Okay, whoa, I stand corrected: there's another juice bar in town! Here, at Georgetown Market, it's a full-service juice bar. Finally, I made it to this place. I had a vague idea of what it was for a long while, until I read these reviews! After being house bound and quarantined with a stomach flu recovery, where would the very first place we go be? A Juice bar. Thankfully, Georgetown Market exists. Interestingly, by car, it's very accessible from downtown. From the 65 North ramp on Michigan to being right off the Lafayette Rd exit, it's a 10 minute drive. Their juice concoctions range from a veggie menu to fruit and then a combination of both. I got the Jungle Juice: bananas, pineapple, lime juice, spirulina -- yes, please and thank you for making me feel amazing for the first in a week, and better than I've been inawhile. Why do I not drink spirulina every day? I also tried the Cherry Jubilee (jubilee usage sighting -- yes!), and it was very good. And the wheatgrass was as stellar as ever. Also their quirky way of price tags of printing sticky ones off gave me the chance to sticker myself; I like that. Then, we roamed the aisles and found our trusty Dr. Bronner's soap -- this time almond. Plus, they nixed another stop on our day with their dog treats section and their all-meat bone. They introduced us to our first ever Reed's Ginger Brew Chew. For a dime. And, they had the clay water cooler tank we've been looking for, and a water jug, and a water jug refill station. The water is 49¢ a gallon (so that's $2.50 a jug) and the first Monday of every month it's 25¢ a gallon. Cheers to this place. Big, big, cheers. read more

I've seen this place for years and had never stopped until recently. Thank goodness I arrived early for a lunch and had some time to kill in the area. I took some time to browse up and down the aisles and picked up a few things, but I was mainly there to browse. I have been reading cookbooks and articles about switching to a plant-based diet, and several of the ingredients listed in the recipes aren't thinks I typically cook with, like nutritional yeast and coconut oil. Both items, as well as many others I had my eye out for, were fully stocked with several options for brands, sizes, etc. I was pleased to see that Georgetown Market wasn't just a vegan or plant-based food center. I saw local dairy from Traders Point Creamery and meats from Smoking Goose. The next time I stop by, I'm going to check out the cafe. I love this hidden gem just off Lafayette rd! Whether you're looking for a quick bite to eat or some healthy groceries this place is one of a kind. I stop by often to grab a healthy lunch and juice from the juice bar! I highly recommend the monkeys uncle or the jungle juice from the bar. Vegan Paradise! I was in the area for lunch and made my husband do a quick u-turn to stop by Georgetown Market. They have a little bit of everything at the market from fresh produce to personal hygiene. It is a medium sized market and includes a cafe. I'm definitely returning for the cafe food which includes pre-packaged items (vegan & vegetarian options) and made to order options. Georgetown market is just that. A small market on Georgetown road with all the healthy food one could want. So Georgetown market has been like my go to recently for smoothies and juices. Def check out the juice bar. What's even better is you can make your own concoction and add things to their premade juices and smoothies. If you're unsure, ask the staff. They are great! I'm big on checking prices at grocery stores. I'd suggest not to get their fruit as it's more expensive than Whole Foods and Kroger. However, if you check in on the yelp app there is a discount on produce. I just can't bring myself to pay that much more. read more

I was in GM this morning 3/2/2023 at 930am and encounter the rudest service I have ever received in GM. The young lady cashier whos name according to my receipt is "Jalyn" was very rude all i asked was did they sell yogurt she replied "yes". where was it I replied as she pointed to an area in the back of the store she said very dry "dairy". I walked back to that area and you guessed it no yogurt i asked another associate who showed me where it was. I picked a few more items and went to the cashier and said to "Jalyn" it wasn't in the area she pointed me to, she responded by saying "well you found it didn't you". I was surprised at her response as this isn't typical for the customer service I'm accustomed to in this store but i will not be spending anymore of my money with this market which is a shame because I get a lot of my healthy vitamins and honey and that fabulous banana chocolate chip bread but its not worth it to be treated like this for no reason customer service was very poor. read more

My second find in the Indy area for a natural/organic grocery. I liked the produce section - 80-90% of the fruits and veggies were local sourced and everything (local or imported) was organic. It was not a huge selection because of the outlying criteria but what they had looked decent for the most part.... The bulk section here was ok. Not as interesting as the bulk section at The Good Earth in BRipp. They had three nut butter choices you could buy from the bulk section and I want to let you know right now that the almond butter is TO DIE FOR. I liked their fresh and frozen meat selections. This was the reason I staked this place out - they have stuff from smoking goose and other local indiana farms. I liked that they had cuts of meat that were frozen, but also meat that was fresh in the fridge section - I'm not sure The Good Earth in BRipp has thawed meats.... They also had this grass fed ice cream/sorbet/yogurt line in the freezer section I had never heard of before - there was a flavor called "mango lassi frozen yogurt" so you know that jumped into my little cart faster than you could murmur "mm mm good". It was pretty expensive though, so it will not be a regular purchase.... I wish I had time to try their juice bar and cafe area but I did not come to dine....next time I'm up in this hood I may pop in, but there wasn't anything I would go out of my way for here that I can't find at The Good Earth... read more

