I went in super late right before closing one night. Even though they were almost closed they agreed to take me. I needed stitches and they didn't take my insurance but I paid a cash price and it still saved me a lot of money compared to if I had to go to the ER through my insurance. The staff was super kind and my doctor Lena, did an exceptional job. I was given options and ultimately chose to do stitches. I appreciate their professionalism and help. read more

I I really love this urgent care. The staff are super friendly and the doctors are awesome as they explain everything including the medication that is being given. Sometimes there's a wait, but I still prefer coming here over my regular doctors. 5 stars for the very friendly, super nice, and helpful nurses and receptionists! However, when my child was seen by the what i assume is a doctor and i mentioned about an allergic reaction the doctor said my child looked like she had Hand foot mouth & i even questioned her because it looked nothing like that from what I searched online, plus it wasn't even on her hands or feet and she tried to say there was and u mentioned her skin just turns pink... She even mentioned she wasn't even on the clock and stepped to take a family member to urgent care and wanted to "help out" And honestly it seems like they were just trying to rush us out. I should've asked for a second opinion because she even assumed my child got it from day care and my child does not even go to daycare and isn't even around other children. I did mention that and she said well it could've been from anywhere.... could've sworn HFM comes from contact, but I'm no doctor??? Anyway she prescribed a few things and one being Benadryl & as soon as my child took it within an hour almost the entire rash was gone. So like i said maybe QUESTION the doctors here since it seems like they like to rush and assume things. But i left even more stressed trying to figure out things we need for this "hfm" and doing research on it spent money that i didn't need to of course. After weeks of dealing with a equilibrium issue. I finally had enough and went to After Hours Walk-In Clinic. I'd been here once before, since then they'd repainted and really spruced up the facility. The staff is extremely nice. I was seen within :30 minutes. The MA & NP were very nice, I didn't feel rushed at all. With a through exam for my issue, I was given a Rx to pick up at my pharmacy. Hopefully in a few days I'll be feeling better. My husband went in last week due to vision issues he was having for over a week. Forms were filled out, stating other issues such as excessive weight loss. It doesn't seem as though the provider (Quang) looked at any of the paperwork because they just figured he had an eye infection and prescribed him eye drops. He took a glucose test a couple days later to find out it was close to 3x what it should be. Why were things checked off on a form if they were not going to look at them? We ended up going to another urgent care further to get the care he needed. read more

Excellent care quality but I wish they would treat my son the same way and have equal experience

My family has been advised by our primary doctor to never EVER go to this urgent care again after such negligent care my husband received... he could have died based on the direction he was given. Went in after a major allergic relation to an antibiotic he received for a different issue. He had massive, bleeding blisters on sensitive parts of his body and the day prior had shortness of breath. The doctor left the room for about 15 minutes (presumably googling the symptoms like we did) and came back with the diagnosis we had presumed. It was a condition that affects only 20,000 people a year and can be fatal if not treated properly. She basically said since his blisters looked a little better than the day before, he can just put topical antibiotics on the area and didn't prescribe any medication. Basically sent us home with Neosporin and said if it gets worse to go to the hospital. Oh, and to take some Advil for the pain. Knowing what we know now about the condition and confirmed by 3 doctors since then, he should have been immediately directed to the hospital by her because when this condition "gets worse" it can be fatal quickly. Thankfully, we followed our gut instinct and he took a steroid pack that had been prescribed by a previous NP. We had mentioned this steroid pack to the doctor and she was adamant for him not to take it and just do the topical. Thankfully not listening to that direction most likely saved him. He is now currently being seen by 3 specialists to address this, including a BURN CENTER to treat his wounds. Her direction of the topical ointment also delayed his healing (it's been over a month) and damaged the tissues further. We've since been told that if he had been properly directed to the hospital, they could have given him an injection to stop further damage. If this doctor is reading this, this is for you... if something is out of your scope then just say that and send someone to the hospital already. Don't gamble with someone's life out of pride or whatever internal reason you had to think this was a thorough call. read more

Lyn, the PA, is awesome! (I hope I'm getting her name right). I trust her knowledge and is always on target with her diagnosis. She provides great medical care. It's urgent care, I am going to assume that they are working as fast as they can. I got in after 1 hr of waiting. Considering there was no appointment, it's hard to complain. Granted, I think the office is a little outdated, but the nurse and the nurse practitioner had great bedside manner, and that's so key. Anyway, I can't say I hope to be back here... 4:20 after hours medical group I wouldn't even rate this one star but it's my only option to write this review after going to this place and not receiving care after calling my boyfriend's insurance before we went up there we were told that he could receive care there then we get there and were told that they don't accept his insurance and that we would have to pay WHY HAVE INSURANCE THEN? I was nervous already not knowing what to expect with taking the covid test for the 1st time. Monica who gave me the covid test was so nice. Monica, Lena, Brenda, and Myrna are the BEST and helped me when I needed stitches. Waited maybe 20 minutes as there was only a few people there. The care I received was incredibly satisfactory. The PA Lena took her time and made sure I knew what was going to happen every step of the way before the procedure and made sure I was comfortable. The team paid close attention to me as evidenced by the quick spotting of the signs that I was about to faint (I don't like needles) and made sure I was safe. Overall one of the best experiences with healthcare professionals I've had. The check up the next day was on par with my experience the day before however, I didn't get the name of the doctor or PA who helped me. 3 stars, would recommend! read more

