Designer Revival is a very expensive consignment shop. I have looked at the prices and decided I rather just buy new than pay the price for used. I'm sure if you are able to spend the time returning and returning as items are marked down you may get the item you set your sights on for a decent price. I'm sorry but life is too short for me to spend my time on designer clothes. I do enjoy looking and I recommend you check it out if you are in the neighborhood and enjoy second hand shops. read more

A friend took me here, first time coming in, prices were ok - the person working here had an attitude though when I had asked a question. The selection was ok, service was lacking. I suppose that was the only downside of my interaction here. Aside from that, I had a good experience. Just don't rely on the service when it comes to the selection of things they have. read more

What a hidden gem in the UES! I was not expecting to buy anything but I found 2 items that I was obsessed with. I got a reversible bomber jacket and a long black leather coat. I had wanted to check this place out after seeing photos on the gram. Somehow I stumbled down this street one weekend morning when wandering around the UES. The selection was sick. So many beautiful, custom luxury pieces! Prices are still very high for a second hand shop-- even for "luxury items" in my opinion. It was quite crowded. However, the worst part of the experience was that NOT ONE SALES PROFESSIONAL offered any assistance. It wasn't clear exactly where the fitting rooms were. Dealt with unprofessional, rude women (in their 20's) who seemed ignorant about luxury, but are probably not being paid much. DR wanted the merchandise, but refused to give a price, which is illegal. The excuse was: THEY WERE THE EXPERTS. We then said we'd go elsewhere, so they accepted the merchandise and sent a price list, which indeed showed they were clueless about value. Went back to review with the owner Tiffany Keriakos, a woman in her late 50s, who said she was the true expert and "her girls" had made mistakes. Prices were agreed upon and a list was sent. Most prices had been reduced further by $10-20, so that they could pay seller a lesser percentage. We were then told there was a fee to expose merchandise, in addition to the huge % they take (more than most consignment shops ) unless you are selling an item that they judge to be worth thousands of dollars. When we tried to retrieve OUR OWN GOODS, they wanted $15 per item (which would have been about $400) and which could have never sold, as most items were not exposed. When we went in to check, we were told the merchandise had gone to a vintage show out-of-town without our consent. Of course, they did not sell anything despite the brands such as Chanel and YSL. Merchandise was finally picked up last week and thrown into a plastic bag without tissue paper or boxes. Owner of merchandise was not permitted to see her stuff and was even threatened that the cops would be called, simply because she insisted on verifying what was placed in plastic bags, EVEN THOUGH IT WAS HER OWN GOODS. A lot of the items were missing or ruined and are now unsalable. This place is being reported. It is a den of criminal activity. THERE ARE SO MANY GREAT CONSIGNMENT SHOPS IN NY WHO ARE UNETHICAL. Took my first trip to Designer Revival this weekend. I had been hearing about it for a while so I was excited to check it out. The store is surprisingly large once inside - it's made up of a few different rooms and everything is neatly organized and categorized. It's very clean and has such a luxury feel. They had a great selection of designer brands and everything looked very well taken care of. I did not purchase anything this time but I will definitely be back to browse soon. Here is the game at Designer Revival. They give you a decent selling price so you think you will get a fair split. What you don't know is they put your item on sale without your consent or knowledge. Now that your pieces are slashed in half, she will lower your percentage down to 30%, 20%, 10%. By the time you get your check it could be $30 for what would originally been $100. Tiffany you are slick. "Micheals Consignment" isn't too far and they don't pull this shady activity. Share the word and avoid this store. read more

