Regardless of this fact, Northern Star is absolutely taking advantage of their clients and overcharging on all fronts and the photos- the first one being an estimate from a VIRAL consultation with northern star on August 14th, 2020, and the second photo being from an In-person consultation I just had today with Dakota Valley in Burnsville- pretty much speak for themselves. As you can see from the first photo, Northern Star wanted to code two of my lower wisdom teeth as 'completely bony impacted'. I don't claim to be a dentist or claim to have the knowledge an oral surgeon has, but 'completely bony impacted', if you look it up, literally simply means "a tooth is completely inside of the bone and has not erupted through the gum," as in, it is not able to be seen in the mouth..... both of my lower wisdom teeth that they were claiming were "completely bony impacted" were visible in my mouth and had erupted through the gums. Another very questionable aspect was the fact that northern star tried to tell me that my four wisdom teeth would take 45 mins to 1 hr to extract, which meant they would get to charge me for a whole lot more for general anesthesia. The place I just had a consultation today told me, max, the entire procedure will take FIFTEEN MINUTES, because both the top teeth were a simple extraction and the bottom two, one was surgical completely erupted and the other is surgical partially bony. Northern Star mistook me for a young, naive 25 year old who wouldn't be bothered to do my own research or question what they were coding my wisdom tooth extraction as, which in essence, would've meant I would be getting charged ALOT more. Oh well- they lost a client and maybe this review will make them think twice about trying to FRAUDULENTLY miscode in order to overcharge unassuming clientele. DO YOUR RESEARCH.

Wish I never would have made the decision for services found out after there was another more appropriate option that I was never given and now is too late, seems intentionally misleading practices and horrible admin including Angela who needs to find a career where humans are not adversely affected and I've even witnessed her give different patients different treatment and costs. This was reported multiple times. Dr.Sass is good at what he does but is handicapped by administrative policies that don't involve clear concise info, patient care or human decency

The dental hygienist however was inexperienced and unsure of herself. She spent 30 minutes poking my gums and telling how much I need a deep cleaning (I was already planning it for the fall) and selling me on additional fluoride treatments. I know this is a business and she is pressured to make more sales, so I tried to let it go...but then the actual 'cleaning' took 10 minutes. Minimal attention to detail and stains and a quick floss. That and the receptionist who sits closest to the door needs a new job where she does not have to interact with anyone. Barista's at the Caribou across the street have less attitude. In the end the place is clean and the dentists are good. When I complained about the lack of a cleaning they said they would not charge me for the visit. Unfortunately they seem to care more about how much they can charge you than giving you good service. Scare tactics/worse case scenarios to push more and more procedures leaves me feeling distrustful. The crazy thing is I need a lot more dental work and I will be spending a lot of money at a dentist over my lifetime.

The lady who cleaned his teeth(short blonde hair, tall lady- I forget her name) was wonderful. She was friendly and comforting and made him feel at ease. The doctor (again - I'm terrible with names - but the one with the cochlear implant) we also very friendly, informative, and gentle. We were told to make another appt to get sealants on his molars. As we were checking out the lady told us her other appt cancelled and she could see him now for the sealants if we weren't busy. We did it and everything went great. She even gave my daughter (not being seen) a prize for waiting so long. Highly recommend!

My son doesn't get questions like that anymore! The only problem is that my son catches me staring at his new implant! I had a decent crown on a front tooth and, after seeing what Dr. James did with my son's implant, decided to have Dr. James replace the crown on my front tooth. I just could not believe the difference for me. My teeth look so much better. Now both my son and I can smile without being self-conscious about it!

Dr. Bruning made sure that the color match was correct - I even went to a special lab where a technician took 2 hours to make sure everything matched perfectly.
