For Dr. McNeil to laugh at me when I said don't you ever talk to me the way that you have been and he replied with "so you're sticking up for yourself" and I told him I will always stick up for myself. He is a disgrace to this psychiatric board whom I am reporting him to because I shouldn't have to get off the phone while having him on speaker so that my father and my ex fiancé could hear the way that he talks to me like a piece of shit. And they got their load of information by me talking to him on my last call with him. He said he is retiring at the end of the year well I think he needs to retire now if he called my family physician twice and didn't even know that he did in for his office staff to call me a liar and that "he would have it in his notes" my own family physician pulled up on the computer to show me when I saw him last week for a blood panel and he showed me the incoming calls in the outgoing calls and they all happened in one week yet Dr McNeil can't remember he talk to my physician in the same freaking week?!!! And because he screwed up his own appointments and called me 15 minutes later than my scheduled appointment with him and then kept yelling at me that he had another patient waiting well let then wait since I guess I'm a nobody to him that it's ok to screw up my appointment. He is the biggest hypocrite on the planet. We went over my medication and he still screwed it up! So I called my regular doctor up and he is prescribing me the medication that I need because Dr McNeil should have retired years ago if he can't remember talking to my family physician not once but twice. My family Physician will be calling my prescriptions in that he still managed to screw up. What psychiatrist is going to chuckle over the phone when I said I'm standing up for myself and his response was "oh you are fi ally sticking up for yourself... that's what you call an asshole and my dad had to bring me into the ER after having a severe panic attack from this stupid fuck of a psychiatrist don't you ever yell at me again you asshole and if you want to my father will call you up and tell you everything that he heard you yelling at me on the fucking phone. I take non of my swearing back cuz someone had to do it. I told my parents that when they get your next bill in the mail do not pay for it because all you did was make me cry and you don't deserve to screw up my medicines and have me deal with the pharmaceutical stuff on my own.

All of this profoundly affected my quality of life on a daily basis. I was hospitalized during this time because of diverticulitis (which was caused by the constipation). During my FOUR day hospital stay, 2 different surgeons came in to tell me that they would need to remove parts of my colon if the infection didn't respond to the IV antibiotics. During this stay, my prominent and well respected GI Doctor, also came to check on me. In talking, she mentioned that she sees a large number of postmenopausal woman, in her practice that are suffering from the same symptoms and chronic constipation. When I asked her what she thought the connection was between the hormonal changes and GI issues? She simply stated that she "does not know" and did not offer any other solutions besides to increase my Fiber and water intake, which I was already doing. This was a turning point for me in realizing that the Traditional medical system is far more comfortable talking about doing something that is as drastic as surgery, rather than understand and treat the underlying cause of symptoms. It was not until I discovered Dr. Laurie Goldman that I learned there IS a way to understand and treat the underlying cause. She immediately relieved me of the chronic constipation and began attacking the underlying issues, which improved my daily life significantly. Through her expertise, supplements and working with her team I am discovering a new way of managing my health. I feel empowered going forward that my health is in my hands and not being dictated to me. The things that I have learned during her program have opened my eyes to a new way of life, new respect for my body, and I am never going back! She is extremely intelligent, thorough and easy to work with. I saw some of the negative reviews on here and I can't understand how they had such a different experience than I have had, along with many others that have been helped by her. She doesn't take most insurances because frankly, the contract rates suck. I mean, have you ever tried to find a psychologist or psychiatrist that takes insurance? I think the only thing she takes is Blue Cross Blue Shield. She can be difficult to get ahold of, even if you call her cell, but it's a minor inconvenience. We think she's great.

This place didn't feel like a lighthouse. Matters got worse when I was asking for a note, or signing papers for work. The attitude towards me became cold. If it was out of their capabilities, I wish they tried referring me to a different location, helping me reach out to the actual help I needed. I felt so lost and stressed especially in the state I was in already. I felt threatened to have a session or not. Please, take the time to listen, be patient, understanding, responsive, and act with care as all these patients are going through tough times. Edit* After writing this review, I experienced an unsavory set of actions in order for me to take down this review, thus slowing my healing process. I have no doubt they have helped individuals before, but the unsavory actions indicate large red flags for this business. I advise caution. After every session, Katarina would just walk away like time was up that's it. I just felt like a stranger that she had to talk to for one hour and then that's it. Being a social worker, I felt it lacked the empathy and warmth. I've never felt as if she tried to understand me. I switched to my old psychologist and after just one session with him I felt hopeful. I was advised to take action that is opposite of that for dealing with someone with the issues presented and would've further antagonized an already dangerous situation. Dr. Crane never gave me instructions on what I needed to do. He never even had advice on what was the right way the think or the right way to act. He asked me questions about my life, and he questioned me about the way that I thought and processed those experiences. Through these conversations, we navigated the intricacies of my vulnerabilities, pain, and desires. I came in as a skeptic after a psychiatrist that offered ever increasing doses of medication and a psychologist that concluded that "eating too much candy" was the root cause of my depression. Dr. Crane completely changed my perspective on what a psychologist can do. I left school 4 years ago, part of it that I wasn't willing to admit, was that I no longer loved what I wanted to do (biology research). I haven't spoken with Dr. Crane in over 3 years since I moved to San Diego. However, I can say that he played a pivotal role to finding myself. I can say with conviction that he is the best there is. PS. I just got employed as an elementary school teacher in San Diego!
