Wow ! Am I furious or what? So I took a few items to the closet trading company branch in Westlake village for resell. One of them was a new 400$ red leather coat . Some items sold but the pricey leather coat didn't. I kept checking weekly to see the status. Suddenly yesterday the item disappeared off their site and my account. I called today and that's when I was taken aback. According to the sales lady they keep it for three months and then if you don't ask for it in writing at least a week before the three months expire then the item is literally theirs to keep. They don't even send you an e mail or text reminder . Just poof - gone! apparently they put it in small letters as part of their contract when you first consign but never actually tell these details to you in person. This is theft in broad daylight guys ! #closettradingcompany read more

Who doesn't love snagging current season designer stuff for way less than retail? I finally have the closet of my dreams! Every time I go, I find brands like ALO, SKIMS, LV, Prada, Louboutins, Free People, Anine Bing, Reformation, Aritzia, Ulla Johnson, Lululemon, Zimmermann, Chanel, Gucci, Miu Miu, Fendi, R13, Off-White, Isabel Marant, Mother, Veronica Beard, Tiffany & Co, Rag & Bone, Paige, Aviator Nation, Anthropologie, Frame... honestly, I could go on forever. Just picture a Nordstrom--but way better! Everything designer comes with an authenticity slip too:-) They post their new items everyday to Instagram which is nice to see if I want to go in and try things on. All that only cost me less than $150.00 including tax. Has a parking lot, not sure about restrooms. That's all I have to say until I return, when I am in the area. We love the Retail Therapy sessions held on the first Friday of every month, not only is there wine, cheese and crackers and sweets and treats, but the entire store is discounted 15% - that's always a welcome bonus. Who didn't love a discount?! My most favorite type of therapy. We've enjoyed getting to know the owners and some of the dealers who happen to be there when we are, they're helpful and informative. And on the QT, sometimes they authorize discounts - if they can - on the items in their booths, especially when you buy multiple items. I saw on their Instagram that the next Retail Therapy session will be a Christmas Party - we'll be there with bells on and bringing our shopping list! Highly recommended to others. Instead of honoring the displayed price, she weighed the necklace, realized it was 14k gold with diamonds, and told me she would only sell it to me for $700. She also said she could instead buy it for what it was listed and sell it for even more. (Great.. didn't need to know that.) As a customer, it was frustrating to be quoted one price on display and then be told a much higher price after asking to purchase the item. It felt misleading and left me with a very negative experience. Because of this experience, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend this store. I believe customers should be able to rely on the prices displayed and be treated with honesty and respect toward hardworking people who love to support small businesses.

We had no idea, as to "our" budget, except it was given to us our wedding gift. My paternal aunt purchased, all of our wedding flowers here and placed together by family, with love. We were there, bright and early and got best quality flowers. It was day or two, before they would be used. They must be preserved, freshly and kept them inside my bathroom, in dark, cold room & cranked up AC. All of it was placed in bathtub for hydration.

First the website mentions parking on the roof and we could not find this parking. There was an area blocked off, but it didn't say full. Yes we could have found street parking further away, but I was already frustrated not having found their lot and my partner was just like I'll just pay. Let's just go across the street. Next even though it is mentioned on the website (I don't remember seeing it despite looking at the website multiple times) and there was a $2 entrance fee. what am I paying $2 for? Why am I paying $2 to shop and spend more money? I'm sorry just on the way there as we got closer, there are so many flower shops around the mart so I don't see why you wouldn't just go to one of those and get your flowers without having to pay an additional fee. So now, we are already $14 out-of-pocket and we havent done anything but try to park and step inside. We get inside we look around and I honestly did not find the prices to be that different from a farmers market perhaps a slightly bigger bouquet, or a couple of dollars cheaper, but there was nothing that was like ooh, this is a great deal. We ended up buying a large bouquet of lilies for $25. There is a stall in the back that had what I would consider actually good price prices. Five stems for $10 and a big bushel of another kind of flower for $6. We got those as well. My partner also really liked the plant guy and bought a plant from him from $20. Now here is where I really will not be back. I stopped at a stall called Choice America. I saw a really pretty set of mum's and asked how much they were & was told $10. The guy helping me then confirmed that they were $10 with somebody else. He then went on to say that one with eight stems was a higher price that I don't remember because I knew I wasn't getting that.When I got to the counter to actually pay, the woman was going back-and-forth with another customer about some order. They both seemed equally frustrated. Why is this important?.. because when it was my time to pay she said $10. I handed her a $20 bill. She opens the register and pulls out a five and some ones throws up her hands. I deduced that already being frustrated this is just one more thing on top as she doesnt have enough change to give me and instead turns to me and says $12.50. I kind of stumble and I say for what... tax or something? and she goes yeah tax clearly lying! Even if they did charge tax, which no other stall did, sales tax in Los Angeles on $10 it's not $12.50. The unfortunate problem is that I am black and I am not afforded the luxury to say something back because then I'm seeing as an angry black woman, have the police called on me not being believed etc. etc. so I just have to bite the bullet and get scammed and ripped off of my money. My partner and I both agree that it was not worth the hassle to go, but he really wants to take me to the restaurant across the street so we would go back to the plant guy and we would go back to the stall in the back but even those are BIG IFS as neither of us has any desire to ever go back to the Flower Mart. I feel like overall. The whole place is a money grab, you should save your money and go to your local farmers market or visit one of the many other vendors that were around the area without having to pay an admission fee to even buy flowers. Or better yet be bold like the elderly lady who accosted us as we were leaving and asked "are you all done in there can I have your sticker?" I was already too flustered to even recognize what she was asking till after my partner happily handed his over.

They low-ball you so much if you bring in items to consign that it's like you are practically giving away your items for free. If you have unique, highly sought after items you are better off selling them on Poshmark or elsewhere. It's just not worth your time. read more

I stopped by right away because it mentioned a Barnes & Noble being one of the stores there. First, I spotted M. Fredrick. I saw those gorgeous, hand-picked by their buyer. I didn't realize quite how much less expensive ever was in LA compared to San Francisco. Now, this many years later, it's no longer a thought nor a thing because I've lived here so long, but it was astonishing to me back when I was freshly 22. I picked out about 20-25 pieces of the most beautiful jeans, sweaters, shirts, shoes, tank tops and dresses. I also bought a pair of sweatpants that felt like thick silk, but mostly, like a white tiger- they were the first thing I bought the next morning on my break from work; so, I vividly remember that they were $600 before tax, which, to be honest, I did think they were on the pricey side, but I didn't think of it again. The many items I had purchased the afternoon prior came to almost $23,000, but I never ever in my life looked at prices of anything, so, it was no thing and to this day, I remember probably 7/8ths of what I bought. The clothes were definitely worth it and I would do it again, even now. The only problem is that they don't make clothes how they used to. We don't have the materials or aren't willing to use them on designer boutique clothing. Every chance I could, I went to an M. Fredric store for the next 10 years.
