This review is for the dog park: Since we got our American bully we been there at least 4 times a week since we live near by. We take our dog here so he can socialize with other dogs play and run around. Other dogs there are friendly never once we have to experience any aggressive dog here. Everyone here is a regular. Place is well kept and clean. Place is fully fenced and it separated small dog and large dog. There are benches and table to sit and relax. Doggie bags are available and of course dog water fountain. Didn't give it a 5 star because unlike other dog park I wish they could have doggie play equipment read more

This dog park is really great (mostly the large dog park). Even though I have 2 small dogs, I usually take them to the large dog park if no one's because that space is just so much bigger. It's really long and there's so much room for dogs to run around. It's pretty well kept too considering it doesn't stink and I don't ever see poo that's left behind. Both parks are always stocked with doggie bags and trash cans all around. I don't love the smaller pooch park because it's smaller (obviously) and there really isn't much for dogs to do; it's just a grass lawn. But still it's a decent space. The park is a little hard to find at first - it's in the corner by the tennis courts. There also aren't a whole lot of dogs whenever I come compared to other ones I've been to. Still, it's a clean place to bring your pup. read more

For the second time in a year I've had a idiot threaten me with violence over the behavior of my little 12 pound dog (who likes to try and mount larger dogs). This time the idiot said, "I don't want my Bruce (a 20 pound shepherd mix) to turn gay because of your dog". And, "I don't want any of your dogs juices to get on my dog". He said some rather nasty things about me and then made a move toward my dog, this quickly escalated to a face-to-face confrontation where I was told that if there were no witnesses, he would "take care of me", which he emphasized by pointing with his imaginary gun. I took my mutt and headed home. I'm not going back either. This is just stupid. I'll load a photo of the guy for your reference. read more

The dog park is well maintained. Unfortunately, my dog (Rhodesian Ridgeback-Boxer mix) is not very socialized. He can look pretty intimidating because of his size. I was glad that the other people with their dogs did not hold it against him. We all gave each other a wide enough space for our dogs to enjoy some off leash time without getting into any fights. Sometimes there are dog-poopy bags supplied and other times, not. It's probably best to just bring some with you. There are two dog areas - one for smaller dogs too, which i think is quite thoughtful. read more

The dog park has two areas, one for large dogs and one for small dogs. The large area has a few benches but the area for small dogs only has one bench. They have a water fountain for the dogs. However, I was there at 3:00 pm on a Thursday and both areas were empty. Lonely dog park. My english bulldog didn't have any dogs to play with. read more

So... now that it get's dark at 5:30 people have started to drop off from the dog park. The problem with GB is that they don't really have lights FOR the dog park. The park happens to get a little bit of illumination due to the tennis courts lights spilling over (since they share a wall in a sense) So come 6pm the dog park is pretty dark now a days. There has also been a bit of a problem with bees in one corner of the park. I believe they closed down the park for this reason, but the problem seems to have come back. Lastly, there has been a good number of patrons who visit this park that don't seem to feel the need to clean up after their dogs. no bueno. read more

Came at 11am on a Thursday and there aren't any dogs for my puppy to play with, but very clean and they have waste bags available. Separate area for small and big dogs. Not super big but enough for a few dogs to play in the small area. There's two tables with benches, some grass, and concrete area as well. read more

As a dog owner, I love that there is a dog park in Buena Park. It's extremely close to my house and many locals can easily come over to this dog park. Having the option is great, however, I find myself driving to Pooch Park in Fullerton way more often. Honestly, I only ever come here when I'm desperate. Sounds horrible, but I'm just not a big fan. It could be because I love Fullerton Pooch Park and hold that as a standard for dog parks. Bellis dog park doesn't really come close to Pooch Park to me. It's just a big long strip of grass basically. There's nothing wrong with it in particular. It's hard to find a lot of dogs there during certain times of the day. I've come on weekdays at around 2-3pm and there was NOBODY. The only time I see it busy is Wednesday nights. Sort of a limited time frame in my opinion. I usually take my dog to Fullerton Pooch Park on Tuesdays and Thursdays around 3pm. Always a couple of dogs there, and the same friendly people. But I never have the same luck at Bellis. If you haven't been to Fullerton Pooch Park, try it. It's nice to have both options, but I personally would rather make the extra 10-15 minute drive there than the 2 minute drive here. This is a nice place to bring your dog but I feel like I've only been able to come Wednesday nights in order to find a lot of dogs for my dog to interact with. read more

