They have bad selection of nba stuff don't think I even saw any Celtics stuff. They getting 1 star cause of customer service I walked in looked around for about 10 minutes and not one employee ask me if I needed help. I was the only one in store so not sure why. These employees are very unprofessional and very uninterested in doing there job. Maybe expression should offer commissions to there employees in order to get them up off there LAZY ASSES and actually do something the job already easy you only moving cloth around the least you can do is provide service to a CUSTOMER!

The store was not busy, but despite there being at least three employees on staff, I wasn't greeted and when I was ready to ask for sizes, I was ignored. Eventually, one staffer took my size request and sent another employee to get it. I watched the person who came out with the shoe walk over to another customer with the shoes I was waiting on. That customer had no idea what was going on and I just watched in disbelief. Once I got to the register and they figured out that I was waiting on those sneakers which were the last pair of their kind, things only got worse. Normally, when you buy something the salesperson says the total out loud, but apparently, not here. I was so annoyed, I simply wanted to pay and get the hell out of there. As soon as I got the shoes and the receipt, I noticed I was overcharged $5. Not a huge amount, but when I pointed out that the sneakers were priced differently than what I was charged I got an attitude. Instead of doing a price adjustment and apologizing to me for being rude and overcharging me, the "supervisor" was called over and he told me that people (read: customers) change prices all the time and the price I paid was correct. He basically called me a thief to my face after having endured their horrible customer service and inferior retail professionalism. I told him the right thing to do is honor the price on the display. He refused and I kindly told him to go ahead and refund me. This is the WORST retail experience I've ever had...EVER. I have worked in retail as a salesperson and a manager and the way I was treated was inexcusable! Between the complete lack of common custom courtesy, arguably breaking the law with the bait and switch pricing, and the fact that the staff treated me like dirt instead of a paying customer...I wouldn't recommend this location to ANYBODY! I wouldn't go back there to buy a pair of shoelaces.

I visited the Jamaica Plain shop today with my brother, on what happened to be the 27th anniversary of my father's passing. What could have been a heavy, emotional day was transformed into something unexpectedly meaningful, thanks in large part to the experience I had with Jessen. He spent well over an hour with me, patiently walking through countless combinations of styles, shapes, and colors -- not rushing, not upselling, just exploring what really worked. He was thoughtful, kind, and extraordinarily knowledgeable, and it was clear he genuinely enjoyed the process of helping me find the right hat. That enthusiasm was contagious; time absolutely flew by. I left with a beautiful hat and a matching scarf, each with its own story -- down to where the wool came from and how it was made. That level of care and passion isn't something you can fake. It's obvious that Jessen and Andria care deeply about their craft, their customers, and the experience they create in the shop. This was, without question, the best experience I've ever had in a hat store. The selection is fantastic, but it's the heart, expertise, and hospitality that make Salmagundi truly special. If you're anywhere near Boston and even thinking about a hat, do yourself a favor and go see Andria and Jessen. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

When we went in, both staff members were friendly and super helpful. They let us know there was more downstairs, didn't even realize there was a downstairs! I picked out a great top and pants for my husband and he picked out a cute dress with jean jacket for me. The clothes were weather appropriate but there are also options for cold weather in various spots because it was still getting cold at night in Boston. The probably best part was all the art that was available from independent artists. I got so many stickers and posters to gift and hang in my house. Cat tarot cards are great and I'm so happy we stopped in here because the vibe was 10000% better for us than other thrift shops. I also got book earrings, an elephant bracelet, and another pair of earrings. . The prices are reasonable and there's some great things in there even from the 90s.
