They damaged door hardware on first visit and did not complete the re-key. I paid them anyway. They a second visit to fix their mistake...which wasn't fixed. Then the trouble, they requested another payment at the end of the second visit!! I paid them the full amount on visit 1 out of good faith that they would be back to fix any issues with their work. So I refused to pay them again-key still didn't turn lock. They filed POLICE REPORT on me after I refused to pay for the second visit. I was not going to pay for someone to mess up my house twice and leave it unfinished. I was plainly charged for the work on the first visit. They recommended replacement of all deadbolts and door hardware in my house since "parts for my locks are out of production." So I got in touch with Baldwin (hardware manufacturer) and all parts are readily available. I was advised to get another locksmith, so I did-and the issue was fixed within half an hour. Wish they would have stood by their work and been honest. Now it's going to get really hairy. read more

STOP LOOKING - YOU'VE FOUND THE REAL EXPERT! We discovered that the thumb latch that operates our front door had become very wobbly. It was an older (expensive) Baldwin doorknob/deadbolt system. I called George and he arrived promptly. Extremely friendly and professional. Took him less than 1 minute to establish the correct diagnosis. I was fearful that it might require a complete hardware replacement and could have easily been misled by an unscrupulous locksmith. Nope! - 5:50am Got home after my run, realized I had locked myself out, started calling several locksmiths - Was quoted bait prices of $15-19/service call fee, but told that unlocking the door would have base costs of $35-60, going up to at least $125 and without any caps - Told them exactly what brand, how many pins, style and type of lock, but they all still refused to give me even an estimate (other than to require my agreement to a virtually blank check) - Finally, found George on Yelp. He gave me a flat, no-frills REASONABLE price + tax (as in didn't charge me an arm and a leg for the service), and said he could be there within half an hour George came over. He fixed. I paid fair price for fair services rendered. Fair recovery for my awkward Friday. Summary: Very happy with his service. Extremely professional, very quick and efficient. There was absolutely no damage to my lock and he gave me his business card should I need future services (I'm keeping this!). He accepted credit card and was in and out in less than 20mins. Would definitely recommend him to a friend. Stick with the guy with the honest, straightforward pricing who knows what he's doing. Tell you it's gonna be 65-95 dollars then when they show up tell you it's 39 dollars for them to come out. Then 50 to unlock the car...meaning there is no circumstance it could ever be 65. Then I called 3 other places to compare prices with the services he was offering to me. I then called him back & asked him to price match with one company that gave me a slightly lower price quote. He checked with his materials & came very close to my price match request and guaranteed to keep under that price including taxes. So I booked him to come on location to my fiancés job site that same afternoon to make 2 keys, one for spare & 1 with lock/unlock mechanism on the key for regular daily use. When talking to my fiancé it turns out he had given us 3 keys which was cool so that I can have one, my fiancé has one & we still have a spare!! That's great!
