I love this thrift store so much! I went for the first time yesterday and had a blast looking through the selection. I'm most definitely trying to change my shopping habits when it comes to clothing, and Unique Boutique is one of the thrift stores that's both affordable AND stylish. Kind of your average thrift shop- a lot of crap with a handful of good things mixed in. I noticed while looking through the women's clothes that there are a lot of smaller sizes (XS, S, 0-6) but few mediums and very few large or plus sizes. All the clothes are mixed together though, no attempt at organizing by size. In the end I got a pretty mug for $3 but that was it. Prices were relatively low, but again most of it was not in very good condition. read more

This is my favorite place to shop for used furniture and books! In the past I've moved so much. At times I need to find a special table (or cabinet) to fit a spot. I always check Unique Boutique before buying new. For the most part they have products that are cared for by the previous owner. You can always find the book section in a mess. They can't keep it neat as this is a super popular section of the store. They get some great reads. I found books for family members that have special hobbies. You never know what you'll find; cooking, knitting, sewing, history, poetry, modern, classics, etc. Same goes for the variety of CD's. I've only purchased books. The ones they have are in good condition. The clothes are arranged neat, as well as, belts, and shoes. They have a fitting room. I love the selection of glass items. Little fancy dishes make great gifts. Nothing chipped, cracked or unsightly! The store is currently decorated for the holidays. If you want something better grab it when you see it. I came back today for something I saw in the window on Saturday. It was gone! Check out my pictures. If you like what you see, go in and take a look around. I can't speak for their other locations. I am NUTS about this place. I moved (unwillingly) back to NYC from Europe during the pandemic, and my entire household was stuck there for several months. When I needed pots, pans, dishes, lamps, etc., this place was my saving grace. I got fabulous stuff here without breaking the bank - great antiques, some lovely art, etc. I don't need much anymore - but I still stop in a few times a week because stock constantly turns over. I frequently find lovely gifts for friends and occasionally a bargain for myself that I just can't turn down. It's also a great spot for finding gently used clothing. And the manager is delightful. Books come in from all over the neighborhood from 1st to Fifth Avenue sometimes personal libraries collected over a lifetime and the one ones waiting for you will jump out for you at $1 paper and $2 hard cover - can't go wrong you risk only buying too many for your personal library! This little gem of a store is something you might miss if you're walking too fast up 3rd ave. There are plenty of cool things to look at and admire. The book selection is definitely a little overwhelming, but if you have the time, you can find something neat. I'm taking off 1 star for the clothes organization, namely the lack thereof. I don't think there's any sort of system to how the store is laid out or organized; men's stuff is mingled with women's, and sizes are all over the place. Just moved to area and consider myself a "thrift queen" I loved how cute and small this place is. It's clean and not overwhelming to dig through. It's organized by clothes categories. Not by sizing or color. (Like most community thrift shops) I loved how nice the man was up front ! They had a lot of great brands for super cheap. Walked out with YSL bag for $20 and jacket from YSL as well for $10. Not much vintage clothing but great brands. LOTS OF BOOKS and great pieces for your home. We just so happened to find this little resale shop while walking around New York. They had quiet a bit or good quality clothing for a great price. My oldest daughter picked up an Uniqlo puff light weight winter jacket for less than $20. They also have a great shoe selection and a vintage section as well. The owner seemed friendly and we really enjoyed this shop. Am sure if we are in the area again we will make a point to stop by. read more

I lost interest in thrift stores for a bit because many of the ones I went to were still pretty expensive. But Unique Boutique is what a thrift shop should be! I stopped by this place for the first time with friends because it was close to where we were staying. The place is compact but not claustrophobic. The displays near the front of the store are for watches and jewellery. (Also, check under the cash counter for more jewellery and trinkets!) The rack on the right side of the wall is full of women's tops. I don't think they're sorted by any order so take your time going through them. They're a mish-mash of your everyday tops from Old Navy to Ralph Loren fitted shirts to DKNY/BCBG/higher-end apparel. I've only gone through the rack twice so I can't say exactly what the most common sizes are but I did see a lot of sizes 4 - 6 and XS, S. Oh, the best part: nothing on this rack is over $15. I was delighted to pick up a BCBG dress shirt for $13, a Calvin Klein dress shirt for $7, and a GAP cardigan for $7. Can you believe it?? After this rack, there are two along the walls that hold suits and blazers. Some are full sets that come with the pants. Nothing here is over $30. Which is pretty amazing since I saw a full Giogio Armani suit set here. Near the middle-back of the room are racks for dresses, coats, jeans, and skirts. I found another steal today when I went back - a Club Monaco skirt originally for $139 being sold for $13. I snagged it immediately. The skirt selection isn't huge but there are great brands like YvesSaintLaurent, Armani, Banana Republic, etc. Just hope that your size is there! I didn't look at the books at all but I overheard the owner say that it was $2 for a hardcover and $1 (or $1.50?) for the softcovers. There is also one small fitting room in the back. You can only bring 4 items in at a time, and don't bring your bag...but the owner was such a nice guy when I talked to him after picking out like 20 items that he relaxed those rules. I should also mention that there is a nice stand of shoes/boots in the middle of the room. I didn't take a close look but my friend picked up a nice pair of faux-suede grey boots for $12. 5 stars for the selection, price, and service. The owner is a wonderful person who treats every customer so nicely. One last note: he said that they get new shipments in every week. So if you didn't find what you wanted, keep checking back for great deals! I know I'M going back. read more

