I had two rugs from my mom's house I had been meaning to clean for the last year. One had been in our garage for a few years! Both needed aggressive dusting and a deep clean. I contacted a few places in my area on Yelp. I wanted the rugs cleaned by hand (not using a typical carpet cleaning machine) and the local places I messaged were neither reliable nor honest. The prices were all over the place too. Luckily, I found Gentle Genie on Google and I literally read all their FAQ and details on their website https://gentlegenierugcare.com/. They use a multi-step process and lots of verbs were thrown around including dusting, washing, flushing, drying... I knew it was going to be pricey, but it would be worth the cost if they didn't ruin my rugs and they came back less gray and un-dusty! I called and spoke with Helen who was very helpful and answered all my questions. I had the measurements and material of the two rugs and she was able to give me an estimate over the phone and get all my info. Note that there is a delivery/pick up fee (around $70). I believe the facility is in Riverside and they have specific pick up days depending on your area. By the way, I was sent an email to approve the estimate online upon pick it up (it was good to see the breakdown of cost). When payment was due, the company was true to their word and didn't add other fees. I did have to email so find out status, but I wasn't in a rush and preferred a thorough job than a quick one. The company sent a good follow up email about how to spot clean and keep your rug in good condition. Also the email noted that they have updated their facility with more room to clean rugs and reduce turnaround time. So happy that my rugs are now clean and looking great! read more

Paul at Gentle Genie Rug care is by far the best rug cleaner in Temecula. He begins by thoroughly inspecting your rug and tests the colors (as rugs are known to bleed). He has this great big machine to remove all the dirt from your rug and after he does all that he washes it! I've never seen so much dirty water come out of a rug, but Paul flushes it till the water is clear again. My rug had pee in it and all that came out too. My rug was soft and clean and the colors were vibrant when he was done. The best part is that all the odor is gone. I wouldn't have believed it if he hadn't let me watch. It was in bad shape, very dirty and with gum stuck in it in several places. I told him up front that it was not worth a lot of money to me and that I did not want to spend too much for cleaning.
