I love George and my puppy loves it so much! The only bad experience I have had (otherwise it's 5 star rating) is with the Asian lady working the front that said "your dog is about to pee on our toys" after walking 5 blocks down watching him pee and poop. Lol no my dog did not have to pee and she said this to me twice. She's the rudest worker and after paying hundreds of dollars in pet toys and treats I'd suggest hiring nicer workers. read more

M&M have been going to George since they were located on California Street and they LOVE George (a testament to what a great pet store it is). George carries only high quality dog food (i.e. orijen, acana, stella & Chewy's...) as well as high quality treats. George also designs and makes its own brand of high quality bedding, collars, leashes, harnesses and toys. They also sell doggy baked goods, great for doggy birthdays! But what's best about George is the amazing and friendly service. Deborah, the store manager may be M&M's favorite person in this world. She knows our names, remembers that Mochi is allergic to chicken and only gives him non chicken treats and provides great advice on food, grooming and dental care advice. Not that my cat is particularly picky when it comes to toys, but I have never seen him as excited as he was when I gave him the catnip cigar that the women who works here suggested. She also gave me some chicken treats to take home for him which made me happy. He loves new snacks. I have to go back though, I got my cat a toy that was a ball with a feather on it and he loved it so much...until I stepped on it and broke it. I tried to put it back together but it's just not the same. He doesn't think it's as fun anymore. read more

My husband and I love George. They have such high quality, healthy organic treats for our furry child/dog. It's nice that they have such a variety of treats and love that they have locally made healthy snacks for our little guy. The staff is always so friendly and super helpful. We recently got the raw bone marrow for him to try. The staff educated us on the benefits (joints & dental) of it for our dog. One of my dog's favorite treats is the salmon skin... Very cute pet store! I didn't even know this was here until I needed to buy some dog treats and Yelp let me know George was here to save the day. It's a small store so it's easy to miss if you aren't looking for it. Inside there are plenty of toys, treats and pet accessories that are super adorable. I bought a pack of hamburger flavored "healthy" dog treats, which seemed a bit pricey at $8.50 but the packaging was so cute! The lady behind the counter was very nice as well. read more

George has an awesome assortment of dog treats. Probably the largest assortment I have ever seen. You can purchase them by weight and bag them up in the cute brown bags they provide you. My dog LOVES the "lamb bark," for lack of a better term. I would give it 4.5 stars if I could just because it is a little pricey for dog treats. For example, the dog bark is $7.80 per 1/4 pound and the if you purchase a pre-made jar of treats it can be almost $30. In addition to the regular treats, they have specialized birthday cakes, cookies, and party hats. The collections of leashes and matching collars is definitely above average, and all stylish and trendy, but I think they should expand their assortment. You can also find shampoos, sweaters/jackets, squeaky toys, "chuck-its," poop bags and cat accessories. When I'm in the mood to spoil by beloved shih tzu, George will never fail to please her! read more

