Found this place through yelp and decided to give them a try. People mentioned fair prices and good experiences. The inside of the barbershop was nice with a good theme and decor. The owner himself was also friendly. The quality of haircut though is nowhere near the price he charged. He spent literally 21 minutes from the time I sat down until I got up and checked my phone again after paying. I asked for a bald fade with a scissor trim up top so I could do a combover. I received a generic family salon quality cut and he trimmed the top with the razor. when I went to pay, I was genuinely surprised the total was $47! Without tip. I didn't know if I was being overcharged since it was my first time or what. $47 for 20 minutes of time, that'd be $141/hour. I don't like to cause scenes or commotion so I paid it and left. Definitely won't be returning. There are so many professional barbershops around gilroy, Morgan hill and San Jose who charge $40 or LESS and have top notch barbers who take pride in their work and who will give you amazing cuts. This place isn't it, seriously, go elsewhere. Also, the cut wasn't even. There were a few spots that were missed so my hair had areas which were longer than others. Had to pay 2 days later to have a better cut. read more

Ok so I feel Fernando and GQG deserve to be recognized. So I have been getting my haircut from the same person for the past 35 years. I knew the day would come that I would need to find someone else. That day has arrived as my barber has moved on to retirement. Naturally I'm super nervous as I'm stepping out of my comfort zone. This barber does not work with you to get the haircut you want. I came in and showed him a very specific picture of what I wanted and he wound up doing something entirely different and it looked ridiculous, like a little kid's haircut. He wound up charging me $65, I got it fixed up in San Francisco at a random barber the next day for $30 when I visited a friend. Won't be going back. read more

I was passing through from LA on my way to the Bay. I kept looking at my ugly mop in the mirror on my way up. I finally decided I was going to do something about it so that i would stop looking like a dirty hobo. So I stopped in at GQG and it was packed. Fern is in high demand. I thought about leaving but all the guys in there told me it would be worth the wait. They were right. The atmosphere in GQG is perfect. But the best part was all the other guys in there waiting. I didn't know any of them but they treated me like an old friend. Fernando creates such a great vibe in his shop. Between shooting the shit with the other guys and watching the highlights on tv, It felt like no time before i was in the chair. Then Fernando did his thing and now I look like a respectable human again. If I lived in the area, I would never go anywhere else.
