What a surprisingly pleasant experience! I was dreading taking my 19-month-old here for his very first appointment but it went better than expected. He still screamed but the dentist and assistant were fast and efficient. Since it was his first appointment, they just brushed and examined his teeth and went over any concerns. I also appreciated the lack of judgment or inquiry regarding my desire to decline the fluoride treatment. They just said "no problem" and moved on. Scheduling is via phone (I do prefer online but it's okay). They still made the process fairly simple. They also were understanding when I had to initially cancel at the last minute due to my son running a fever. They were really transparent and communicative regarding costs. They contacted me in advance to give me the exact co-pay amount. That's awesome and honestly rare. Everyone is super nice here. Dentist, dental assistant, front desk staff. Friendly and easy to talk to. They even gave me a little pot with daisy seeds because it was Mother's Day weekend. So sweet. There's also a cute play area for kids in front of reception. I've been going to GPD&O since I was 7 years old (before they even added Orthodontics). I LOVE this office. Dr. Kenny, Dr. Travis, and Dr. White have taken care of me and my brother for so many years. Today is my last appointment since I have moved to San Antonio and I hate to leave. We have been coming here for a few years. My three boys love coming here and have had no issues. The staff and dentists are great. This last visit we were never notified that our dental plan is now out of network. Now we have a $350 out of pocket bill for one filling. Very disappointed with the customer service. read more

Took my soon to be 3yr old for his first Dentist appointment since moving from LA and this has been the best experience. We had a very good educational session with Dental assistant Ms. Stephanie! Who gave us very good tips about night cleaning since we're still trying to weave him off the bottle. Dr. Lisa was super nice and was SO fast at getting a glimpse of the teeth even when my son was moving so that made my son's experience a very tolerable experience :) .We walked out with balloons and feeling very well taken care of! My children went to this dentist office up until the oldest turned 18. They are the most patient and friendly staff I have ever come across when it comes to children. My children were patients for years before they were even at this location. They showed so much patience and compassion, we kept coming back. Prior to finding this practice, I was constantly finding different dentists every six months. No one showed patience or love until I found Georgetown Pediatric Dentistry. GPD has always done a great job of providing friendly dental care to my 5yo. They play and really encourage the kids to take care of their teeth. They talk to me and to my son about what they are about to do so there are no surprises. They even have games for kids to play while we wait. Sure, there are times when some of the tools and whatnot get a little uncomfortable...they have little mouths and can be wiggle worms. But GPD does a great job of getting them done quickly and moving on. I wish we had dentists like this when I was a kid. :-) read more

Great facility. Front office, techs and hygienists are great and very kid friendly as expected. However the dentist was about an hour behind. Fifty minute wait for two minutes of his time seems excessive. Be respectful of the customer's time. read more

I cannot say enough about GT Pediatric Dentistry! I love this place! Gorgeous, super clean facility, friendly, knowledgeable staff & FUN for kiddos. My daughters get excited about going to the dentist because this place makes it so fun for them. Just recently my little one had to have a restorative procedure and although I was very nervous about it, because of the wonderful dentists and staff at GT Pediatric Dentistry, it went very, very well. GPD is the best dentist group I've ever been too including ones for the whole family and not just pediatrics. My children have seen both Dr. Hildebrand and Dr. Havard and they love them. My daughter who's been going to GPD since she was 4 loves them and the office so much she asks me to go whenever we pass the building or hears me talking of the dentist in general. The other day she was seriously disappointed when I told her that her next appointment wasn't for another 3 months. From the time I walk in the door we feel at home. I love that my daughter can go play (this is why we arrive early) and Mommy can watch through the window while listening to the water feature and drinking coffee...so basically it's part spa hehehe. But seriously they are absolutely amazing!!! I love the people that work there, the star ceiling, and their willingness to help ease our little miracle into things. Took my child in to have a cavity filled. Came out with a child how was given a root canal and a crown. At no point did they explain to me the the procedure needed ro be changed or ask my promission to do so. I was not given any other courses of opinions.... like maybe I could not had a silver crown in my child mouth. When confronted with this the doctor who did the procedure said it was ok because my insurance cover it all. Really?! Don't know if my kid needed the procedure or the doctor desided to upgrade what he could get paid for. read more

