Very nice thrift store that displays holiday snd themes items. I bought several fourth of July pillows and decorative flags.

I drive over the hill to this thrift shop. I drop off stuff snd I always find a few great treasures. Today I found 11 gold plate chargers for $3, which I will use at Christmas under my Lenox China. My friend found 4 wine glasses with pink stems, $2! Seriously, the best thrift store in Simi. And they support a good cause. Always fun to check out what they have. read more

Alpine attic is a true thrift store with great prices and true value. I bought two crystal items, brass and other figurines recently. They have tons of great deals on art and clothing. Decent pricing for those coming for items. I'm a crafter so their craft corner was a great site for me! Patterns for a dime and notions for 50 cents. Cardstock for $1 and $2 a pack. Really sad to be writing this review. I love this store for its good prices and carrying crafting materials but today a negative customer service experience has made me wary... I had put a Christmas tree on hold to pick up later (paid for in full, just hadn't picked it up), basically just a hold. My mom met me over there to pick it up and we realized the tree way too big for the space (+ was a lot more beat up and crappy than I'd realized.) Since i never took it out of the store and wasn't going to get a different one i asked if i could just have my money back / have store credit (since I've been going there at least once a week for 9months). (I've had terrific experiences with everyone else) The male worker went on a tangent about how he 'hasn't gotten paid in 7 years of "working" there' (volunteering) basically saying... what? Had nothing to do with refunding / giving store credit to a frequent patron of the store. The lack of care for customer experience/ attempt to guilt trip me was unacceptable to me. I was treated as though i was trying to screw them out of money to send in need kids on a trip to camp or do something shady.... Will not be going in again if he's working there. And honestly pretty peeved that i paid for the tree and they're going to sell it twice. Kind of scammy to me. read more

Today I came across to this light. They price it for $50. I look at it in google with same serial number and it's $59 only.There's not much difference.it's a rip off. The new from the thrift store is already open and might be use too. But like I said Hello the price is too much for the thrift store. I ask the manager about it and he said "oh the last time I looked at it it's $200 online. I don't know where you found that price but I bet you it's not $200. Because I've been to look out in this light since last year and it never been $200. And he said too " oh you also have to pay shipping. So you mean you added some shipping charger out of the $50?Most websites don't charge for shipping. I came to your store why you care about the shipping? I bought a lot of stuff here and donate. But I notice this year their price started to go up specially vintage. I will stick to Second Story and Tiny Treasure instead. Their price is more reasonable even if it's a vintage. You are not a collector store you are local thrift store. You should price your item to what people can afford especially when people donated it only. You are now no difference with Goodwill, it's just all about business. I'm so sad about this. I used to like you not anymore. read more

I shop here all the time for used movies & shows. They have a great selection when they get stuff donated to them. I only come by once or twice a week. I also donate to them when I can. I hope the clothes, shoes, movies, kitchen items & other stuff will be helpful to others. The staff is super friendly. They see me, they greet & smile, and sometimes we'll have a chat. I've never had problems with them. The people who work there, will ask if you need anything, help you if you need it, do their work or remain quiet behind the counter. As far as pricing is concerned, they're fair. They don't have a large selection like other thrift shops, but they sell what they can. Occasionally they sell new, but the majority is used. The previous two postings gave the place a one star. Saying the staff wasn't friendly, or the prices were unfair to them. First, the person who said the staff mocked them, who were they? Do you have a name or description of the people who made those bad comments towards you? And to the second person who said the price of those lights which normally go for $59 & you saw it at Alpine for $50. Different people price the items. However, I think the price is fair. Based on the size of the box & what you're getting. The staff does look inside & makes sure the items is in working condition before selling it. Grant you, the items are used, there could be scratches & markings, but this is a small business. They try to give the buyer like me a reasonable price. I would ask the person who gave the store a one star to bump it up to at least three stars or delete your comment. To give the place a one star because you felt the price of the lights were unfair, is unfair to them. If you can find it cheaper somewhere else, why immediately rip this store with a one star? Just shop at the place you can find it cheaper. Anyway, I wished I had known about this place years ago. I would've gotten more stuff from them. I hope they'll be around for a long time. I really appreciate the staff & will continue to shop at this place. read more

