I love taking my 2 dogs here! The yard for big dogs is very spacious and has a lot of grass. There are benches for you to sit and a lot of areas for your dogs to pee and sniff. However, if you have a reactive or aggressive dog, please muzzle them or do not bring them here. A couple weeks ago, a larger dog sniffed my dog's butt and then in a blink of an eye, that dog growled, pinned my dog's neck down with his teeth and started biting him until blood came out of his neck wtf. I'm not blaming the park, I am blaming the owner. The owner and her dog immediately left the park. We had to apply wound cream and my dog was really scared. Don't go here. When they say people and their dogs are the worst at dog parks, this is the definition of it. We were visiting from out of town, and checked out the bigger dog side. These white big dog and boxer types started following our small dog and wouldn't leave our dog alone. All the owners were sitting and did nothing to control them. One owner just said "enter at your own risk", like duh we know. We left immediately. One guy also told us to leave bc some dogs have a prey drive. But this is not how our dog parks at home are, where all dogs are welcome on both sides because the owners are attentive and able to control their dogs. We were just showing our dog both sides. But this showed us why your dogs are shitty cuz your shitty people. Why own dogs when you can't even control your own dog. DONT OWN A DOG, ASSHOLE. read more

Hidden in the far end near the train tracks is this place. There's a huge area for larger dogs and pretty OK square sized spot for the little babies. Now, everything was great the other dog owners were pleasant and sweet and all dogs were behaved. Towards the end I've noticed my babies bottom skirt (schnauzer skirt cut) had these tiny weeds stuck on him. I tried to pull it off but oh man I mean they were all over his bottom area. IF YOUR BABY HAS LONG FUR STAY AWAY. Also, todays Thursday and went around 10:30am but didn't look clean (thought Wednesday's were clean up day). It also had old toys that had cotton stuffing coming out all over the place. I've been brushing and brushing him to get rid of this but even after a bath and drying him it's still on him :/ It's unfortunate... This is a nice small dog park for your furry freind. It's right beside the Hunt Library. But we didn't go here we had a meeting the Hunt Library Lawn for Seniors Fight Back hosted by the Seniors Fight Back organization headed by President of the Organization Hong Lee and sponsored by the Fullerton Police Department, AAA and Hyundai. It's about senior awareness on how to deter an attacker while walking, shopping or sitting in the park. The instructor was a wonderful giving out techniques on attacker deterrent. His name was Ron Scolesdan. Can't wait to attend to more functions such as these as it is very informative. read more

Every time I bring my dog here he leaves covered in mud. The people who come here all know each other so it's like a weird awkward click of old white peole who don't have anything to do with their lives. Bunch of grumpy old people that think this is a " members only social hour " they bring their chairs from home set up shop and don't watch the dogs whatsoever. Multiple occasions I've seen their dogs attack people act terrible and instead of removing them from the park because they're probably burnt out from being there for over 3+ hours they will gang up on you and convince you you and your animal are the problem and need to leave it's ridiculous I was told I can't come to the park because my dog is not neutered and that a un neutered dog make other peoples dogs upset--- what a bunch of BS if your dog can't get along with all kinds of dogs it should not be at the park ! It is not part of the rules that your dog needs to be neutered either for health reasons my six month old dog is not neutered when he's cleared by his vet to get neutered that's when it will happen I don't need anybody else telling me what I should and shouldn't do with my animals especially if they are well behaved and good tempered! read more

I have been coming here to thus dog park ever since living in Orange County. Now that I'm apart of another county I still swing by and give my pet his time in the city he grew up in. There are 3 areas for your dogs one is the small dog park where my furball goes to. They have a large dog Area , lastly there is another big area where I feel more family gathers there from what I see. If I'm wrong I'm sorry. I've been to this dog park several times for convenience, and I can only speak to the big dog portion. Typically, most individuals keep to themselves, and depending on the date/time, you will get a variety of crowds here. Sometimes, you'll get older individuals with their calmer dogs and other times you'll have families bring their dogs and do not pay attention to what their dogs do (which can be said for most dog parks). The park seems to need a little TLC; it is mostly dirt. The water is not great so some people actually bring the huge jugs of water for the dogs. read more

The bigger one attacked my dog, and tore her eye. I've been looking for her since. We had to pay a lot in vet bills. For the smaller dog side: This park serves its purpose but it honestly seems unkept. It's more dirt than grass which is expected but I've also been to dog parks where it's at least cleaned up a bit. There was also some type of grass that got stuck in the longer pups coats. I've brushed my dog for an hour and there's still some left. read more

