I had a great Friday off watching Netflix, eating ice cream, and putting a pack of frozen peas on my cheeks. I met with Dr. Aslanian on Monday to set up an appointment to have all four of my wisdom teeth removed and they had me in by today (Friday). Up until meeting him, I had been SO nervous for the procedure. I definitely wanted to be put under because I feared the thought of conscious sedation (even though I've heard people love it) because I'm a serious baby about the dentist and didn't want to feel a thing. On the other hand I was ALSO nervous to be put under as I'd never had anesthesia before. Dr. Aslanian made me feel at ease during our meeting and I went into the procedure feeling 90% ready, though there was still some part of me that worried the sedation wouldn't fully work & I'd be paralyzed but still feel everything, like in a horror movie. I told him that and he assured me everything would be a-okay. As he was giving me the anesthesia, my final thoughts were "okay, when is it going to kick in, when is it going to kick in..." And the next thing I know, a sweet woman was waking me up and putting me in a chair with a nice soft blanket and an ice pack comfortably wrapped around my head. The painkillers they gave me made me pretty nauseous, so after taking two doses (4 hours apart) I decided to switch over to a hefty amount of Ibuprofen instead which did the trick. Ice on the cheeks 20 min on, 20 min off, to help the swelling (I'm barely swollen at all yet but they said it'll reach its peak at 36 hours after surgery) And the SWEETEST THING, which actually motivated me to write this review right now, was that I received a text from Dr. Aslanian this evening checking in on me to see how I was doing!!! He said if I have any questions or concerns to please call him. That seriously made my night. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating too! FIVE STARS all around. read more

I went I to have a flap of skin removed from the inside of my cheek. When I arrived I was greeted by the very kind office staff. They took me back right away and were all smiles the entire time. Dr. Aslanian was very friendly and professional and explained everything to me including the pros and cons of the procedure. Having never had surgery before, I was very nervous about the procedure but I had the most wonderful experience. Amazing oral surgeon! I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Aslanian. I did my bottom two first about one year ago and recently went back to do my top ones. I felt super comfortable and did not feel anything! I did the nitros gas the first time for my bottom ones because I was very scared, although didn't need it for my top ones because I already knew how the procedure went and wasn't nearly as nervous.