I walked into this store one day because 1. I work in the area. ( No not one of the fortunate ones to live in the Pacific Heights District, rolls eyes) 2. Because a co-worker of mine had a really cool matching collar and leash for her beautiful dog and told me she got them here at this store. I walk in. Small cute boutique looking store. Beautiful and interesting items. Thinking to my clumsy self, "Please don't knock anything over in here. Act cool as a cucumber." Thank goodness my clumsy self did not have my handsome clumsy boy with me that day, although now that I think about it maybe I would have got treated better with him there. I mean this one employee was attentive but she was riding my backside too close for comfort and would ask me every 2 minutes did I need help. "Thank you lady for the umpteenth time but I am just looking if that is allowed." In my head this conversation took place :) I guess this happens when they have more employees than customers in the store at the one time. I did not find a collar or leash that I could justify spending $55.00 and up for each. I understand the area and the type of store it makes perfect sense to them to have these prices but to walk out for there with just 2 items that would cost just me and my husband 2 weeks of groceries! No way Nelly! I think if I had the mindset to walk in there expecting to over $100.00 I just might have enjoyed the experience but I did not so therefore I was uncomfortable there in this closet size cute store where the poor 4 legged customers ( really, they are the ones who count ) did not have room to wag their happy tails. GREAT hospitaltity, always friendly, very knowlegeable staff and clerks. Very close to my house- love the variety of snacks, food items, collars, toys and treats. My dog Butters loves it here and Stella they get free treats when they walk in... no run in the door. Products are trustworthy and good quality- you get what you pay for in life. I do all of my shopping for my cat at George! Toys, climbing towers, food, treats, accessories, you name it and they've got it! Not only do they have a huge selection on anything and everything you could possibly need for your cat or dog but they have great prices! Something that is not true for most pet supply stores! I promised my dog that I'd Yelp one of his favorite stores. It's a very cute shoppe and a nice place to buy something special for your pooch, or a nice gift. Baxter-Boo once received a George certificate for his b-day from my friend Heidi, so I took him over and he got to pick out the loot all by himself. So wifey and I find ourselves wandering the streets of SF in search of nothing in particular and we stumble upon this store. We were drawn in after taking a peek and seeing the shear volume of stuff packed in to the place. So I'm cool with big chain type stores for everyday needs for my little guy Princeton, but for toys and clothes and such (Yes I put clothes on my dog and I'm completely sane, I swear.) I prefer little boutiques like this one. I will say George is a bit more expensive than I'm used, and a few of the toys they had I've actually seen at PetSmart for quite a bit less. But maybe I'm just not used to SF pet boutique prices,I live in Campbell. I actually didn't wind up getting anything cause the only thing I really wanted was a new sweater for Princeton and the average price was like $100. I won't even spend that on a sweater for me most of the time so I'm sure as hell not spending it on my dog. Definitely five stars, the staff was super nice and really friendly, even though we didn't buy anything and gave they us a few good recommendations for lunch. BTW. When we mentioned where we were from one of they girls started talking to the other about how she'd heard the only puppy boutique in our area had recently closed and how they should look in to opening up in Campbell! As noted by Katie, this shop pays considerable attention to kitty needs, often given short shrift by pet supply stores. Still, Oreo remains unimpressed - he's too busy playing with an empty toilet paper roll and the plastic cap from a discarded deodorant container to pay attention to toys that cost money. He even turns up his nose at catnip. George won't make any money off him, but Oreo's happy it's there for those who need it, and says to give them four stars for caring about cats. read more

I always thought that George was just a dog store, but I walked by today and their window display was full of adorable knit kitty toys. In combination with my roommates, there are currently three cats in my apartment so we are always on the lookout for cute cat supplies. I will definitely be back here. They had super sweet little leather cat collars, lots of organic catnip toys, and bulk cat treats. George is a fantastic dog specialty store. They have great merchandise -- high quality food, fun toys, great dog gear and a fun staff that is equipped with yummy dog treats. My dog walks in and goes straight to the counter for her treat. Their staff is knowledgeable and they are very involved in pet care. After the China dog food disaster, they changed their food selection (even though it wasn't recalled) and they were up to date on all of the newest information. That was very comforting. This place can be priced on the high side, so is most appropriate for dogs that love to be spoiled and owners that love to pamper them. read more

George has some really cute toys - very unique. High priced - but no surprise here. And they have really nice dog beds, collars and leashes. But I'm pretty bummed - I went in twice recently to order new dog tags for my dogs. Had a hard time communicating with the owner (I think she's the owner or a manager) - she was really flippant. I'm about to move so I needed clear instructions on how they're going to get delivered. And now I don't have the tags yet and we move in like two days. I was at pug Sunday in Alta Plaza Park and walked past this store on my way home. We went in and the guy at the counter gave my pup some treats and petted her for a while. I come here to buy presents for a dog or cat (let's be honest, it's for the human), and George makes for a great spot because the place mats, beds, and toys for the most part are well made and pretty to look at. I don't know much about their treats/snacks, so perhaps it would be worth while to buy them here as opposed to anywhere else. It seems like buying select items from here make sense, but buying all of your pets' needs here seems unsustainable. It's all a judgment call from my perspective as each pet owner decides what's worth spending money on. read more

Fabulous high end gear for your pooch! They have a great line of George branded coats, beds, bowls, mats, collars and leashes. They have jars of different treats, so you can pick and choose your pups' faves. I'm not one to dress up my dog, but they have super cute costumes at Halloween. And at Christmas they have cute scarf like collars with bells. The folks that work there love animals. This place is okay. I found the weiner dog toy that they have on the petsmart commercial there for my girl. They have the weiner dog in multiple sizes. Unfortunately, for active dogs that toy doesn't last long (think 15 minutes)! That wasn't a good investment. Although, you can't blame George as I've had similar experiences with toys from Petco and Bella & Daisy's. Anyhow, this place has a decent selection of toys, treats, beds, etc.. Although, I didn't see much (if any clothing) for dogs. I will only go here if I'm in the neighborhood, but not to make a special trip. read more