Great Urgent Care. Front office staff was very helpful. Nicole was our nurse she was very professional She also took her time time answering our questions during triage . The services was fast. No wait time. The provider Saul was also very professional. He explained the care plan and answered all our questions. This urgent care is also very affordable. I recommend this place if you are local. I appreciate business like this. The provider didn't rush or try to push unnecessary treatment. Only place that actually closes at 9 and takes patients up until that time. The receptionist and medical assistant were efficient and personable. The Doctor was great. Despite it being past 9 she did not rush our conversation and when I asked questions she was informative and genuine with her responses. TERRIBLE!! they don't even deserve one star. After both my boyfriend and I were treated for shingles (by different doctors) my boyfriend got them again. We went to this clinic hoping for some anti virals to help him heal a littler faster. Granted, I know it's uncommon to get them multiple times, but shingles for some reason is a little different for him. This was Not our first go with this virus! Anyway, the doctor refused to treat him and told us they were irritated bug bites lol; they offered cream. Are you kidding?! So rude and and should be embarrassed to be to clueless. I have to say this Urgent Care clinic exceeded my expectations by far. Today was my very first visit ever to this urgent care and I was very impressed. This says a lot because I am in the health care industry . The Nurse Practitioner Monika Badyal was wonderful. She has the best bedside manner I have seen in long time. Very professional and thorough with examination. She listened closely to me about my health concerns. She took time with me and did not rush me out the door with just a load of prescriptions. Her medical assistant Centina Ontiveros was just as good. she was very attentive and professional. Great staff and service. I'm definitely recommending this clinic to friends/coworkers and family. I don't get why this place has really bad reviews. I couldn't find a urgent care close to my house so I took the risk of driving 20 minutes to this urgent care. The front desk ladies were really nice the doctor was really attentive and herd me out while I explained to her what was wrong with me. I was pleasantly surprised by this urgent care office. It's not much to look at but the staff is very caring and knowledgeable. And the wait wasnt that bad, seeing as how I had no appointment. My nurse had great 'bed side' manner & my doctor was funny and on point. You know when you go to the doctor & they kinda make you feel dumb for not following/understanding their every word? Yeah, that didn't happen here. Oh, and they ACTUALLY listen to you here -- what a concept! :P I kinda wish they could be my primary care physician, especially since they have evening and Saturday hours! On a recent Friday night while wrenching during a plumbing job at home, my tool slipped and next thing I know I was bleeding pretty bad from a large gash on my hand. My experience at Emergency Rooms in the past have been awful & I wasn't about to wait 5-6 hours to be seen at an ER. Knowing there has to be something better than the typical overcrowded ER room, I searched on Yelp & found After Hours Urgent Care in Whittier. Thank God they have evening hours! I was greeted by smiling friendly faces and my wait was not very long. Dr. Mohammedi immediately put me at ease, assessed the damage and got right to work. 8 stitches later & I was good to go. He was very patient with me and he explained everything in detail. You will be hard pressed to find a more friendly & caring doctor around here! I'm very grateful to Dr. Mohammedi & his team for their stellar service. I highly recommend this place and I will go next time without hesitation. read more

Never a fan of using urgent because that usually means I am sick and in a bad mood. The staff here is super nice and after hours is reasonably priced. Hours are good because as we all know, you get sick and taking time off of work is usually difficult to do. Parking is behind the building, easy to get in and out of and it's validated. As I said staff is nice, my co-pay was actually more than what a cash patient would pay. The ladies at the front desk helped me out and informed me of this. Small wait is to be as expected and depending on cold and flu season. But I did get in and out, prescription was awesome. Been here several times cause of my grandson. This place open after 2pm and they validate your parking ticket, parking lot located next door you will see the sign Whittier Medical Center visitor parking, that's where you can park. When you walk in you get a friendly greeting from Claudia. She is the receptionist and also the MA here at the clinic. Make sure you have your medical card cause they do ask even if you have a copy it will help her or the ladies to verify eligibility. The other MA is Myra (I believe) she is also friendly & good with patient. The PA (Physician Assist) is very knowledgeable and very patient. We've seen Antonia L. Roger, she's really good with kids & she explains about our visit as in what or how the patient got sick or the symptoms. I definitely will come back if I have to go to an urgent care. read more

Came in with a sore throat, headache and a runny nose. Symptoms started a day before visit. Was told it was a viral infection and that if it gets worse to come back. Was prescribed over the counter medication that causes drowsiness even when I specifically told the female doctor that I had work at 5 am the next day and that I CANNOT miss any work. There were non drowsy versions of those meds prescribed. 3 days after my first symptoms showing up, I now have uncontrollable wracking coughs that causes me to vomit along with the runny nose, congestion and headache. She did say the sore throat was going to go away and then it'll get worse.... So there was the warning I'm giving this place a two star on the off chance that this is just the way all urgent care treats their patients with my symptoms. Too bad so sad nothing we can do here attitude makes me sick. Just self prescribe yourself over the counter meds. Save yourself time and $$. read more

I have been coming here since my children were born never had an issue with this place in fact I recommended people to even come here. I came in with my sister and a 6 month old baby and the new receptionist which seems to be a new girl gave just a hard time to my poor sister receptionist seems so butt up and dont even want to help people. News flash receptionist your paycheck comes out of my pocket so try to be nice to us customers that keeps the place you work running. I'm leaving this review because I was very impressed by the staff here. On Saturday we needed to go in and my morning had already been at a . Once I got there Maria at the front was very courteous and professional. I waited for her to finish a call with what sounded like an upset patient trying to get ahead of line. She was cool, calm, collective , and so professional. Once I got to the back all the staff was very nice and professional. One even sat there and kindly heard about my anxiety to get the swab lol (poor girl) but she was gentle and my anxiety was out the door. It was truly appreciated that even if they are under so much stress and pressure to stay safe and healthy themselves that they maintained professional and had great patient care.