Scenario: Wednesday, New Year's Day, 10 am Pros: - Spacious - Plenty of grass - Open everyday Cons: - No poop bags in the dispensers (I bring my own, but some people do not) - Not enough trash cans - Potential go-to place for irresponsible owners/aggressive dogs - Litter - Flanks the back of a set of tennis courts - Pens not separated for small and large dogs - Craptastic dog water fountain In a nutshell: I normally take my pup to the Fullerton Pooch Park but they are closed on Wednesdays so I decided to try out this park. I didn't know if they would be open today since it's New Year's Day but they were...bazinga! At first glance the park is nice. Good amount of grass and very spacious for the dogs.... ....aaaaaaand that's about all the good there is to say about this place. Once inside you'll notice that there is tons of litter on the ground. Napkins, candy wrappers, bottle caps, etc. Why? There's only 1 trash can! What will happen to the poop bags when it fills up?? Oh the humanity. The dog park also shares the same fence with a set of tennis courts. What's concerning is that there's a gap at the bottom of the fence so crap from inside the courts can slip into the dog park. My pup found a half empty bottle of Windex under the fence. Don't even ask why there's Windex at a tennis court. Perhaps people like shiny tennis balls? Beware...this place seems to be a hangout for irresponsible owners and potentially aggressive dogs. 3 men brought their dog in and it was clear that the pup had aggression issues. I kept my dog away but at one point he walked too close and their dog lunged and bit mine. I literally had to kick their dog in order to get him to unlatch his jaws. What pisses me off is that those men did nothing to stop their dog. They just sat there and acted like it was a normal occurrence. One of them even said "Happy New Year" to me as I walked away...I said something back but I can't repeat it here. It's quite unlady-like. To top it all off, there are poop bag dispensers but no bags. The dog water fountain is filthy and the water flow is slow. Good luck trying to fill the ONE bucket with fresh water. Lastly, if you have big dogs that don't play well with small dogs, then enter at your own risk...all dogs go into the same pen. Overall this is far from being a "good" park, but it does the job if you need your dog to get a good romp in. You'll just have to be extra diligent in keeping your dog safe. read more

I love this dog park cause it's quiet and most of the time people are nice. The park it self is a long strip basically good for your runner dogs and it's always clean so that's a plus. The fountain area is also clean and nice to have for our babies! Here's some tips for some people thou...1) if an another dog plays with your dog, don't automatically think it's attacking it, dogs play rough and obviously there's a limit. I haven't been through this personally but I've seen it :-/ 2) just because a dog looks scary doesn't mean they are. Don't give a dog dirty looks because you think they're scary. We've been through this for years and can't tell you how many dirty looks our dog gets just for being playful. This review is strictly only regarding the dog park behind the tennis courts. Both times I went this weekend around 11am, there were zero to one dog inside the park. Maybe it was because 11am is early for dog owners, but I think it is a reasonable hour to take your dog out. That is one reason I am giving it 3 stars instead of 4. The other reason is because it is the closest gated dog park to where I live, so I would still come back solely because I live in an apartment and it's the closest safe area for my dog to run freely and discharge her energy. Also, there were poop bag stations, but no poop bags in any of them. Both times I went there were feces on the ground that owners didn't bother to pick up, had to be careful where you were stepping. The dog fountain was backed up with a pool of dirty water. The overall dog park was small and disappointing. ********** Update: I went again on a weekday around 6pm and there were a handful of dogs, maybe close to 10. My dog had a great time this time because there were actually dogs to play with. Still no poop bags, and there was still poop left on the ground. read more

This dog park is the nearest one to my house and is unfortunately in the "ghetto" park of BP.. Which is fine. I used to be here several times a week about 4 years ago, there were always a ton of dogs, and I only had one bad experience. My 7 year old Rhodesian ridgeback and I had just walked in, and within 10 seconds an older pit bull had her by the nape of her neck. I got her off, and the owner said she had recently rescued the pit from LA. Seriously? I can't believe how stupid people are. I went back last week, the dog park is empty for the full hour I'm there playing fetch with my dog. Fast forward to tonight. My 4 month old Rhodesian ridgeback. There is only one dog in the park (a pit mix) and she attacks my dog as soon as they touch noses. The owner said her dog is snotty towards other dogs. (Why would you bring your dog to a dog park?) she leaves 15 minutes later (took her time yapping while trying to keep her dog away from my puppy). I am about to leave since my dog might as well just run around my own backyard since there's no other dogs here. Then 2 kids walk in with a chihuahua. I'm thinking, perfect, she has someone to play with. The kids keep their tiny dog on a leash and walk the perimeter. I ask if their dog is nice, and she said "oh no, he hates other dogs, that's why we are keeping him away from your dog." (AGAIN, WHY BRING YOUR DOG WHO HATES OTHER DOGS TO A DOG PARK...?!?). I'm done with this dog park. It's either empty or has one or two dogs that aren't friendly with other dogs, with idiot owners who bring them to a dog park. Waste of time and dangerous for your pet. read more

I love this park for my dogs! Well it's the only dog park we've been to but we love it. They don't have them separated - small and large...it's all one big park and I like that because my little dog thinks she's a big dog and likes playing with them. Every time we've been here, people are always so nice. Every once in a while you'll get a bully dog but never to the point where a fight breaks out. They just like to bark and bark at the other dogs. All the dogs that I've seen are all so friendly. Although the bag holder is convenient to have, it's almost always empty. But seriously, if you're a dog owner, you should have a roll of baggies everywhere you go and shouldn't depend on someone else to provide them for you. And you should ALWAYS pick up after your dog!! We're constantly watching our dogs - not because we don't trust them but because we want to make sure we pick up after them. Overall love this park! Just watch where you step ;) Oh and the best time to go that I've noticed is after 6p even on the week days. read more