Solid experience! I came in today, a Saturday afternoon, and was able to find some good pieces for work for great prices! I got a blouse, a tshirt, a dress, a pair of pants, and 2 cardigans - the total was under $35!!! Whuuut! All of the clothes I got are in great condition, no signs of wear and some are name brand :) I'm very happy. I recently moved to the area and wanted to check out this place after my roommate and I walked by it one night. I was pleasantly surprised by how many great things I found! Everything I saw was under $15 dollars (except for coats and suits) and very clean. The store even has 50% off certain colored tags, making things even more affordable. There is only one small dressing room but it was open and I was able to quickly try things on. The owner was very pleasant as he rang me up although the majority of the time while I was in the store he was busy hanging items up and pricing them (however it's a thrift store so I didn't need much assistance while perusing items). It also seemed very easy to bring in donations and definitely will keep this mind while clearing out my closet! Very glad I found this spot! read more

I visited "Unique Boutique' for the first time in December. Absolutely FABULOUS. A lot bigger that the average thrift store. Sells a variety of merchandise including female & male clothing, shoes, jewellery, cd's, houseware and paintings. Lots of brand names to chose from, such as Banana Republic, Gap & Chanel. I unfortunately did not find anything for myself, but I found a pair of pants for a close friend. Thrift stores are always a little hit and miss. The pants were Gap brand and only $12.99.....BARGAIN!!!! Pants range from $10-$15, shirts range from $5-$14 and shoes range from $15-$25. Be sure to check for the quality of some of the merchandise. It may be brandname, but be careful it doesn't have any tears, loose threads or stains!! I would totally recommend you visit "Unique Boutique''. Wonderful thrift store! Very adorable and friendly people on a Sunday visit. Tons of books to peruse through, all for less than $2. Shoes are a little old, but the clothing is definitely worth going through. My treasure was a vintage chocolate brown oversized coat by Christian Dior for $29.99 staff was very kind and not obtrusive at all. Not a lot in the jewelry and housewares department, at least during my visit, but a very cute place to stop by when you have time to kill! read more

Two of my friends and I checked out Unique Boutique on a Saturday around 2pm. There were quite a few people coming in and out, but it didn't feel stuffed at all! Only issue I found was that there is only one dressing room so I had to wait a while before I was able to try anything on. I was able to get a dress, a men's coat (which looked fabulous on me) and high-waisted Black jeans for $37. Which is a little on the pricey side for a thrift store... but not too bad. Found this place like a year ago, pretty close to the six train. Found my fav sweater by Oscar de la renta before for only $5.. Not only that I got a brand new tank with tags on from urban outfitters for like $3 when this place was having a 50% promotion. We spent about 30 minutes looking through the store which was small and didn't have an amazing selection of items (obviously that changes daily, but over all we were underwhelmed). So finally we went to check out with about $20 worth of items and the guy working put my debit card through and said it didn't work. So I check my bank account and I have plenty of money, so I ask him to do it again and watch him this time. He puts it through wrong on the machine (it's an error message, not a message saying my card was declined) when I tell him this, he shrugs and says it's my card, not his machine. So my fiancée tries her card (which is from Canada and only works as credit here) and he tried to put it through as debit and then blamed us for it not working. We ended up leaving the items there and shopping at goodwill. Horrible customer service. Never shopping there again. read more

I was searching for thrift stores in New York near Central Park and found this one. They have a big selection of clothes, both for men and women. The prices are reasonable, I bought a hoodie for only $9, only the staff isn't really nice. They don't hound you, which is nice, but don't seem happy to be there either.
