As we entered Savers, we were quickly greeted by the staff. The store was a nice sized one and very clean! Everything was very organized! They have clothing, household items, books, purses, bags, jewelry, shoes, and more. It all depends on the donations. The prices seem very steep to me. I guess I've never thrifted in Los Angeles before?!?! They are open seven days a week from 10 am to 8 pm. You can join their club and get points towards a discount. 100 points equals 1 reward. Each reward is a 20 percent off your next purchase. You'll have to read the fine prints. If you're 55 plus, shopping on Tuesdays is a perk! They say you can get 30 percent off. ( EXCLUDES new merchandise with the red tags on them ). I would ask the clerks about this before shopping and ask about their "restrictions may apply" policy! Overall, it was a nice tour of the store. Know your prices vs shopping secondhand prices. Employees were very helpful and friendly. Ample parking!

I know this is a "for profit" second hand store, but Goodwill is wild with their limited hours and no longer accepting donations at this time response when I call. Also, Savers gives you a 25% off purchase coupon, Goodwill has gone down to 10%. If I were to put them in order of where I'd go thrifting, it would still be Goodwill, then Savers, then Salvation Army. Also, on Yelp & Google it still has holiday hours - this place is open for business as well as accepting donations daily from 10am-8pm.

I found a beautiful 14k gold cross necklace with real diamonds that was displayed for $300, along with a 20% off sign in booth 10. I asked the owner what the price would be with the discount. Instead of honoring the displayed price, she weighed the necklace, realized it was 14k gold with diamonds, and told me she would only sell it to me for $700. She also said she could instead buy it for what it was listed and sell it for even more. (Great.. didn't need to know that.) As a customer, it was frustrating to be quoted one price on display and then be told a much higher price after asking to purchase the item. It felt misleading and left me with a very negative experience. Because of this experience, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this store. I believe customers should be able to rely on the prices displayed and be treated with honesty and respect toward hardworking people who love to support small businesses.

He says antique dealers come in and buy his stuff to sell for more elsewhere. I believe it. His prices are reasonable and negotiable, but he wasn't born yesterday. I found out what he pays for rent, and its a wonder he doesn't charge more. I bought a few things (including a fab $5 plastic bread box from the 50s or 60s) and was due a dollar change. He didn't have it. I told him to keep the dollar, but he insisted I scour the store for something else to get my money's worth. Once he saw my hesitance, he started to look around on my behalf as I walked toward the door. He offered a dusty card, an old frame, but my favorite was an iron meat grinder, that weighed around 20 pounds. It had the date melded onto its form: 1926. As charming as it was, I took an old CBS sign instead.

There's something especially disappointing about going into a thrift store connected to an organization whose mission is supposed to be helping people, being quoted one price, being charged another, and then being told essentially, "Sorry, all sales are final." Jackie and I were shopping here and she picked out 13 comic books, along with clothing and several other items. The comics did not have individual prices clearly marked, so BEFORE purchasing them, we specifically asked the cashier how much the comic books were. She told us $1 each. Pretty simple. Thirteen comics, $1 each. When it was time to pay, Jackie needed to unlock her card on her phone, but she couldn't get an internet connection inside the store. She stepped next door to Ralphs to get a connection and unlock her card, then came back and completed the purchase. When we got home, Jackie realized the total was much higher than she had calculated, so we looked closely at the receipt. 12 Books -- $12.00 And then: 1 "bric" -- $24.99 Excuse me?? Apparently the 13th comic book somehow stopped being a "book" and became a $24.99 "bric." But here's the part that really bothered us: that $24.99 sticker was NOT on the comic/backing when we originally brought it to the counter. We specifically remember that because the lack of a price was WHY WE ASKED THE CASHIER HOW MUCH THE COMICS COST IN THE FIRST PLACE. After the purchase, however, there was suddenly a $24.99 sticker on the backing behind that comic. I'm not going to claim I saw who put that sticker there because I didn't. But I can absolutely say what we personally observed: it wasn't there when we asked the price, we were verbally told $1, and afterward there was a $24.99 sticker and a $24.99 "bric" charge on the receipt. We went back to the store thinking this would be an obvious mistake that could simply be corrected. Instead, we were told "all sales are final" and that Jackie could only receive store credit. No. "All sales are final" applies when someone buys something and later changes their mind. Jackie wasn't asking to return something because she didn't like it. She was disputing being charged $24.99 for an item she was specifically told would cost $1. And please don't dismiss this as "it's only $23.99." That money matters. Jackie doesn't have money to throw away. She has a mortgage and bills to pay, and like many people, she shops at thrift stores because she's trying to stretch her money. We have the receipt and photographs, and we're posting them with this review so people can see exactly what we're talking about. Buyer beware: ask the price, take a picture if an item isn't marked, and CHECK EVERY LINE OF YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE YOU WALK OUT THE DOOR. Because apparently asking the price beforehand isn't enough.

I met one of the vendors at the Rose Bowl swap meet after buying a Late Registration tour shirt and was lucky enough to get their instagram for this shop. (@playoffssfv) So with plans to try to do some trading I packed some of my tees i wished to swap in a bag and came in on a Thursday around opening. Upon entering I was greeted by 2 of the vendors and I had quickly explained that I had some clothes that I'd think the vendors would see to be great trades. After their selections of which tees of mine they were interested in, I was lucky enough to get offers for credit at their personal racks set up within the store. They both had great taste and a lot of selection to sort through. In the end, I traded 5 tees that no longer fit me for 3 new fresh and colorful hits to add to my rotation. I think they gave me fair credit for what I had brought in, considering my 3 picks from their racks were priced at a total of an $80 value had I not traded anything in. Overall the style of clothes for sale at the vintage mall that is Playoffs were grunge, modern/vintage street wear, sports teams, and a lot of other off the wall pieces. You won't have to dig for long to find something you like if you're into pop culture. I'd return to shop, and even eventually try to trade again with other vendors there.