People need to keep an eye on their dog. I came here to let Haley out for a bit, since I have been in the area a lot recently for meetings and stuff. I walk in with her, and within seconds, this big aggressive dog is going crazy. The owner was just off to the side chatting away, not paying any attention. The park itself is small compared to other dog parks in OC. Its basically the city blocking off the track of grass behind the tennis courts. There are a few benches, and a table, there are several water bowls by the fountain, and plenty of poop bag stations. We had to leave right away because of the aggressive dog, who would not leave Haley alone. This would never happen at Costa Mesa or Irvine. read more

More like a large dog run than a dog park. Its basically a gated grass area behind some tennis courts. There's no separate areas for large and small dogs. Its fairly small but at least you can let you dog run off the leash and wear himself out. read more

If you want to be alone with you dog it would be the perfect park but I have a puppy with lots of energy and need her to play with other dogs to release that energy. Had to drive to another dog park, wasted my time coming here. Also this park is not in a great area, only been here once but didn't feel that safe. read more

Gee golly! This dog park is super hidden. It's behind the tennis courts and they have a dog park banner but that's hidden too. I felt like I was going on scavenger hunt with my dogs. It's a pretty large dog park but there's only one, unlike the other dog parks I've been to. The one in Pasadena has one for small breeds and another for larger breeds. This park does provide you with poopy bags but it didn't look like they were being used. I saw poop everywhere. They need to create more shade for people and perhaps more benches and tables. I'll go back to play tennis and leave my dogs there while I play so I can keep an eye on them. That's what the third star is for. read more

Clean place. Lots of events happening and food was served from multiple stands which is awesome. Lots of kids activities games and such. I just came to walk my dog. I would come back. Parking is a bit tough tho especially when you have events going on. read more

Wish I could give this dog park more than 2 stars. I feel generous giving it 2 as I live 1.2 miles away so it's convenient to come here. The many times I've come here with my large dog it's been during the day which so-so. Not many dogs to play with. Park has tons of holes from dogs digging. The times I did come here during "prime" time I always seemed to run into people bringing their small dogs in the large section and getting mad when my large dogs tries to play and the little ones get aggressive. Seen many people bring their un-neutered dogs in here and they run around trying to hump and dominate every dog in sight and act aggressive as well. The owners don't say a word. I have also witnessed dog owners watching their dogs poop and them refusing to pick it up. I've had to personally hand a dog owner a bag so he could pick up after their pet. The rules specially say NO PRONG COLLARS for obvious reasons. I walk my dog on a prong collar all the time but when he's in the dog park it comes off. I don't want my dog playing with another dog and having their teeth get stuck in my dogs prong collar. I feel this park could greatly improve with some more rule enforcing and more responsible owners, but until then I'll be going to Fullerton or Lakewood. No more BP for me. read more

I don't mind there not being seperate areas since if your dog's friendly, who cares? If your dog has a social problem though, you really should get it checked than relying on a gate. O.o Anyway, this place is awesome! It has lovely grass (or used to, LOL)and is great for a game of fetch. There aren't too many people since it's "hidden" behind the tennis courts, but it should be easy to find. The people are a bit annoying, always on their phone and not taking care of their dog, but I don't always find that to be the case. Many are polite and make sure their dogs aren't annoying. Though, please don't let your dog come to my dog's water bowl and shove her outm f the way! LOOK AT YOUR DOG INSTEAD OF CALLING SOMEONE FACING THE WALL! I've had to ask people to take care of the dogs with an annoyed expression. Take care of your nad day on your own please. read more

4 stars only cuz I come from bell, ca. But I LOOOVED THIS PARK. Long and grassy. When I went which was dec 31 2013 they had poopy bags. The other dog owners were very friendly and very responsible, and very honest about their dogs personality. ( one lady was telling us that her dog is very friendly just territorial of her owner, so she kept throwing the ball away from her, and she gave us great advice about a recommended petco trainer, and other doggy training tips) they say that in the summer they turn on the lights of the tennis courts and people stay till like 10pm. Our dog and us loved it. Btw the dog park is way in the back behind the tennis courts. read more

We visited this park for a Little All-Star game. It is a mess. The ball fields look like they belong in Afghanistan (weeds, potholes, desert dry). PA system in the press box doesn't work. The bathrooms are disgustingly dirty and a health hazard. The City of Buena Park certainly brings in enough tourist dollars to maintain their parks--but must be mismanaged. I would be embarrassed if this park were in my city. read more

I brought my dog here a couple times and i must say it's pretty nice for a neighborhood dog park. The area isn't too small and it's gated so the dogs are able to play freely safety. The people who come here are also very amiable and respectful. Although I do think someone should maintain the park a little better. the last couple times i went there i saw dog poop lying around and a hole in the corner of the park where a dog could easily escape. read more

I didn't know there is a dog park here and I used to live close to this area! It is a nice park, a lot of room for dogs to run around. When I was here, there wasn't that many people or dogs. It is right behind the tennis courts, so it is a bit hidden. The park is very clean with a lot of grassy area. Another good park for the dogs. read more
