Been a runner for decades. Sales recommended Aftershocks headset that fits behind your head, over the ears and lays against your temples. Wow, they stay in place, good sound for podcasts, receive/make calls and listen to music! When cycling I like to keep my ears free. I have earbuds, headsets. These are great. This overall experience has been both incredible and challenging. I've gained valuable insights into what's best for my left fused ankle. Regrettably, I wish I had returned for the correct size instead of the oversized shoes. They were quite noisy, and I'm not sure why my husband was bothered when I walked into a pair of slightly too-big sneakers (wrong size than my regular size shoes) for me. I was wearing an eight-size shoe, and adjusting to the new environment in Germany made the noise from these sneakers bother other people. It was a result of what my parents had purchased for me! On the positive side, the store has been incredibly helpful and provided me with excellent guidance on the right kind of sneakers for my needs. However, the retailer should have checked my size before rushing off. I thoroughly enjoyed this store because it offered all the necessary methods to address my fused ankle and balance issues. Went to get fitted for walking shoes. Got measured by their high tech scanner. Young man said I needed a 6 1/2. I have never worn anything bigger than a 6 my entire life (I'm 68). He brought out 2 pair of shoes, 6 1/2. I tried them on. There was 1" of extra toe space and the width was so wide that my foot was sliding around. I asked if he had anything in a 6 and he said he could not fit me if I didn't want a 6 1/2. Not going back. read more

This store is very safe during the pandemic, worth masks mandatory ( and available) and two hand sanitizer stations. They also have great customer service. We arrived after closing time, but we're let in and graciously served. They sell Goodr sunglasses at a good price, which is the draw for my hubby. read more

I stopped at the store on Sunday morning. I was greeted by both Drew the store manager and Mariam. Both were very friendly and welcoming. Drew was able to assist me as Mariam was helping another customer. I was AMAZED at the outstanding service. The store had 2 computerized pads that I stepped on to measure my foot in several different ways. Per the instant results from this report, Drew brought me some shoes that fit GREAT. He took his time with me, was patient, he made sure I was happy and of course,0 made a sale! Unlike other retailers, the store allows you to wear the shoes for up to 60 days. After the time we spent to find the right fit, I don't believe I will have to return these. He was an aficionado in the shoe industry! Oh and by the way he noticed it was raining when I was leaving and he wanted to give me an umbrella so I did not get wet! Excellent customer service all the way! If I could give a 0 review I would. There was a woman working today (03/21/2021) with brown shoulder length hair who was absolutely disgustingly rude. Running fit should be ashamed to have hired her. We patiently waited outside for 20 minutes due to Covid restrictions and walked in when the appropriate number of customers walked out. As we finally came in to pick out our shoes quietly without asking for any help, without even saying "hi" or "welcome in" the lady working was rude and started with "I can't help you" and "I have to finish with this customer". I wanted to like Running Fit--because I'm a runner and want to support the local running stores--but my experiences at Running Fit have been mixed. The good (and why I give it 2 stars): some of the staff is helpful and friendly. Also, Running Fit organizes the Martian Marathon/Half-Marathon/Meteor 10k races every April--these are fun races! The bad (and why I give it 2 stars): Customer service is not so great. For instance, I had gone in there for a pair of shoes but they didn't have my size. They said they would order them and it would take a couple of weeks. I stopped in the store about 3 weeks later because (1) I had a gift card to spend; and (2) I wanted to check on the status of my shoes. When I inquired about my shoes, the dude that was working there said (in a snotty tone): "Well, did we call you?" Me: "No." The dude: "well then, they're not in yet. We'll CALL you when they're in." ANYWAY, guess what? They NEVER effing called me about my shoes! And the guy was a snot. p.s. This was not the first time the staff was snotty to me, either. I thought runners were supposed to be friendly? I'm friendly! My advice? If you go to Running Fit, proceed with caution. read more