I AM SO OVER THIS DOG PARK!!! I used to LOVE this dog park but in the last few years the quality went down. I don't want to sound rude, but has anyone noticed the number of homeless people that are sleeping right outside the dog park (near the small dog park)? I noticed that many of them have dogs and I have seen in multiple occasions these people coming in and dropping off their dogs and leaving! That makes me so upset because I don't know if these dogs are up to date on their shots and I do not want to risk my dogs getting sick because of them. Soo I have always heard about this Fullerton Dog park and I really wanted to try it out! :) It was such a totally different experience and a must if you own doggies. Ok so the break down of this cute park is it has two sections. One is for small doggies which my ones are and the other is for bigger doggies. The large doggies get of course a larger area to play and run in with other dogs. No one is on a leash. The other small dogs get this area where people can sit on benches and they can roam freely. You must still bring a leash because while walking your puppy to the dog park , it has a parking lot. You don't want your doggies to be running around all crazy when people are driving. I've only been here on the weekends just because I'm way too busy on the weekdays. Some weeks a lot of dogs are here but other times not as much. So it is quite random but most dogs are friendly. I've seen ones that have been mean but the owners stop it instantly! So don't worry, and the first times can always make the new dog kind of not interactive. But after doing it some more, they will feel like themselves. Really really recommend going and checking this place out! read more

I love coming here with my dog. It's a large park for both large dogs and small dogs, with separate areas depending on size and comfort of your dog. There are sitting areas for pet owners and plenty of trees for shade. Not much grass but plenty of dirt, concrete and mulched areas. The park is near by train tracks so it can be a bit noisy, the dogs don't even mind it. It's a very popular park and usually a lot of dogs during the weekend. I went with my pup last week on Monday around 7pm and it was scary looking dog park. I mean it is a nice quiet hidden park but when it gets dark and you got the train tracks on one side and an abandoned library in the back it looks sketchy at night. I would suggest maybe putting in some more lighting. Especially by the little dog area, feel like it needs more of a welcoming touch. Also a few more structured toys in all the areas can help some of the dogs let out some steam. I would take my pup there but just before the sun sets. read more

Hidden gem located behind Hunt Library. Its not a big Dog Park like, say, Costa Mesa's by the OC Fairground, nor as dangerous as Laguna's. This little dog park has 3 main areas: 1 for the big dogs, 1 for the smaller dogs, and a 3rd area for the dogs who can't play well with the other kids, perhaps? The parking area holds about 50 vehicles, but there's also parking in the opposite side of the library. Closed on Wednesdays, and they gladly accept donations. read more

This park has a nice space but it doesn't seem like anyone is managing it and keeping it nice. The grass is overgrown, the water fountain are shut off. I always take a water bottle with me for my dog so thankfully I didn't need it but other dogs were coming to me once they saw I had water with me. The plastic pool chairs were filthy and there were land mines (dog poops) from people not picking up after their dog. read more

I have a golden and she's scared of most dogs here. The owners aren't tracking their dogs activities and there are poop everywhere. The owners let their dogs get aggressive and/or is too distracted or thinks it's funny. I've given it a fair chance but it seems like that's just how it is. Updated review: Now that I've not only made great friends in this park, but I've also learned that it's volunteer-run so the city doesn't actually maintain it at all, I have a newfound appreciation for our local doggo park. We come here twice daily, and my dog loves seeing the regulars around each morning and evening. People are very friendly, especially the human/dog group we have here (we love Gigi and the Star Wars crew!). It's a great lil community. Furthermore, I thought this park was run by the city so I mistakenly criticized the folks in charge for not patching up the holes and whatnot every Wednesday when the park is closed for cleaning purposes. After having learned that the park is kept up by a small board of volunteers, all I have to say is THANK YOU! We love the Fullerton Pooch Park and all the time we've spent here in 2020. It's truly been a reprieve that I look forward to each day almost as much as my dog does! read more

I've been coming here for almost 3 months now pretty regularly usually in the afternoon around 3-6ish. I adopted a 2 year old pit bull in April 2019, and she thrives here. She is loved by all and loves getting play time in with her pit buddies. Im so grateful that she can play there with other pitties, get pet by other kind dog owners, and not get looks of terror or disgust. For the large dog side, the area is large with many areas for seating. It has a mix of concrete, dirt, grass, and mulch. There are a lot of shaded areas, too, which is really nice. There's also an adjacent fenced area for dogs who are still training or who may not be ready to play with all the other dogs. There is plenty of parking. Of all the times I've been there, I have only witnessed one day when dog owners let their dog get into it with other dogs and some guy was pissed off and was cussing and yelling. I haven't seen those owners since that day. 99% of the owners I see there will remove their dog immediately if their dog is having a bad day. The fact of the matter is that any given day, no matter what park you go to, you may encounter one an inconsiderate dog owner. I've researched a bunch of dog parks as I was hesitant to bring my rescued pit bull anywhere that she could not be safe. All dog parks have at least one sh*tty review by an angry or offended person. I took a chance on this place based on a referral from a dog trainer, and I am so glad I took her here. I will be coming here forever except on Wednesday's when they're closed. read more

