The doctor is a pretty decent doctor who listens to your symptoms and sit with you while you talk and he charts. ****Big Negatives**** If you want the doctor to sign paper work for time off work or disability, don't count on it!! You'll have to PAY COPAY to visit him and just to SIGN PAPERS!! Had to do that a couple times because he wouldn't sign and his office workers told me they'll do it but didn't. They even said to come and PAY TO GET THE DOCTOR TO DO HIS JOB. ********** Lots of Chinese patients. Be prepared to wait 30+ minutes even when you have an appointment. I wouldn't go when it's in the mornings. All the elderly patients go from 9am-12pm. Be prepared to wait 1+ hour on a Monday 1 or Saturday!! Hours are a bit odd. There's a 2 hour that the whole office takes lunch so you won't be able to reach anyone or call in for anything until they reopen at 2pm. Also, some days office only open until 12pm!! Office staff are young females. Some knows mandarin some don't. The office size is small with only 14 seats waiting seats. Old looking and feeling seats. Office feels like it's really old and very cramped! read more

I like Doctor Hsiao but the wait time is horrendous even with appointment. Many of my visits, I had to wait for over 1 hour past my scheduled appointment time before seeing the doctor. I understand the one offs but it occurs on half of my visits. read more

Dr Ray Hsiao is a kind and patient doctor. I've been to some doctors who always seemed rushed and don't listen to what you have to say (which I also understand, because they are trying to be efficient and need to see lots of other patients). But Dr. Hsiao is patient and a good listener and he is also straightforward with advice while still being an empathetic person. Too bad I live far away now in LA. But since I've seen him a few times before, I am considering coming back to see him since I only go to the doctor once or twice a year anyway. read more

Dr Hsiao is one of the best family doctors I've had. He really cares about his patients and takes so much time listening to your concerns. He's not a mind reader so make sure you bring in all of your questions so he can plan your treatment! He truly overworks himself by letting so many patients in to see him on the day of because he just cares so much. The front office ladies are really helpful and try to do their best in helping patients. They have a lot of patience for the 30+ patients they speak to every day so have some patience for them as they tend to your needs! And yes, this place is CASH ONLY which it not uncommon for a doctor's office so make sure you bring cash to avoid a 5% fee! I'd recommend Dr Hsiao and his staff to anyone! read more

This doctor might be good for easy issues, but please don't choose him as your primary as he would not offer any help in critical situations. My dad was hospitalized and they found a pancreatic mass with high tumor marker. We needed primary's help to submit urgent request since there was only one doctor in network that can do the biopsy to confirm cancer or not. instead of realizing the urgency and try to help us, he just brushed it off as (1) not big deal, one week, one month there's no diff (2) even if he submits it to the insurance, it might not get approved. He even tried to ease the situation by telling my mom my dad only had a cyst and it's nothing. After 7 weeks getting no treatment under allied pacific, we decided to move my dad to St Jude. two days after we got admitted to St. Jude, they confirmed my dad has pancreatic cancer. If we had believed him and relied on Allied pacific, i'm not sure we would've come out of san gabriel valley medical center alive. He is not a doctor you can count on at urgent situations, please do yourself a service and stay away from him (and allied pacific). read more

Even with an appointment the wait time is always about an hour or more. Granted, I haven't had the time to go on a weekday, but the weekends are overbooked for sure. Even after you get to step into the back rooms you'll have to wait 15-20 minutes for a session with him that is usually just 10-15 minutes. It doesn't feel very personal, and if I can switch physicians I will. Probably will be using this hour I'm stuck here in this hell to do so. read more

I have been to Dr Hsiao,s office 3 times as a patient who has medical background/ knowledge. Upon my initial annual physical , he didn't even do any physical assessment, nor listen to my lung sounds, nor bowel sounds, nor basic ENT check, etc, nothing , nothing was done, instead, just went over lab results. I would give 0 star rating if available. I would also consider consulting a lawyer , if any other patients who had similar experiences. read more

I was previously assigned to different doctor for my health insurance and decided to switch because the doctor before did not care about her patients but take as much patients as possible. Found Dr Hsiao from my coworkers recommendations and he definitely made me feel the care and concern he has to his patients. He tries hard to discover any hidden syndrome that could occur to you and he would help provide some recommendations for different specific health exams. After the exam, he would call you with his personal phone and see if everything is going well. I am glad that I switched from my previous doctor to him! read more

Dr. Hsiao is a really good family doctor. I see people of all ages visit him. Though he is incredibly busy on weekends, there a reason. He's not like some doctors where they try to go trough the patients fast. He takes his time and listens to why you are there. He's also very through in his diagnosis and won't pawn you off to someone else if your condition doesn't get better. I would recommend making an appointment for weekdays and if you must go on a Saturday go early in the morning or else you may end up waiting 1-2 hours. That's the only thing ): dr. Dr. Hsiao is cold and arrogant and so are his nurse. My mother went in to see him couple time for her headache. The dr barely listen to my mom's issue and quickly try to brush her off. If you like impatient, rude and careless then his the right doctor for you. read more

After checking out the yelp reviews, we decide to drop by this place because my husband was having an infection. After waiting for almost 2 hours, the doctor finally popped up. He spent approximately 5 mins and hurriedly rush us out the door. Yes, it only ~5min! He didn't do any check up at all. We told him that the pain must be some kind of infection and he just took 1 quick look all he did was "ok, I give you antibiotics" and that was it. I dont care how an expert you can be, but at least tell us the problem. very disappointing. I guess he is not knowledgeable enough to know it himself. Not sure all those 5 stars are family/ friends related, but we didn't have a good impression. read more

Terrible experience. The staff is the worst. They Don't answer the phones half the time. And they never call you back when you leave a message asking for a call back. I left messages for over a week When my prescription expired. Ive been without my meds for weeks while I try to find a new Dr. And every time I visit he never knows why I'm there. I arrived at the office for initial appointment and was told to collect insurance deductible. So I called the insurance to verify, and even the insurance agent asked about the normal claim process with the lady, but she replied, "it's a big city, many people in and out, we cannot just take chance as business". Really? Even with a service member and the military insurance from this Country? When tried to pay the deductible anyway, then was told "Cash only"! I've been going to Dr. Hsiao for years. He really cares about his patients and tries his hardest to protect them health-wise. My pharmacist recommended Dr. Hsiao to me and I'm so glad that she did. He is such a nice doctor and seems to be very thorough regarding my long term medical issues. He paid extra attention to review my long standing medical records since I was a new patient. The wait was not too long either most of the time. Dr. Hsiao is an amazing doctor. Although the waiting time is long, Dr. Hsiao is worth the wait. Sometimes when it is a minor case, one could be out of the office in 5 minutes. In more critical cases, he devotes all his time to address any concern. In both situations, Dr. Hsiao is very accurate in his diagnosis. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE!! I was trying to make an appointment as a new patient. The lady who answered the call did not want to help at all. I asked her if the dr would be able to do a certain procedure at the visit today, she said "it depends". I asked nicely, depending on?? She said it depends on if the dr has the stuff that he needs. So I asked if she can find out now, she said no! And she also said it depends on whether the dr needs to do something else when I am being seen? Then she said "if you do not want the appointment, that is totally fine!" And of course I did not keep the appointment. To me, they do not care about anything. And that is not what I want. read more
