About 2 years ago, my primary care doctor left the clinic where I saw him at and I did not want to see another doctor there, so I searched for a new doctor closer to my home. The next doctor I saw turned out to be disappointing, which led me to seek out another doctor in my area. After some research, I finally decided to give Dr. George Lin a try. My initial visit was very encouraging. Dr. Lin was very attentive and actually listened to my concerns. After some discussion, it was apparent that he needed to evaluate my health with a full set of lab work. Luckily, his office was able to do all this in-house, that's quite a convenience. Dr. Lin was very straight forward and informative with me. He indicated that after the lab reports come back in a couple of days, he would meet with me to discuss the results and determine what medication plan I should undertake. I really appreciated Dr. Lin's thoroughness and how he took the time to explain things to me in layman's terms. 2 years later, Dr. Lin is still my primary doctor and I could not be any happier with the medical care/advice he's given me. Also, the staff at this office appears to be quite efficient, as I've always been seen in a timely manner. read more

Listen up Yelpers: As someone in the medical field, the excellent doctors are the ones who listen UNDER the clothes regarding your heart, lungs, abdomen. The reason is because shirts add an extra layer between the stethoscope and your body. It actually takes more time and patience to try to get the stethoscope underneath clothing for a good listen than to just rush through the exam with the patients' clothing on. If you don't believe me, go Google how a clinical exam for the heart and lungs should actually be done. You will not see a stethoscope on top of a shirt. So for those yelpers who have only had doctors listen to their hearts and lungs through their shirts.....those physicians are not examining your body as thoroughly as they could or should!!!!!! I am going to give Dr. George Lin 5 stars for actually taking the time to do a heart/lung exam UNDERNEATH shirts. read more

Dr. Lin is an amazing physician, he is on top of things. When my father had a stroke and didn't have insurance he was able to get CT scan at his cost. Which was a great help and benefit to our family. He is one of those physicians that truly cares for his patients and not his pockets. read more

Dr. Lin's lack of medical attentiveness almost resulted in disastrous long term diabetic consequences for my older family member. he failed to notice she had newly pre diabetic blood levels until she examined her own results and told him. he has failed to give any follow up medication, advice or anything. avoid him at all costs. read more

Dr. Lin at Colima Medical Group has been my primary care doctor for over 17 yrs. He is very caring and understanding. His demeanor is very professional and can be witty as well. Whenever I have an appointment with him it is always on time and not rushed and he listens to my concerns. His staff is very professional and courteous. I will continue to see Dr. Lin for my medical concerns and well check ups. I also like the fact that their pharmacy, Puente Hills Pharmacy, is just downstairs and they are very professional and prompt. Ray and his staff are awesome, as well as Dr. Lin. read more

Dr Lin has been serving my family for 20 years. We all, including my mom and dad, hate him. I would wait 30 minutes to an hour to see him just to have him simply want to have a simple and ineffective solution: really general medicine. He also makes you wait a really long time just to make you have only a 5 minute-long intervention. He really doesn't care and always seems impatient to want to leave to attend his next patient. It's like, if you wanna do your job, at least do it right..... Example: I had a really, really mysterious sickness and I explained to him (for 3 visits) the same thing very thoroughly and passionately as if I really require his utmost attention (he would usually not pay extremely close to detail and would give you this arrogant expression as if he's waiting for you to shut up) and he still provides me a solution that has NO relevance. He almost ALWAYS denies any other medication when you ask if you can try it. This guy should definitely be banned from being a practitioner. He just wants you to come back and have more and more visits. "No, I'm not gonna prescribe it for you. One step at a time" with ONE possible solution. Ridiculous. Also, Dr. Lin, don't act like you're a genius. You're really not. Your attitude really is your biggest weakness. If you hate your job so much and don't like helping people, PLEASE leave the medical industry. I attended USC for engineering and I could say your level of intellect is much more slimmer than mine. No one should EVER be concerned to see a doctor fearing, "will he give me attitude this time? Will he cut me off constantly? Will he actually help?" In conclusion, just go to Wendy Gu. I went to Dr George Lin with my wife last week for the annual check/pregnancy check, and we had very bad experience: After the nurse ran some basic checks, heights, weights and blood pressure, Dr. Lin came in the room and asked us why we were here. We told him we did two pregnancy checks at home and then he refused to do it again for us right away; he said 'i can add pregnancy check on your wife's annual check, but I think i don't need to do it for you again'. And then, he said he want to check my wife health. The horrible thing happened. He put his hand inside of my wife clothes and put the stethoscope on my wife breast directly. My wife and me never seen a doctor or a nurse to do so to check patience breath or heart beating. That is very rude without asking and putting the hand in a woman's cloth. The worst thing is that the Dr Lin saw my wife and me looked at each other with many question marks on faces, but he just simply ignored it and smiled. My wife felt so very uncomfortable after the check, same did I. We have called HMO to change doctor on the next day and HMO rep changed it right away for us and we called the new doctor to confirm and make new appointment. if there is a 'no star' option, i will use it. read more

