Dennis stayed right with him while I checked in and got our boarding passes. And shoutout to "Q" at the ticket counter for making that process quick and easy. Dennis then walked us through security up to his office on the second level where Matt met us to examine the injuries. Matt put 9 stitches in my husband's hand that had been sliced open and checked out his other abrasions. (It could have been so much worse!) Then they walked us to our gate to assure flight personnel that he was fit to travel. Our flight out was delayed, so we were able to rejoin our group and not miss our flight. And shoutout to Austin Bergstrom Airport for employing a PA to have for emergencies such as this!

This private airport is in Pflugerville, which is not too far from my loft in the W in Downtown Austin. I would give them five stars, but the one thing I wish they had was food service onsite. We don't run a full crew on my G5 because I fly infrequently, so my assistant is always having to call in catering to coordinate with our departures. It would be a nice perk if Austin Executive Airport would handle these arrangements. Traffic is usually light except for Friday and Sunday evenings, so the tower never has more than two planes stacked up for either takeoff or landing. You're on the ground or in the air quick. One final note, if you're flying in for Formula 1, this is absolutely the place to land. Texas 130 toll road brings you right to the track and you don't have to deal with the madhouse at Austin-Bergstrom. I'm just landing a G5, so I don't need a long strip, but the landing strip at Austin Executive Airport is over 6,000 feet long, so it should handle whatever you're flying up to an Airbus.

We didn't know that our flight was located at the South terminal - but learned after going through…read morethe main Austin Airport terminal after going through TSA . After finding that out, our flight was delayed and the only way to get to the terminal was through the airline shuttle and they wouldn't pick us up until an hour and half before our new delayed flight time. So, we had no where to sit at for another hour and half and went back to the main Austin airport TSA to sit in a general area to relax and have access to food. I like that the Airport terminal is small, but TSA here was different than their main building. They had everyone remove their laptops and iPads/tablets which slowed down the lines because a lot of us assumed since their main building down the street had us keep it in our bags the same applied. They have a small little spot to purchase cold sandwiches, snacks, cocktails. Also, a taco truck outside which is cool and different.

There is also a shuttle that takes (approx 15 min ) to get to the main terminal if needed. While waiting for your flight , there is a mini cafe to order coffee and to go food or buy last minute souvenirs. Its not a large footprint, but ample enough so one will not feel crowded. As of this post there are 3 commercial flights between Waco and Dallas that cover a distance of 90 miles, and 50 minutes via American Eagle. The flights tend to be booked as American Eagle are normally staffed / managed by 3rd parties. Because of various reasons the outsourcing of these flights can result in delays. I some times question if it's easier to drive or fly between Dallas and Waco, or potentially fly into Austin. But if flying it's an easy commute flight if the connections make sense. I have flown into Waco several times and have never had a bad experience at this facility.

The several times I flew out of here, I arrived an hour before my flight, used my app to check-in, check my bags and go through TSA in less 20mins lol. American Airlines only fly in and out of this airport and they always fly to the DFW airport for your connecting flight unless your final destination is in DFW. Flights to and from this airport is definitely more expensive vs if you flew out of Houston or Austin, but if you mind the 1.75hrs drive and possible traffic and don't mind spending a little more convenience, then this is a great option. There's ample parking, a small area to chill and eat and a decent sized waiting area for your gate. There are only 2 gates so you won't get lost lol. All staff that I've dealt with have been nothing, but super friendly and fast. I live less than 10mins from here so I've always had a free ride so I don't know how the parking situation is here or how much it costs per day.

This is not an airport to come and hang out too early to avoid the "crowds". The runway area is fairly large, which helps with the military-related air traffic and of course the private jets that probably come in on a football weekend. The Texas A&M fire school is still close by, and the ride into the main campus area is longer than I remember when I first landed here in 1979.
