First they took one court away, and now they're taking BOTH courts starting April 19. Basketball has always been one of the main reasons people come here, and now it feels like that doesn't matter at all. Instead, pickleball is taking over the entire space with prime-time hours--6-9:30 PM on Tuesdays and Thursdays and 6-9 PM on other days--basically making it impossible for anyone to play basketball after work. On top of that, the courts were never even taken care of properly. The basketball floors are rarely cleaned, and the wood clearly needs to be polished. For a gym charging around $150 a month, you would expect much better maintenance, but it feels like they never cared about the basketball side at all. Another issue is the hours. The basketball courts close at 11 PM Monday through Thursday, and the entire club closes at 11 PM on Fridays--which is crazy considering most locations stay open later. This is the only club I know closing that early on a Friday. After over 20 years of being a loyal member, it feels like long-time members are being pushed aside. The gym might look nice, but taking away something this important--and not even maintaining it properly while it was there--completely ruins the experience.

With not much to do this winter because of covid, this still feels safe because they limit the number of people. They charge $8 per person for drop in play. We usually do have to set up our own nets and put down tape to mark off the courts,that would be one of the glitches I'm talking about but as a pickleball addict I am willing to do it along with the others.

He got to know the manager and was proud to introduce me to him and the entire staff. The staff, the facilities and the equipment was always great. Recently, I returned for a vacation and stayed at a nearby hotel. I bought a week long pass to this gym and as soon as I walked in, it was as if I was whisked back in time for a while. They've made some updates the past few years including an area that goes beyond your typical equipment - along with the class offerings that go with it. But their women's bathroom is in desperate need of an overhaul. The doors don't close all the way (they are hanging poorly and the lock doesn't fully reach across), the stalls are so dated, it isn't always clean - it feels very institutional. They need to reinvest in their equipment - having already started by updating their free weights. I'd like to see better maintenance on their aerobic machines upstairs. No pics allowed - I'm a strict rule follower when it comes to that one.

Also, there is a curtain which divides the courts and is too close to the baseline and impedes some plays.

After an extensive 10 lesson package which included swing analysis, club fitting and 5 practice sessions, I can truly say my golf swing and game is in a much better place. My instructor is Jonathon Callas and I enjoy working with him. He slowly and methodically tweaked my swing which to where it's at today. My son met the 42-inch height requirement and has safely enjoyed similar attractions before, yet we were still made to feel uncomfortable and singled out throughout our visit. What upset me the most was watching my son cry after getting hurt, and instead of showing concern or compassion, staff looked at him, walked away, and laughed with another coworker. As a parent, that was heartbreaking and completely unacceptable to witness. No child should ever be treated with such disregard, especially when they are visibly upset and crying. Throughout the visit, my children both older and younger were watched excessively, which made us feel targeted instead of welcomed. As a Black family, the treatment we experienced raised serious concerns about bias and discrimination. I fully understand the importance of safety rules, but rules should be enforced respectfully and equally for everyone. Families come to these facilities to feel safe and enjoy time together, not to feel humiliated, ignored, or judged. I will be contacting the district and administration for both facilities to formally report these experiences and seek accountability. I hope steps are taken to ensure no other family or child is made to feel this way again.

The level of professionalism from the paid coaches down to the volunteer managers is amazing, and a sign of the quality leadership in this nonprofit club. The most impressive thing about Troy Soccer Club is that they are truly invested in every single player, to make them the best they can be on an individual level. While wins are important at the club level, this is not a 'win at all costs' organization. Every player that makes a team plays. No favorites, no bench-warmers. Not all clubs have this mentality.