First time because I didn't read Yelp . 2nd time because I got a urinary infection and I was in need of a doctor but Dr. Ron Gu wasn't there. First time, I went for an yearly blood test. I was needing a blood test only Dr. Lin, not "breast exam". He told me that I should go back for a breast exam!!! Hello!!! I have my ob-gyn for that. And he did put his hand inside of my cloth! Without a nurse present, without asking for my permission, I say this can be a sexual harassment?? (Dr. Ron Gu never do that. He put his stethoscope outside of my clothes) 2nd time, I had no choice because Dr. Ron Gu was not there again and I had to get prescription for my urinary infection. I was prepared and told myself to stop him before he can put his hand inside of my clothes....guess what!!!???? He walked to my back first, listening from stethoscope of my back, then all of sudden, his hand reached over my shoulder and reached inside of my clothes from behind!! Can you imagine that picture? I was shocked. But because he was reaching over from behind, he wasn't able to reach deeper before I would jerk up and slap him on the face. Then of course that usual sick smile that he had and started telling me blah blah blah. I told him that I was holding myself too long because of work and if cranberry juice can prevent it from happening again. He reached over, got very close to my face, and said, "you know there is another way of getting it?" I said, "how?" He replied, "SEX!" HUH!!?? Well, thank you for your advice as I rush out. I have played volleyball all my life, since I was in grade school. Granted, I'm not an expert...at almost 40 yrs old, you'd think my body was used to the sport. I sprained my calf at one of the plays a month ago...at first, the pain went away, but it kept coming back week in and week out, until after one of the games, I could not walk. I saw Dr. Lin, because my regular doctor, Dr. Ron Gu (whom I love) was not available. I wanted to see someone right away to see what steps I could take to make my calf heal properly, so I would not keep spraining it time and time again. First thing Dr. Lin said after he examined my calf was that "if it hurts everytime you play, then you should not play volleyball". Then he proceeded to tell me my body was not meant for the sport, in which I responded "I've played vball ALL MY LIFE". Then he gave me some pain meds, told me to go get an ultrasound for blood clots if the pain persists, and send me off. No word on how I could better my calf, strengthen it, heal it....nothing. I left the appt feeling like I wasted my time, and my insurance company's money, to come see this doctor - I was really upset. This was not the first time I saw Dr. Lin....I have seen him once or twice before when I really needed to see someone quickly and Dr. Gu was not available. I've been a patient of Dr. Lin since he first started in 1850 Azusa. I used to get sick a lot back in high school and college, so unlike many other doctors, Dr. Lin will always make time to see his patients even if his schedule is full. Dr. Lin is very patient. He always listens to ALL that I have to say. Since I'm the type who loves to google my symptoms.. I always go in and ask him a bunch of questions and whether I have all these diseases or not. After careful examinations, Dr. Lin always explains to me in human language what I have, some descriptions, and his treatments and how they will work. I also love that I can call him when I have a problem at home. He'll always answer the phone right away or call you back within an hour. I feel like the most important part about being a doctor is being available to your patients and he's just that. read more

My husband has multiple medical conditions that are pretty complex, he is also hard of hearing and unfortunately tends to miss the messages if not spoken to clearly. Dr Lin will take the time to explain, and repeat his instructions and rationale to him. Thats awesome!! Many physicians get frustrated with having to repeat themselves, but not Dr Lin I strongly believe that he is genuinely kind and loves giving back to his patients and the community. I haven't write review on Yelp for years, but I think it is good to let all new baby parents know and avoid this worst baby doctor ever in all circumstance. Today is our second time try to see George Lin, my 1yr 4 months daughter had two cuts on her ear, we managed to stop the blood and applied Neosporin Antibiotic and Pain Relieving Cream for Children, this is a must have for baby parents. We didn't have an appointment. The office opens at 8:30am, so we went there and wait. I asked the front desk if dr. Lin could take a minute to take a look at the wound, and let us know what need to be done. "Dr. Lin's appointments are full, go to urgent care." There was not even one patient at the waiting area. The F word was about to came out of my mouth. At that second, we decided to change this doctor. The first time was a week before, we had an appointment at 10:30am, and waited for an hour to get in because there was so many patients at the small waiting area, were waiting for other doctors inside the same office. At 11:30, we waited for an hour to see the doctor. George Lin didn't stay for a second for us to ask question and rush out of the office, I guess this appointment is for routine vaccines, so he didnt want to stay long. i would pay the co-pay if I knew he has this kind of unprofessional ethic. I went on the blue Shield and changed my baby's PCP the first minute I get back to the office. I would strongly avoid George Lin, especially for new baby parents. read more