This place was awful. Zero grass (I get it, there's a drought), people brought plastic chairs that lined the outer rim, dog hair everywhere and there is a concrete path where the dirt has given way underneath causing a dangerous and ugly crevice underneath. We threw a ball and our dog couldn't get it out and I was afraid she would cut her paws on it. There's also ripped tennis balls everywhere and hardly any benches (you could use the old dirty plastic chairs people have "donated" to this dog park. No matter when I go to this dog park, there are always dogs there and I like that. The park is maintained by volunteers and they do a great job but this dog park is not as nice as other dog parks. And a lot of people don't pick up after their dogs so there is a lot of poop laying around. read more

7/20/19 This star is for the experience of having to deal with the most obnoxious dog owners that comes to this park. I came here for a French Bulldog meet up to take my 9 month old. I been to this location many times before and I have never had any problems with my puppy and today we've encountered one cruel lady. First of, I and many other dogs and dog owners where here already, all our dogs were already playing and socializing with other dogs- no problem. Then finally this Boston terrier and it's lady owner came. The Boston terrier is about double the size of my dog. All the dogs were sniffing each other out, playing and chasing each other. The Boston terrier got up on the mix and started growling at the other dogs, including my dog. Then all of a sudden I hear this crazy lady yelling at my dog to get off her dog, when it was her dog that was growling at the other small dogs. She had one of those ball sticks in hand and started whipping my 9 month old dog, when my dog wasn't even on her dog. They where all chasing each other. I got so mad and yelled the lady for hitting my dog, she had no right, the dogs where obviously playing and her dog was the one that growled at all the other dogs. She then said she goes to this park all the time, so what- that don't give her the right to hit a puppy. If your dog is anti social, they got no business in a public dog park. Period! They obviously don't want to be playful or around other dogs. She then did later apologized to me, she said she was just trying to protect her dog, she swear my puppy was gonna kill hers, the nerve of this lady. She needs to bring her dog to the other side and play with the much bigger dogs... She should be ashamed of herself, to act out stupidly in front of a dog meet up group, with a bunch of other French bulldog owners, hitting a puppy with a stick while children are watching. Shame!!!! Beware of this lady!she should be reported for animal cruelty! read more

I think I like this dog park more than some others, mainly because it isn't all loaded down with wood chips, it's more like a park or a backyard. It's nice and big and there are a lot of seemingly regulars here. The area surrounding the park can be a bit iffy, but the park itself appears to be well liked and kept up (as well as you can keep up a dog park). I never have felt unsafe at all. Most of the people I've come across have been friendly and decent too. I like that there are 3 separate places; general population, small dog and also a "3rd area" (the woodchip part) that is less crowded if you need that. I've never seen any icky water or crazy random poop spots, always been pleased with the people and upkeep. On a side note for this or any other dog park: It's a dog park, people. Dogs will be dogs. I don't care how nice Cupcake is, or how well-behaved Brutus is. They are animals and not everyone trains their dogs the same nor do dogs have the same temperament or play manners. They are animals and although I love LOVE LOVE love my dog and all dogs with an unbelievable passion... you cannot blame others if their dog is annoying or doesn't get along with your dog. True, there are a-hole owners and people who don't watch their dogs.... but it isn't the dog park's fault. Be mindful of your own dog and conscious of the actions of the furry ones around it. I enjoyed my times at the Pooch Park and am happy that it is there for all of us to enjoy. Pick up your poo, treat others with respect and most of all HAVE FUN!!! read more

The pups, my boyfriend, and I went on an adventure this past Saturday to the Fullerton Pooch Park. We ran and played for hours with tons of puppies and even managed to swim in giant puddles of mud. Thats right, mud. Luckily the mud was the only downfall to this excursion. The Fullerton Pooch Park is located in a secluded area between several apartment structures, a railroad track, and away from any busy streets. It's split into three large gated areas: one for small dogs (under 25 lbs), big dogs, and a secluded "One at a time" area for dogs who either like their space or are training. I absolutely loved this setup, and felt that the secluded area would be perfect for dogs that are in the beginning stages of socialization. Within the 3 hour period we didn't witness a single dog fight, and even had some great conversations with a few of their humans. P.S. The park is well supplied with tons of water, poopy bags, and sitting area. Props to Fullerton to having such a great place for the pups! We loved the experience and will be back soon - possibly even this weekend! read more