I am from CA and is very thrilled to find this amazing place. Great products for great price. The food court is also very unique with good healthy options , good taste. Some drinks and smoothies are as pricy as CA health food eateries, which I didnt mind. Today I was very dissapointed that thr mangement had taken down the big beautiful hand written menu from the wall! Why?? It was visually easier for me and my friends to pick the foid and the poo rice. Now, there are small menu on a cheap looking 6×10 paper, placed where the customrr will travel through to go to the counter. The issue is, when we go to the counter and order, there is no visual to the menu. So you need to memorize what you are ordering at what price. I had to walk back to the start of the line just to add some more food (memorize name and the price) then get back to the counter to add order. This tells me someone new must have very limited experience on managing the visual ease of food marketing. I hope management improves and learn from it. Dont get me wrong, the food and the service is great but what happened to the management to take down the usual hsnd drawn menu??? read more

Georgetown Market just completed their long awaited renovation of their deli area which includes a new salad bar, additional seating and larger deli area with juice bar and a variety of wraps, sandwiches and specialty drinks. I highly recommend the white bean achiote wrap! I did not know what achiote was but boy am I glad I tried it- the most flavorful seasoning that I was thinking about all day. Every time I come to Georgetown Market I'm struck by the diversity of the customers. You see such a huge range of people which is great. They have a ton of supplements and health tincture type items if that's something you're into. I've browsed it a few times and was blown away. The store is small, so overall the grocery variety is a tad limited but there's such really unique, healthy, and sustainable brands and a great selection of international foods too. What a neat little place! It's a little far from my house, so not a place I normally go but I stop by when I'm in this area or want to check out what random meat they may have. I was most recently in, remembered I'd purchased smoking goose brats/sausages from here. I looked, couldn't find them. This place ROCKS! It is most convenient to my house as far as health food stores go. And its so compact but they have most everything I need. The prices are comparable if not a little less than the big name health food stores. It feels like a mom and pop spot. The juicing area is undergoing maintenance, can't wait to see how it turns out. This is the perfect place to stop on my way home from Aldi. All the staff are wonderful. You have a nice Eatery you can grab a bite to eat or a sandwich to take home. I'm getting the garden sandwich to go. I recommend you do the same. Prices are moderate and they're still prices are pretty good. I love going here for lunch and so does everyone else I've taken. The best vegan item at the eatery counter, IMO, is the veggie burger with rice vegan cheese on it. It sounds brainless, but there is something about the way they cook it that I've never been able to replicate at home with the exact same ingredients. I can hardly resist the piña colada with extra strawberries either, (my favorite smoothie). Everyone is very nice, they seem to remember me from visit to visit. As a grocery store, they generally have the stuff I want, and I appreciate that they are not warehouse sized ala whole foods. I'd rather have a 10 minute grocery store trip than a 45 minute grocery store trip, but that's just me. Also, the store is full of locals and local flavor, as opposed to, again, a whole foods type place where the parking lot is filled with SUVs from all the various 'burbs. Paleo? You'll find what you're looking for. In my search for unprocessed foods and wholesome ingredients, Georgetown Market fit the bill perfectly. A grocer dedicated to natural and good-for-you foods that I wouldn't feel bad cooking with. I was looking for some vegetable broth without chemicals (you'd think this would be easy, but it is not) when a woman working there showed me her personal favorite brand. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable about the ingredients in their products. You don't find that kind of service at Marsh. Check out their back wall for products sold in bulk (pasta, beans, popcorn along with candies). I will say that the owner or manager of this place (I'm not sure which) emailed me after reading my original, lackluster review. She was very helpful and very nice. She told me that she would get to work educating her staff on the relevant food issues. And given the care and concern she took to write me, I have no doubt that she followed through. That said, the problem was not so much that the staff was initially ignorant of the differences between "organic" and "pasteurized". The problem was that, when faced with a question they didn't know the answer to, they answered anyway. I hope the manager educated her staff, not just about the products they carry, but about the wisdom of answering questions honestly, even when the answer is "I don't know." read more

