I rarely leave reviews, but felt this warranted one. I spent over $750 on two jackets yesterday, the selection is excellent and most of the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, my experience at checkout left a sour note. The girl with dark curly hair working the cash register was dismissive from the get go. When my friend and I asked questions she acted as if we were putting her out, and when I requested a larger bag after my purchase, she visibly scoffed and rolled her eyes. It all was completely out of know where from the moment we walked in and especially for that level of spend, it honestly put a damper on what should have been a great visit. While searching for unique pieces throughout the city, I came across this spot. As I entered I didn't even get a hello but was stopped and asked if my bag could be held at the front. I looked around the room and I realized I was the only person of color there on top of being the only one asked to leave their bag. I have never stolen anything in my life, and I have worked very hard to become something of myself as a POC and I will not tolerate this discrimination. Just walked in today 4/30 at 2pm , was greeted for a second by a lady who told me about the sale tags and then walks off, I walked around the whole store without any interest from the worker and when I realized that she didn't even give me the time of day I decided to leave, I said thank you a total of 5x before she even poked her head from the back to see why I was saying thank you, it's because I received no personal attention as if they don't need a sale.... loss from them cause that Prada bag in the front is really nice and if my service was different I would have spent the top dollar for it.. read more

I just bought a nice Samuelsohn suit in perfect condition for $250, went home and found out their suits sell new for $1300!! This shop has a very good selection of men's business attire. They also have some more informal shirts and sweaters. Everything is organized by size and they have a good selection in every size (except for shoes). The service is helpful and knowledgeable. All the clothing is in new condition even if in fact it is slightly used. Unless you have so much money that you don't know what to do with it, I don't see why you would purchase business attire new rather than come here. read more

Another review referred to the staff as "snotty"; that's true. I brought a suit to try to sell on a Sunday afternoon recently. The lady at the desk said that it was great and that they'd take it. About three hours later the store sent me an e-mail to say that actually they had changed their minds. I don't live on the East Side, so going all the way back just because the shop was indecisive about what it actually wants to stock was irritating in the extreme. Not that the clerk cared. He became snippy and defensive when I suggested that perhaps they should be more mindful of the convenience of those who try to do business with them. Next time I'm going to skip them and just donate whatever I have to Housing Works to begin with--that's what I wound up having to do anyway. read more

I was told it was a great place. But, dude, I don't wear used clothing. I have a job. I was surprised. I make good coin but I don't want to lay down thousands on a Brioni blazer. (Cashmere, by the way. Fabulous. And a steal.) Bought several pairs of slacks and two blazers. A pair of brown wool Joseph Aboudd slack was $50 or 25% of list for new. A nice man with much more fashion sense than I told me the fit and looked good. (My wife later confirmed this.) He also very nicely told me a cashmere overcoat I was wearing was looking a bit threadbare. Listen: if you know brand names or you don't and you still want to look good, this is a great place. They have a great selection and the prices are pretty fair for the brands they're selling and the (generally very good) condition of the items. I imagine a lot of the stock comes from UES hedge fund wives who buy their husband's wardrobe every season then drop off whatever he does't wear. The staff is wack. They don't greet you or ask if you need help. If you do try to ask questions they're pretty unhelpful and dismissve. Whatever though, I'll probably keep going there in search of a steal on some Cuccinelli or Loro Piana. read more

Pedestrian designs at best, and incredibly overpriced. Filled with items that people bought in error, and wouldn't dream of wearing in public. Also, I find it hard to fathom why this store feels that a 20% discount off the original purchase price on their items, especially when said items are used, constitutes good business. Rejected perfectly good high-end materials, the girl was entirely dismissive and more occupied with flirting with a coworker while I looked at much of the less nice crap they were selling. No point in going here. Everything is way too expensive. You wouldn't think this is resale given how much money they want.

This place is terrific for very fine quality men's clothing. They know their labels! They can tell when an Armani is two or three years out of date. They lower the prices of the goods the longer they remain unsold so if you're an odd size you may be lucky to really get a bargain. I found that Hugo Boss suits seem to be made for my frame and have picked up several over the years. There are pieces in my wardrobe, like a chocolate brown cashmere fall jacket with soft contours that I never would have chosen by myself, but was recommended to me by the amazing Emile (who I considered my personal dresser before I got married to Anne Auberjonois, the fabulous costume designer). Emile is very kind to heterosexual males who have no idea how to dress. He's never once rolled his eyes and I'm sure I've given him plenty of reasons. read more

Please do not shop at this store. I bought two suits, one priced at $130 and one at $400. The one priced at $130 got a huge rip in it the 4th time I wore it that was repairable. The one priced $400 had small holes in it upon further inspection. Look at everything really closely and do not buy anything expensive as it seems a lot of their merchandise is very worn, although they still charge a lot of money for the clothes.