Came here after my doggie's grooming ... thought she deserved some fun play time with some other dogs. So off to Fullerton Pooch Park. It's in back of the local library, there is parking in the back. Highlights: - separation of small and large dogs - water bowls are plenty here - a few trees for some shade with some benches to sit around - friendly doggies - walking path, grass and some woodchips Nani enjoyed herself and got to play with some cool dogs. I got to sit down and enjoy the sun and watch doggie behavior which cracks me up sometimes! I will definitely be back here if I'm in the area. read more

Overall, Fullerton as a whole is a great city and I think that it is great that the Hunt Library supports and maintains Fullerton Pooch Park. I don't personally have a puppy however I like to go here with my friend Matty B.and his Oliver (Pit Bull Mix) or his sister Nicky B. and her Norah (Pit Bull Mix) and recent addition to the gang fellow yelper Jeff V. and his Roxanne (English Bull Dog) I will tell you it is a great time and Matt (prince of Fullerton) always runs into people he knows. Fullerton does have a tight knit community and I really do miss living there. So over all pooch park, always clean, 3 sections (training, small pups and med to large doggies) Oliver seemed to really enjoy it and make friends. Rox was very timid and wanted to just hang out with the gang. Just an FYI, the location is a lil hard to find as it is tucked away and they are closed on wednesdays. read more

I've been going to this park a lot. I use the big dog section for my dog. For years the City of Fullerton has been trying to close this park down to the dismay of dog owners. Owners have gone to the city, but it all falls on deaf ears. The city is not interested in keeping it clean, repaired or doing just general maintenance. Most of the maintenance is done by volunteers who have been coming here for years. THEY even mow the grass, not the city. The regulars try to keep the place clean, but there are those who come and don't pick up after their pets. The city won't admit it, but they ARE closing the park after the library building is finished with their renovations. Last week the knob on one of the water faucets broke. As usual, when the park is closed on Wednesdays, the city does nothing about repairs or maintenance. I think it's a shame the city doesn't give a rats about what the residents want. The city complains they don't have the money. It doesn't take a lot to keep it operating. They have let the grass die, don't mow or edge the areas around the concrete either. People have brought plastic chairs to sit on because there are not enough benches. The chairs are left to the elements and have become run down. I just feel I'm going to get dirty playing with my dog and others, so the chairs don't bother me. I carry a rag with me when I go there to clean the dirt off from my dog anyway. I have run into people who bring their pets to play ball, then they get upset when other dogs join in. There seems to be a regular click who hangs out there. Most are friendly, but they are not over welcoming. It doesn't matter, there are a lot of other people who come and go. Most will talk to you if you just say hello. Be aware. There are no facilities in the dog park. There are some on the other side of the park area that's a good walk, but you never know if the city unlocks the doors or not. Again, what a shame. This could be a pride of Fullerton if the city officials cared enough. read more

I frequent this dog park with my boyfriend only because it is the closest to our house. The nice thing about this park is that there are two play areas, one for big dogs (roughly over 25 lbs) and small dogs (under 25 lbs). The separation of the two allows for dogs to play with other dogs around their size. The only bad thing is that we have a small dog and a big dog so we pretty much separate at the gate and our dogs don't get to play with each other. Although the other day I saw someone take their big dog in the small park and no one told her to leave. So of your dog can play nice with the smaller dogs, I think it's okay. Also, most regulars are friendly and in my encounters, if their dogs act out, they're pretty good about addressing them. One thing I really dislike is that there is not very much grass and a lot of dirt. Both of our dogs are white and they get SO dirty every time we go. We need to take them baths as soon as we get home. The dirt just kind if gets every where and it's a little annoying. Other than the lack of grass, it's a nice little park to take your dogs. Happened to be in the area, so took my doggy here. My first impression of this park (on the small dog side) is that it can get rather muddy. Lots of dirt, not much grass, bad combo for my white dog. He's a runner, so he gets a lot of that dirt on himself. I met a few dog owners and they were friendly and watchful of their dogs, so no problems there. There's actually a nice amount of shade around the benches too. Doggy fountains and waste bag dispensers are available, so that's a plus for me. There are also toys for your dog to play with. The only bad things are the grass isn't well kept and has lots of dirt and the area is a bit ghetto I suppose as it's next to the train tracks but it's not overall a bad spot to take your pup. read more