I have been frustrated lately. Running is a relatively new thing for me. I got my 1st running shoes another local running store. I thought I got a great shoe. I never had an issue except an occasional black toe nail. So, I went back to that store for new shoes after they were worn out. Apparently, the 1st pair of shoes I got were too small. That was 1-1/2 years ago. I got refitted again. I was put in a Nike shoe that was way too narrow. The 2rd visit, I was given a shoe that was too big. Needless to say, I did not want to go back. So, I decided to check out Running Fit in Farmington Hills. I was helped by a young man named Troy. I gave him my whole story. He listened with a smile and reassured me that he will get me in the right shoe. He said he's there to help me understand all of those crazy specs on the shoes that I read about. He refitted me on the machine. He measured my feet to check out my size, and he watched me walk a lot. So, he brought me a few shoes to try. 2 of them were definitely winners, Mizuno Wave Rider 16 and Brooks Ghost 6. He really spent time with me and made sure i was happy. I never felt like I was taking up his time. Troy is a gem! He knows his stuff and he's got great customer service. He truly loves to run and happy to help. I really appreciate all of his help, especially after having a not so great experience at the other store. The store also carries a decent line of clothing. I was interested in some items, but I needed to stay on track Maybe next time! I would definitely go back for more gear. I am so happy about my experience! Thanks to Troy! read more

Wow, I stopped at Running Fit Yesterday and the experience was lousy. The reason I gave two stars instead of one star was because the lady working there was nice but the guy was a real snotty and rude person who made me feel uncomfortable. I was looking for a zip up warm up jacket that I could unzip a bit rather than take it off completely. I was talking with the lady and she suggested a zip up that I didn't like Bc of the material- it was scratchy. The guy interrupts and in an aggressive and challenging voice 'why, u running without a shirt on underneath?" I said 'no, short sleeves'..... I felt so uncomfortable and frustrated, I actually had tears in my eyes after leaving. I will never shop there again for fear of being made to feel less than by a jerky salesperson. Never ever try to make a customer feel dumb Bc of their personal preference. That's why there are choices. read more

Stopped in to this store for some energy supplements before the half marathon in the fall. Though I normally visit a Detroit local running store, this is near my work and I decided to give it a try. The guy working was very helpful, and I ended up having a conversation with him about running and training, even though I was just there to buy energy goo. When I am ready for my next pair of running shoes, I will likely give running fit a try to see their suggestions, along with my usual spot. read more

So far pretty impressed with Running Fit. I am currently taking their Running 101 class. It is an 8 week class that ends with a 5k. So far the staff have been pretty helpful and friendly. They are in a new location at Maple and Orchard Lake between the Olgas and Plum Market. I bought a pair of running shoes here. The salesperson was very helpful and brought out several shoes to try on. They have some high tech machine to check your foot arch and what shoes would be best. I know I overpronate so I did not have to use the machine, but I saw another customer use it. They have a great selection of merchandise, too. read more

I really great customer service here. I used to get my running shoes at like TJ Maxx (lol) until I went here. I bought some running shoes there about 8 months ago, and they were perfect for my type of foot, lots of support, no pain or pinching during my runs or gym activities. I called the store TWICE to inquire if they had an item in stock. They assured me they did. I drove a half hour out of my way after work to get to the store to find out they did NOT have the item. Then the sales person told me I should have called 1st! Excuse me???? I did....TWICE! I came here to try shoes because it's close to where we live. The level of service we received from the two gals that helped us (me and my wife) was superb. Let me say this for both of them, they knew their products and knew how to fit them. If you've never been expertly fitted for running shoes you need to look for a store that has capable and knowledgeable people with experience. You can't buy good running shoes at a sporting goods store unless you know exactly what shoe you're shopping for. You have to take the time to get fitted and research your shoes. And then you'll find your needs change, (when you run your feet change too) and you need expert advice even more. Running Lab in Brighton is good too, but seems pricier. read more

This store should be awesome. But the customer service was so horrendous that I walked out and will never come back. I waited patiently while every single person in the store was waited on before I was. 45 minutes later, when the THIRD person who came in AFTER I did was waited on and no one had even greeted me or said they'd be with me in just a minute, I'd had enough and I left. I understand that other locations are great and my running friends have raved about the Novi store, but this one is not worth your time. read more