Completely unprofessional. Questioned my pain after suffering a car accident where both cars were totaled. He made it feel like I was lying and being interrogated. My doctor Dr Ron Gu is the most wonderful doctor in the world. As such his appointments fill up fast. If you need to see a doctor in a hurry the nurse will offer to schedule you to see Dr Lin. Do not accept this offer. He is a pompous jerk. The first and last time I visited him he laughed at me when I told him my symptoms. I'll admit I was a bit of a hypochondriac but a doctor should never laugh at their patient. Maybe I'm just old fashioned. In the future I will wait for Dr Gu no matter what. I agree to Cassie and Valued that if you don't even know what doctor you are seeing, that's your fault. It's totally normal for the doctor to check blood pressure....and so on when you do the first visit. Why? They need to know the basic information aboout your body. If a doctor just write you a prescription without checking you, you should be worried. Dr. Lin has been very nice and thorough on any information you want to know. I remember couple months ago when I took my 2 kids there for the H1N1 flu shots, he even told me the difference between the nose drop and the arm shot. Definitely a doctor that lacks common sense and is outright rude to patients. I understand doctors are busy, however being uninterested and talking over someone is manners learned in elementary. He obviously did not have a good upbringing or was spoiled. I went in with my girlfriend to check her ears because her ear canal was itchy. We described to him that it might be allergies. He did a quick look and prescribed some medicinal oil. The medicinal oil I later found out with for ear wax removal that can be picked up over the counter. He then went out about how she needed to update her shots and trying to set up another appointment. He seemed to be in such a hurry to leave, yet he has time to setup another appointment. FYI he is a downright pervert. He reaches inside the shirt to listen with the stethoscope for girls, but for males he listens it outside the shirt. I saw Dr. Lin but I won't see him again, I'll wait for Dr. Gu. Only a 5 minute wait after check in (I've waited 2 hours at my previous pcp) and though he took time to discuss why I was there, he was condescending and rude. Told me he could write a prescription (which I have tried before and, thought it worked, the condition persisted after medication stopped), or give you a referral. Opted for the referral to specialist & was met with an exaggerated sigh and an "ok then", as if he was upset by my decision. First I like how this place is within 1 min from where I live, second the staffs are very friendly, know how to cheer my kids up with go their smiles and of course stickers. I have been to Dr Lin twice. First time was for my newborn because the insurance appointed him as our primary doctor. Without much knowledge and with a newborn, I went to have my 2 wks check up on my baby. Needless to say, I left the office almost in tears. Dr Lin is condescending, simply a jerk. Being a first time mom with no friends who have babies or family around, I needed a little guidance and support to which I did not get from him. I refused to go back there. Then I went there again since my new insurance appointed me to this office for myself. To my surprise, it was Dr Lin again. Doctor Lin is my family doctor for more than 10 years. He talks to me patiently, and gives me his suggestions to improve my health. Dr. Lin reminds me when I should go to labs for different types of checkup. He and his staff helped me to contact pharmacy and insurance because the pharmacy made a big mistake while claiming payment. Without help from Dr. Lin to solve the big mistake, I will need to pay co-payment for my medicine at about one thousand dollars each month. Dr. Lin is the most honor doctor I have heard. He even asked his staff to return my co-payment to me because my insurance provides one time free co-payment for annual health checkup. I got very lucky choosing Dr. Lin . Everything from the building, the location to the staff to the Doctor are top notch. I went in for a routine physical and blood work. Which turned out to be not so routine . After a sonogram reaffirmed my diagnosis was a major liver problem. Another issue, the cure is $1000 per dose. 90 doses were necessary. My insurance said no, your not covered. No way I could cover this cost. Cirrhosis is present. My only hope was yes Dr. Lin who along with his staff assisted me in apply for assistance. Unfortunately I was denied. Never did this Doctor waver. With persistence he convinced me let him appeal the decision. I didn't know Dr. Lin but his concern for my health and well being was evident. So we appealed lead by Dr. Lin. To our surprise Dr. Lin was able to convince the medical company to grant me assistance. This was an above and beyond effort by Dr George Lin and his staff. Dr Lin has been our family doctor for 4 years. He has always been a very responsible and a great Doctor to us. When I moved from that area over to OC, I thought I would have to go find a new Doctor so I don't have to do that drive, but after trying a couple new doctors we still decide to go back to Dr Lin. I rather do the 60 miles round trip drive to see someone I can fully trust and is always thinking the best interests of his patients than anyone else. read more
