Javier is my go-to barber he always does an amazing job on both my hair and beard. He takes the time to ask what I'm looking for and makes sure I'm dialed in before he starts. The attention to detail shows every time. Also has suggestions for lengths on my beard which helps as I can be indecisive. What I really appreciate is that the conversations are always genuine. Javier actually remembers you from your last visit, so it never feels forced or fake. The vibe here is relaxed and welcoming, and you can tell they take pride in their work. I found out about Garlic City Barbers through Javi. For the past 4 years, Javi, Randy, Caesar, or David have been cutting my hair. They just recently hire a new barber, who is also named David. All barbers have great skill and great customer service skills. They are now OPEN 7 DAYS a week. It is very easy to book an appointment by either calling the shop or visiting their website and booking with any of the Barbers. Upon my arrival, I am always warmly greeted by all the barbers. I'm not going to lie, I was losing faith in finding a quality, consistent, reliable barber in the city of Gilroy. I almost gave up and started to cut my hair myself! Being from Frisco and living in the eastbay for many years, finding a quality barber has never been an issue for me.... Gilroy have me a run for my money. Well, after many many months of research, due diligence, trial and error, going out of my way, giving multiple guys opportunities to give my son and I a fresh clean cut I FINALLY stumbled upon Garlic City Barbers. After booking an appointment online with Caesar (co-owner), I came up here and left fresher than a crispy wash on your favorite whip in August on a Sunday. The shop is super clean, spacious, and welcoming. That's big for me cuz I gotta lil guy I take up here with me and I need to make sure the environment is kid friendly, meaning not an over abundance of profanity use. TV's everywhere, well maintained restroom, and just an overall solid, consistent barbershop. Caesar asks you what style your looking for and delivers in a timely fashion. He definitely wants to make sure you are extremely happy with the cut your receiving. Either it's a fresh fade, taper, line up, beard he does it all at a high level. My son and I have been coming here over 6 months now and I have never been disappointed. I called in to see if they had and last minute appointments and I was able to get an appointment with David. Love making my husband get a trim here. All the barbers are really nice and skilled. It's great that it is walk-ins because with our schedule it is hard to commit to an appointment. The atmosphere is always clean, open and well lit which I appreciate. It is usually busy (good sign) but the wait is never that long. (these guys are efficient) The location is great, too- right downtown, so when I hang out with family, the guys can go get a quick trim while us ladies can shop and eat ice cream lol. I just moved to California 2 months ago from Las Vegas Nevada and I am really sceptical about anyone just cutting my hair. After looking through about 10 different barber shops around Gilroy, I came across Garlic City Barbers. I spoke with the owner Randy over the phone before I came in and he made me feel really comfortable. When I came in to get my hair cut I told him what kind of hair style I wanted. I showed him several pictures and ideas of what I wanted and Randy was so open to it and offered what he thought as well with the experience he has of different fades. When he was finished with my hair, I was extremely happy of how nice of a job he did. I will return to Garlic City Barbers because of not only the great look and hair style Randy and I came up with, but the customer service as well. Thank you so much Randy. As soon as I walked in I thought it would be a great place to get a haircut but I wasn't greeted by the 2 barbers cutting hair, didn't get an estimated time wait, once one of the barbers was done I thought I was next but he calmly just left the building without saying a word to me. My barber was actually nice but once he saw more customers come in he decided to quickly cut my hair since he was the only one present and didn't do such a great job. Went here for the first time yesterday since my regular barber at another shop went home early. The wait was a bit because as I walked in there were plenty of people waiting. When it was my turn, Randy took care of me. He did a great job! Very friendly and personable. I liked his work so much that I brought my little 8 year old nephew today to see Randy. My husband gets his hair cut here and they do a great job. He's been going here for over a year now. I recently took my baby brother (9yo) there to get a haircut and it is definitely not the place to take a child. They cuss... A lot. They had no filter even though there were children in the room. It's unfortunate. They do good work but I'd rather take my brother somewhere else even if I have to pay more. I know they're not a shop that specializes in kids cuts. I've just found me an awesome new spot to get lined up. Awesome looking shop, clean, and well lit up. The staff are are great, although there are only 2 barbers. The gentleman that cut my hair was awesome. I had at least 3months worth of hair on my head and usually it would take a barber a good 20-30mins, but Randy cut it to spec in 10mins. I was surprised at the speed and accuracy keeping within the requested hair style I wanted. Great to chat with and made me feel very welcome, being my first time. They pay attention to detail and take there time....which can be a good and a bad thing because the wait time can be anywhere from an hour to 2 hours with 3 barbers working, But when you get into the seat and they start cutting your hair the results are honestly worth the wait.