I'm not from the Simi Valley area and visited the store today after searching up thrift stores in the area. I was absolutely delighted with my visit to Alpine Attic. Men's tees were 50 cents, and there was an amazing clearance section in the back with clothing at 75% off! I got several amazing designer jackets and sweaters for $1.50 or less on clearance. The regular clothing prices are incredible too, mostly under $8! They have a color of the week sale too, and other awesome promotions (like 2 for $1 winter scarves, cheap sandals, and more) throughout the store. The volunteers at the store are so nice and helpful too - I got to meet Alice and Lois at the register and they were so friendly and fun to talk to! Also, during shopping I was struggling a bit carrying 20+ items from clearance (the deals were too good lol), and one of the volunteers came by and offered to place the items behind the counter (such a relief!) The employees are volunteers so, be kind. I got an excellent necklace. I was looking for earrings since I do not have any with me and I'm thinking the piercing holes may close up. You know of all the things one could obsess about right now, this is what I choose. So, the necklace has a charm that says 'just keep swimming,' along with a blue jewel and a small turtle charm. I have a friend who loves turtles, I may enjoy this for awhile then pass it along to them. I also found some books. Lucky for me, books and jewelry were half off today. Today we were mocked for about 20 minutes by the staff for asking if something was on sale. We tried to walk away. We made it clear we didn't think it was funny. We made it clear our feelings were getting hurt and we just wanted to pay and go and they didn't stop. I thought this place was meant to help those in need? We ARE those in need. That's why we are asking if something at a thrift store is on sale or not! I've never had a place be so incredibly hypocritical in its message. It was appalling. I love this store. They have the clothes organized by type, AND SIZE! I hate digging through clothes trying to find not only the size tag, but the size I'm looking for. Bonus round: they have a dressing room! At most thrift stores there is no try-on/no return. $7 for a pair of jeans isn't a good deal if they don't fit right. Like I said, love this place! The employees are always so helpful and the owner is very nice. The employees Kimberly and Jeffrey make this place fun to visit. One of the best parts is that all of their proceeds go to fund a summer camp for children so you can be sure that your money is going to a good cause. It's a win-win. This place is much larger than it appears outside. I met some very lovely ladies who were working there. Everything is used and organized very well. Pay attention to their sales! Great deals on lots of fun stuff. I found some great pants and artwork all for less than $10. read more

This is a cozy little thrift store in a currently-construction-filled strip mall that I always forget exists. Although I don't find much for myself here besides children's books, I like to keep it in mind for other things, because I just never know what I'll find. Several long racks of clothing take up most of the room here, and the clothes are somewhat organized by color on their respective racks (men's, women's, and children's) rather than article of clothing (like how other secondhand stores have racks for pants, coats, dresses, skirts, etc.). A meager selection of shoes, books, kitchen appliances, dinnerware, and small miscellaneous items are on shelves against the walls. There aren't any bulky pieces of furniture around; I think the largest things I've seen are a few bicycles. Here's a random note: Beanie Babies are $0.25. I have no clue who still collects these things, but if you want any, there are some here. (That's kind of funny, yet pitiful - we -- I mean, people have spent loads of money on these ten years ago, and now they're being resold for something cheaper than a call from a payphone.) Other than that, I know where to go when I want add to my old Sesame Street library. Or buy a powder blue graduation gown, in case I ever need it. Edit - 11/16/07. They deserve another star! Not only is the staff very sweet, but there is almost NO MUSTY SMELL. Compared to other secondhand stores, it's a breath of fresh air. And my latest treasure? A FOAM FINGER. Now I can go places and wave that obnoxious thing around, babbling about who's #1. read more

Great low prices, hidden treasures, and name brand clothing. I purchased a gorgeous silver-plated dish for $1, a great wrap dress for $4, and another party dress for $5. They also had silk scarves for $1 and leather belts for $1, without any special sale. The ladies at the shop were so sweet and there is plenty of parking. read more

I need to give a mixed review for this store. Normally I stop in a browse the selection and have a friendly chat with the other customers and employees. Sometimes I will an item will catch my eye and it is no problem to spend a few dollars. However, for the first time I bought an item which cost a little more as a Christmas present. The cashier was kind enough to let me split the payment over two weeks. We wrote it down and I eagerly awaited the final payment so I could pick up my used but in good condition treasure. The day arrived. I looked at the selection of Christmas wrappings and picked some up as well to save money later. At the counter I was meet by two people I don't normally interact with here. The lady started ringing up my purchases and the gentleman came over to tell me I needed to pay more for the bigger purchase item I had on hold. He said I needed to pay tax. I said I was given the total price and I already paid half. He said I was incorrect. I said it isn't right to decide later to add more to the price when I was already given the total cost and it was in writing. He was not very nice about it either. Like I was trying to get away with something. It is only a few dollars but the whole situation went from a happy experience to an ordeal. I pulled out my copy of the receipt and showed him the numbers. He finally agreed that I didn't have to pay extra. This should have been the end of it but there's more. The lady was told I had already paid X dollars for the hold item. She then added up the gift wrap items. The grand total was more than double of what it s should be. She seemed upset when I pointed it out and gave me an attitude. The gentleman said to subtract what I paid. He took over. Did the math. And then tried to overcharge me. I took a pen and wrote out the math correctly. It was less than what her tried to charge me. He looked it over and said he made a mistake and my math was right. I paid. I left. The man who gave me a hard time over a few dollars is the manager. His name is Dick. I'm sure there are many people who think he is friendly. I do not. This store is nice but the selection is fairly small. I used to really like stopping by once in a while. But not if it means dealing with Dick. I really do not like that guy. read more

I was here recently with my girl for the very first time and we were just delighted to find another thrift store, but to found out it's not just another thrift store! First of all it's cleanliness and much friendliness atmosphere is truly a breath of fresh air!! I found a neat old school vintage GE radio, and other knick knacks, plus my girl found some clothes for cheap for herself! Anyway, it was our first time there, but for sure won't be our last and the best thing is the proceeds go to the kids camp at their church!!
