We have lived in the area for 6 years and always passing by but today we decided to go in for my four year olds first professional hair cut. The shop is so welcoming and even though we didn't have an appointment there were two stylists able to take him. Dina helped us and she was so patient as my child kept turning his head and moving around. She didn't mind answering any questions and the overall atmosphere was friendly. You could tell the clients and employees had a good connection with each other with the way they were laughing, talking and just an overall demeanor. I would for sure come back! EDIT: I forgot to add, Dina asked me if I was happy with the haircut or if I wanted any touch ups due to one side looking uneven or a small spot cut too short. I don't hold her accountable for an active four year old curious and bouncing around in the chair. She was so patient and attentive. Beware. We've had great experiences at San Jose Faded, so we decided to try the Morgan Hill location since it's closer. We called about an hour before closing, and they told us to come in. My son asked for a low taper fade with a trim on top--a pretty standard request. Unfortunately, the haircut turned out completely different. Midway through, the barber asked another stylist how to fix the line, which raised concern. I stepped in, and the second barber acknowledged it did not look like a low taper fade and tried to correct it. He did his best given the situation. That said, we went in for one thing and left with something entirely different--a much higher fade than requested. To correct the issue, they had to take the fade much higher than requested, blending it up to the skin, which resulted in a high skin fade rather than the low taper he asked for. To be fair, the manager, Vicky, called and apologized and asked us to give them another try, which I appreciate. I also want to note--my son handled the situation calmly. He's polite and doesn't always show frustration outwardly, but that shouldn't be mistaken for not caring. He was disappointed. Overall, this experience fell short of expectations. Going to a nicer shop doesn't always guarantee better results. If you don't have a regular barber here, it may be a risk. Response: Vicki, I want to clarify a few points, as your response does not reflect what occurred. I did not intervene during the haircut and only spoke up after it was clear the result did not match what my son requested. This was acknowledged by your staff, and I asked that it be corrected. While I was upset, I made a conscious effort to remain composed. I did not yell or use inappropriate language inside your shop, especially in front of children, as that is not something I believe is appropriate. The core issue is that my son did not receive the haircut he asked for. He went in with a full head of hair expecting a low taper fade, but left with a significantly higher skin fade that could not be reversed. Additionally, the razor irritation has now lasted several days and continues to cause him discomfort. I also made a deliberate choice not to identify the barber by name in my review. For that reason, I was surprised to see personal remarks about me and references to my child's school included in your response, as those are not relevant to the service provided. While I understand a barbershop is a social setting, clients still reasonably expect that personal interactions are not shared publicly. Including details from those interactions raises concerns about discretion and professionalism. My review reflects my experience so others can make informed decisions. Arturo is the best. My son is 12 and has been growing into his own style. The first time he went to Arturo he came out grinning ear to ear. Arturo gave him the exact cut he wanted. He was also friendly and held a conversation with my son the whole time too. It's a good vibe and clean shop with good amenities for grown ups but for a kid's haircut, it was too expensive. My son wanted to try so we did. I'm glad that finally there's a barbershop close to my apartment. I didn't have an appointment but they accommodated me. Everyone is nice and welcoming. I waited only for maybe 15mins, and got the chance to see all the works of the barbers. All good I must say! You'll never go wrong choosing any of the barbers. This was the second time I brought my 10 year old son in for a hair cut and both times were fantastic! We didn't have an appointment, but Max was able to squeeze my son in. My son has a sensory sensitivity, so he wiggles and squirms and basically wants to run away when he gets a hair cut hahaha! I let Max know what was going on with my son and oh my goodness did Max melt my heart. He was so kind, patient, sweet and silly with my son to make him feel comfortable. All I gotta say is this is the best barbershop ever. Friendly staff the owner is awesome.. I'm so glad to see them expand. I've been going to the one in San Jose for years. It took me awhile to find the right barber. Im very particular on who touches my hair. Then I met the owner and she is awesome . Cuts me when I need it due to my busy work schedule. The crew at both locations are awesome and they are all wonderful at their craft. They got a braider that also cuts which is huge. Her name is skitts . ( think I spelled it right) she braided me awhile back and her work was fantastic. If your looking for a barbershop with barbers who love their craft and love the people that come in. Then faded barbershop is the place to go... the price is expensive but I rather pay for quality then quantity.. especially cuz my hair and the barbers are worth it.