We moved to Georgetown Pediatric Dentistry several years ago. We had a wonderful pediatric dentist in Austin, but it was not feasible for us to continue with three kids. My expectations for a pediatric dentist are high and Dr. Travis has exceeded them! Dr. Travis is such a caring, kind dentist and is wonderful with all three of my kids. (16, 14 and 10) At one point my 10 year old son needed quite a bit of dental work. Dr. Travis was so patient with him during a lengthy procedure and discussed some possible reasons for all the cavities with me. After some habit changes my son got a great report and was so proud that he made a difference in his own health. Thank you Dr. Travis for being a great dentist for my kids! We took our 3.5 yr old and 22 mo old in to see Dr. Kenny Havard today and had a great experience. We were able to take both kids together, which really helped our younger child since she could see everything her big brother was having done. Of course, she wanted to do whatever he did, so she had no fear. Our daughter, visiting the dentist for the first time, had to have an x-ray done of a chipped tooth. They set it up in a way that made it so easy to get the picture they needed with no discomfort or fear for her. I was a little shocked that it went so well. The staff we interacted with (assistant, hygienist, and dentist) all did a wonderful job of communicating with the kids on their level, making it a lot of fun. They also communicated very well with my husband and I, taking time to explain a number of things that we were unaware of regarding thumb sucking, juice drinking, dental care at home, our daughter's chipped tooth (what to look out for), etc. I highly recommend them for pediatric dentistry. read more

I have a 7 year daughter I have been taking her for the past couple of years. I absolutely love Georgetown Pediatric Dentistry. They truly make the experience for the children very welcoming and comfortable. I no longer live in Georgetown but I make the commute because if my daughter is happy to see Dr. Travis then I wouldn't even think about switching her. The new location is beautiful and the staff is very nice. I wish when I was I child there was a dentist office like this one. It is a very unique experience and would recommend it to anyone! I just wanted all who read these reviews know that, this is a good place to take your child. I have a beautiful 6 1/2 years old daguhter, poor kid has a few cavities and I knew it was time to bite the bullet and take her in.. I read the reviews and I'll admit I was apprehensive beacuase of the reviews. First of all the front desk was very pleasant, which is important and FYi I work for a Doctor myself so I would know. Secondly Ms Jana and her assistant were very kind, my daughter was very at ease the entire time.. She liked the grape flavored tooth paste. ( they have a variety to pick from) Once the xrays were made, the hygentist did her thing, and then Dr. "Kenny" examined her. Once all that was done and since my kiddo does need some work done in the near future I was placed in a consult room, Dr. Kenny and I talked about what would be best for my daughter, then the business office personel ( i didn't catch her name) came in... the price points for her upcoming procedure were all defined neatly and in my opinion are very reasonable. I just wanted to give praise where I felt it is due. Thanks everyone for all the extras in your office to help make what can be scary really exciting... Very disappointed. I specifically chose them because their website stated that they specialized in treating infants-teens-special needs. When I made the appointment, I TOLD THEM my child had sensory issues and would be very nervous/afraid. We arrived, and again told them of my childs nercousness. He was nonchalantly treated as an adult. Promptly put in xray chair and the very uncomfortable xray pads placed. It was happening so quickly that he panicked. They persisted. I tried to calm him and coax him but to no avail. I told them to stop. Then, he was told to lay flat on table (no chair, just a flat bed. Didn't recline/sit up). The bright overhead light was flipped on without warning him and again he panicked. The dentist was going back n forth with my son to convince him to lay flat with light on. Flustered, the dentist moved us to a small room. Our son was given the choice to volunteer or be held down. I really needed his gums looked at and relented to a check. It was the WORST experience ever. As soon as he got examined I stopped the whole appointment. ENOUGH. As we walked to front desk my 6 yr old saw the vast array of stickers and reward items. He didn't understand why he wasn't offered a sticker. How could he understand a reward policy that was never explained nor even brought up? I did my research. Called, asked questions and thought we had found the right place. I tried to give the benefit of the doubt, yet- with every minute that passed the visit got worse. I did NOT see any "specialized" care whatsoever or any type of positive motivation. It was basically "come on kid, get with the program". They dentist was clearly annoyed. No attempt to communicate on a different level with our child. It was NOT fun, not educational, and definitely not a positive experience. Sure, it's super clean, pretty place, friendly front office. But staff and dentist were incompetent when it came down to dealing with our child. read more

We are visiting Grandma from out of town and my son had a simple wire fix. I called my own ortho and asked if I visited an out-of-town ortho, would there be a charge. He said, for a simple wire fix, he wouldn't charge an out-of-towner and couldn't imagine another professional charging. NOT SO with Georgetown Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics. They wanted $80-$100 for a SIMPLE WIRE FIX! I called two other places in town and they said, absolutely no charge, come on in! The one we chose just had an earlier time to get in. They made us feel very welcome and understood being out of town, these things happen. No charge. We were in and out of there in 10 minutes! We visit Grandma in Georgetown often and could possibly have another ortho emergency, one where we may have to pay next time. So since GPD&O only wants money and not make great customer connections, you WILL NOT get our money nor our customer service NOR OUR RECOMMENDATIONS to friends we know are moving here. read more