I want to start by sharing I own several high end pieces and I'm in my early 20's, however I wasn't carrying any high end pieces around the city that day. I didn't appreciate the way my husband and I were treated. The older white woman that she mentioned is there on Tuesdays was condescending since my husband and I are young. We were visiting and stopped in. The employee immediately warned me the items in the case were very expensive, then continued to keep this distasteful topic. She was happy to show me some pieces but as soon as I started browsing the higher end Chanel pieces she warned me about the prices and was rude. Great selection & prices--but completely overshadowed by EXTREMELY rude, obnoxious staff. I popped in yesterday in search of a dress for an upcoming black-tie event, and was truly astounded by the following: - I was neither greeted nor even acknowledged upon entering the mostly empty shop. - While trying on a gown in one of the fitting rooms, one of the employees (presumably the owner?) quickly approached the room I was in, obnoxiously yelled "what's in here?", and then 2 seconds later, before I'd even had the chance to respond, she swiftly pushed back the curtain as I was half-naked & changing! She then yelled, "OH it's a PERSON!" without even apologizing. I was speechless! Why on earth she felt it was appropriate to barge in on a customer in the fitting room like that I have no clue. But needless to say I was not pleased! - About a minute later, while I was still in the fitting room, I overheard this same employee loudly ranting about how annoyed she was that there were people in the store (there were maybe 5-6 customers, at most, in the whole place.) I kid you not, she literally said: "why are there so many people here right now?! I WISH THEY WOULD ALL JUST LEAVE!" And leave I did! Despite the fact that the gown I tried on was gorgeous and fit like a glove, I couldn't bring myself to buy it because that would have meant supporting an establishment that clearly doesn't care about (or even WANT) customers. Disappointed I am writing this review because I am still in shock from my experience there. You know, racism is not always about hosing people and beating them in the streets, or even blatantly calling a person the N-word. Racism can also come in a more silent, discreet manner. So, I am Black and I walked into Designer Revival. A woman who appeared to be in charge of the place was standing there arranging clothing with another worker. I clearly said "Hello." She looked down and initially said nothing. Then within a few minutes of me standing there looking at clothes she very uncomfortably says hello back, with a slight quiver in her voice. I tried to overlook this. I then went into another area to check out clothes and a young white female worker was arranging clothing. It was a small space and only 2 other white female patrons were there. I said hello and she gave me a dirty look, eye contact and said NOTHING. She then kept staring at me wherever I went (keep in mind it's a small space). She amiably answered questions for the white female patrons and was cordial towards them. I have shopped in that store when it was under different ownership and have been there several times. Haven't been there in a while so I am thinking it may even be a newer crew? Whatever the case, I got a very bad whiff of ignorance and discontentment all because of the color of my skin. Never felt that way there before. That's NOT COOL AT ALL. This is a diverse neighborhood and surprise surprise... black people live there too! They need to treat everyone with cordiality when they enter the store. Only giving them an extra star because I have been able to sell a few items here, but their customer service and management system needs a lot of improvement. When you drop of your items, you get an email with the prices they'll be listed for and if you have any issues with it, you're expected to call right away and let them know either to negotiate or to remove your items from being listed. The most recent time I dropped off items, I didn't receive the email so I called in to follow up. They said it could take anywhere between 7-10 business days, so I let it go. I leave on vacation, come back, only to realize I never got the email, so I emailed requesting the pricing and received an email back with a few prices I really did not agree with. Unfortunately also included in that email was a quantity of 0 for the items, meaning that it had sold. When I called about how upsetting this was, they explained that under contract that don't need a "sellers" approval to sell at this price. Despite not remembering having signed something that included this, the email with the prices they do send you DOES say to let them know if you're unhappy with the prices, which, if I had received the email as I should have after 7-10 days, I would have done. However, I never got that email and thus never had the chance, despite someone telling me I'd be getting it soon. I was extremely upset about my item being sold at a price I wasn't comfortable with, knowing how much I had paid and the condition it was in (polarized, included cleaning cloth, case, outer box and pamphlet), this was not something I am ok with and no longer feel like leaving my items there is a safe bet. Additionally, when I went to pick up another item that hadn't sold (a pair of shoes), they threw out the box I had left, which, for reselling elsewhere, is super important. When I asked about it, I was asked "Oh, they didn't tell you? They probably threw it out." Nope, that's another thing they didn't tell me and now to sell them somewhere else will be significantly harder. Do not see myself coming back here any time soon. read more