Indianapolis is sprinkled with little gems; they take a while to discover, but they are there I tell you. This place, Georgetown Market, is a diamond in the rough - no doubt. I like what the 'Market' is all about... First off, the juice bar: dis is it! Fresh blended fruit, whey, spirulina, wheat-grass...they got it all. They have some delicious blends and flavors that will leave you satisfied and feeling great. With the option of creative, house-signature fruit smoothies to vitamin-rich energizers, you can always find something that's good. They also do wheat-grass by the shot with apple juice chasers, if you're into that...ugh hem. I like to go with the 'Jungle Juice,' though it's not for everyone (it's got the wheat-grasses...). The smoothie prices can seem high, but I feel it's on par with what you get: an honest fruit juice smoothie without any crap. My only gripe is the waiting area to get the buggers - no real organization for lines and not enough juice bartenders to keep the flow going, they need at least one or two more workers/blenders over lunch. The deli is full of tasty bits; with choices running from egg-salad sandwiches and turkey-pesto to vegan potato cakes and salmon burgers, you can't really go wrong. The prices are a little more reasonable, especially for a half-sandwich of something; I'm a big fan of the 'Circle City.' Service is pretty quick too. And I always give in to the guilty pleasures and add a Vegan Almond Butter Bar to the mix, those things are too damn good. As for the market itself: there is a good variety of health food options for most types of diet needs (ie. vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, low-glycemic, ect.). They also have a decent verity of low-processed items, more than most places around town, I find. Check-out the nut selection - 'German Chocolate Almonds' will blow your socks off. The other thing I really dig about GM is the soap collection - I'm a huge fan of the scented goats milk and other herbal bar soaps, smells awesome and doesn't dry our your hands. GM also has weekly classes/seminars on healthy living and holistic lifestyles if you're looking for something new to try. I basically think Georgetown Market is awesome and feel pretty lucky to have an establishment like this so close to work, especially for when I'm in the mood to eat something delicious, wholesome, and healthy for lunch. Loved this place!!! While on a road trip, we passed thru Indianapolis. Prior to our departure we had the hardest time trying to find raw, vegan or even vegetarian food in this area. After driving 5 hours, this was a good place to rest at. We did a lot of search and was having the hardest time finding anything in Indianapolis. Finally we found a local juice company and was eager to check it out. However, we didn't realize their opening day was a few weeks out. The owner of this local place was wonderful. She sent me a list of places to check out. This was one of them. This place has an impressive deli along with fresh juices, with very reasonable prices. They sell nut milks in their cooler from a local company. We were so impressed that while driving home, we stopped again and stocked up on their Zucchini patties and other goodies to take home. I really love the store. It's a great oasis on the westsdie for things you just can't get at the old Kroger. Westside health food stores are few and far between. My only pitfall is the store/deli inside. It is totally unorganized. You stand in a clusterish line to order and then you are really sure if you should pay..or wait, or pay or just give up hope. Then you wait for food in the same clusterish line and hope you can get it. The food is awesome..and I normally pay for my ordered food at the register with other goodies I find while I'm shopping. I would really go here more for lunch but then think about the disorganization and the chaos of getting it--and sometimes I just can't deal. No issues with food quality or the store itself at all. Think Whole Foods, only smaller and on the west side. Good bulk food selection, and other higher end products from this type of grocery store, but not overly expensive. If you go here expecting whole foods prices, you're good to go. Also, they have a smoothie bar. drink a smoothie while you shop. or get one after. While I was pleased by their selection of goods, the lighting of the building, the layout, and the general attitude of the staff was less than stellar. This place has some solid selection of natural products, and is far and away the closest natural grocer near where I live on the westside of the city. I really like some of their items in the bulk section, and some unusual items. It has a nice variety of natural products, and things you can feel good about eating. Pretty small on the fruit and veggies side but lots of vitamins, teas etc. They had some great sales on items. Since deciding to do a paleo lifestyle - it's not always easy to find products that I need. Recently, I have taken on a healthier lifestyle and have visited Georgetown Market a dozen times. Pros: - Juice Bar with two dozen different fresh juices and smoothies to choose from. Just belly up to the bar and order. They can even be custom ordered (one bonus star). - The Jungle juice is very good with a sweet lemony taste (made with lemon juice, apple juice, shot of wheat grass, spinach, banana, pineapple, spirulina, ...). The lemon masks all the super healthy stuff. - Staff is very friendly at the cashier and vitamin aisle. - Numerous organic, vegetarian, vegan options to choose from. - Located close to interstate. Cons: - The Indy Car Driver juice was so-so (made with beets, celery, spinach, spirulina, ...) - I have heard a copy comments about the prepared (soup/sandwich) food not tasting fresh.