However, today, it was one of the most awkward and mortifying experiences; to the point, I almost felt targeted (dare I say?) The elderly woman working literally "profiled" me and repeatedly told me "only serious customers could try on multiple items," and proceeded to follow me around the store (to the point two other customers walked out over how awkward it was). It was only when she found out that I resided in the UES (down the street) and worked in media her demeanor changed. I was speechless that this was how customer service now works. The younger girl (who was lovely) was also working and was visibly uncomfortable with how this woman was hounding me and following me around the store. To be blunt: why would I want to try on multiple items, if I wasn't serious about them? She told me "Only serious people could try them on?" I work in fashion--this was wild. More so, I listened to her (for lack of better terms) talk shit about every single person after they left the store? She's lucky I didn't post the video I took and post it on my verified Instagram. I heard great things about this place in terms of amazing finds and decided to check it out while visiting New York from California. Yesterday I forgot my mask in my Uber and the lady at the register was kind enough to give me one so I could shop around. There is a variety of items from all brands. I was torn between an Isabel Marant coat and a Chanel cropped coat. I tried them both on and was still going back and forth. Both of the workers stepped in and gave me helped up opinions and I ended up choosing Chanel for the versatility. Both ladies were very friendly and welcoming and the pieces at this store were quality and rare finds. I would leave 0 stars at this point. My husband bought me my first LV purse on 12/21, I was so excited. Well until I received the purse today 1/3 and it's the wrong bag! I ordered a purse at the price of $1060 and received a purse that was also sold except for the price of $775. Huge difference! My purse is now in the hands of the person who paid $775, do you think they will be honest and contact the store saying they received a superior bag? I seriously hope they do. First time ordering and I was really super nervous. I don't like their return policy and the fact that i am unable to see who the shipping carrier. Like I said I never ordered from them and with their return policy being the way it is how r we as the consumer soupose to know if it is authentic, have wear and tears, or just not happy with the purchase. I've only visited this store once like 3 weeks ago & I would definitely come back. Not that this matters but ill mention this anyways b/c readers are probably curious, but I'm a mix of Mexican, Puerto Rican, & Filipino. Everytime she saw me carrying about 2-3 items, she offered to take them off my hands & hold it in the fitting room for me. Whether it was to make browsing easier for me or b/c she didn't trust me, I was glad for the gesture anyways b/c it was challenging carrying that weight in my arms while trying to reach up a little to browse some dresses. I did like 3 rounds of picking 5 items, trying them on, choosing between the 5, & browsing the store again to try on more things. The lady who welcomed me in & helped me w/my items in the fitting room (not sure if she's the owner) happily said to go ahead & take my time & that she wants me to feel comfortable in the store. I picked out mostly theory stuff, one ralph lauren coat & a Tahari skirt. She even showed me that all my choices (except the coat) were on a huge sale so I spent half than what I thought I'd spend. This lady was so nice to me & this other girl working there was busy restocking and going through bags of items but she did manage a "hello" to me at one point and I said hello back. While ringing me up, the first lady & I conversed a bit. Honestly I was super shy most of the time I was there b/c she was super friendly & I have terrible social skills (not used to super friendly social people) so I was super nervous. I usually enjoy being left alone while shopping unless I ask for help, but I'm glad she continued talking to me. I need to work on my social skills haha. I ended up spending i think $438 on 1 Ralph Lauren wool coat, theory sweater dress, theory skirt, theory blazer/jacket, & Tahari skirt (wish I took pictures to post here). i ordered the MCM brown handbag. Once the bag arrived the box looked as if it had been through a storm. The purse had no stuffing in it to fluff it out , it was also missing the strap. It came with no return label. I contacted the store via email because they don't take call. When they responded to my email I was then informed the bags a pre-owned which is not on the website. Total of the bag was $451 they will only refund me $380. Stay away from this sight if you are searching to purchase a new bag please bypass this store. TERRIBLE Customer Service I recently went into Designer Revival to take a look at a Louis Vuitton bag I saw on the website (and hoped was in the store). I was also hoping to buy some other items as well (i.e. shoes, a belt, and clothing), as I felt I could splurge on some items without feeling overly guilty. I had done a lot of research on the store, and decided it would be a great spot - but I was wrong. After looking around the store, I asked an older woman (who appeared to be a manager/in charge) about the specific Louis Vuitton bag I had been looking for, as I wanted to see if what was displayed was all that was being sold or if they had more (as the online item wasn't displayed). I was snootily told "well obviously what we have out is what we have" and "I don't know why anyone wants to buy one of those bags, I think they're SO ugly." She then proceeded to walk by "more expensive bags" (i.e. Chanel, YSL, etc.) noting "well those will be too much money" - without even knowing what I was willing to spend, or if I would be willing to purchase one. She also tried to sell me a bag that I did not like. I told her the bag wasn't my style and I was not interested, as I came in for a specific bag, yet AGAIN, she proceeded to tell me "I just don't understand, those Louis Vuitton bags are so ugly, why do you want one of those?" The last straw, was her exclamation of "well LV bags are still expensive and will cost you a lot of money, you know that right?" I told her I was fully aware of how much designer bags cost, thanked her for her time, and left. I was planning on buying a few items that day (including the Chanel purse that was "too much money" for me), but after the terrible way I was treated, I refused to purchase anything. If this store wants new customers to return AND make purchases, they need to be treated respectfully. I WILL NOT be returning to Designer Revival. I have been shopping at Designer Revival for many years and find that their selection of clothing is fantastic, their prices are perfect and the people who work there bend over backwards to make sure that you're happy with your purchase. I have bought designer bags, shoes, clothing and even fur coats from them and each piece has been meticulously cared for and looked brand new. On top of that, they authenticate their bags with Entrupy, so I can be assured that what I am buying is real. Very few consignment stores offer that. Recommend then highly! read more

Do NOT go to 5th Ave when you can come here!!!! This place has really current high end designer pieces for great prices and had a big 70% rack and other items on sale, some for up to 50% off. Prada, Gucci, an entire Chanel rack, YSL, Armani. I bought a gorgeous pair of Louboutins for $175 and the original price was $1200. Also, I found the Chanel ballerina flats I've been wanting for years, a YSL dress, DVF wrap dress, Armani dress, Carolina dress, and two pairs of shoes and spent around $900. Most STILL HAD THE TAGS ON THEM!!!! God bless you upper east side women with so much disposable cash that you don't know what to do with it. I'll be back in the spring when I get my bonus money.
