I love this office. Not only does it have a vibrant energy, but I can't say enough about how Dr. Furrow is so endlessly patient and kind. He also is extremely knowledgeable and takes time to educate us as parents in our children's dental health. My oldest has been a screamer and crier for years, and Dr. Furrow and his team stay so gentle and nice throughout the entire visit. I never get a sense that they are anything but calm and supportive during the visit. They continue to welcome us with open arms. They have a fun and interactive waiting room as well as always playing the best movies for little kids. This is a great practice, and I can't recommend them enough! read more

Don't get me wrong, they're super nice. I really appreciated how well they worked with my large family all in there at once! But the dentist recommended several fillings for my oldest child, and something just didn't seem right. I took him elsewhere for a second opinion and that dentist confirmed my gut feeling that not all those fillings were necessary. Bottom line: this office is great if all your kids need is cleanings, but if they recommend any fillings, go get a second opinion! read more

I would not recommend bringing your child here. I have been taking my daughter here since her first teeth. She is 9 now and I was told at her last cleaning 6 months ago that there were no major issues with her teeth. Last month her tooth started to bother her so I took her to a new dentist to find out that 2 of her adult molars had severe cavities to the point where we had to pull them and 2 others needed fillings as well. Had her previous dentist noticed or cared about these issues they would have been addressed much earlier and prevented us from having to put her through all of this. My husband and I love Dr. Scott and his team! We started taking our son here when he turned one, and were absolutely floored by how quickly and efficiently he cleaned his teeth! We just left our second appointment, and once again were in and out in no time. I've heard from other parents that most pediatric dentists don't usually clean or sometimes even count the teeth of toddlers but Dr. Scott cleans, flosses and applies fluoride at each visit. I am late to writing this but I feel as it is important for parents to be warned about this practice. I took my almost 3 year old son to get his teeth cleaned which went fine. They did suggest filling quite a few cavities and we scheduled an oral sedation for the fillings. Upon arriving, I filled out paperwork, and we went back to the procedure room. They did not once explain to at all what the process would be. BUT the first step was to give him 3 syringes of meds: basically morphine, Valium and anti nausea medication. VERY intense drugs for an almost 3 year old. Once the drugs were forcefully given, they sent me to the waiting room with literally ZERO warning as to what the affects would be. My son was standing playing a game and immediately fell back and hit his head. I alerted the staff who seemed to laugh at the situation. The dentist then came out to the waiting room, and said "ok it's time" so we go back and they strap him down and throw laughing gas on top of his overdosed 3 year old medication. And he is FIGHTING uncontrollably. I gave it a minute which felt like forever, during this time I was so unsure as to whether this was a normal thing, once my mom brain fog left my mind I made them stop basically in tears at this point. So they did, then pulled me outside the room to talk about MONEY and how much a full sedation would be. At this point, I was infuriated. I went back into the room with my son who was incredibly drugged, could not walk, could not talk, could hardly even keep saliva in his mouth. This is so hard to even type out it was so traumatizing for me. He was drugged and couldn't walk until the next DAY. I warn every single family about this place. I filed a malpractice complaint and am waiting to hear the results. But please avoid this place for your children's sake. read more

Our 1 yr. old fell and split his lower lip on the inside. After a quick trip to our local doctor for a emergency visit, they determined no stitches were needed. I did NOT feel that way at all. It was pretty bad and so we took him to Leander Pediatric Dentistry after being directed there by my wife's coworker. They agreed that it may not heal correct if not being addressed. They put in the stitches and made us feel at ease. What a GREAT place! They explained how, why and all risk. I can honestly say this is one of my kids favorite places! After each cleaning they ask when we can go back. We have always loved how well they put our two young kids at ease and act silly with them. Recently our 7 year old daughter knocked out one of her permanent front teeth. Excellent dental experience all the way around! My 1 1/2 year old fell and chipped three teeth Friday evening. I was so upset and we were visiting from out of town. So no regular dentist to go to. I emailed them that evening and the promptly called and emailed me back to get my son in the next day. Dr. Scott Furrows didn't try to sell us every thing under the sun , even though I wanted a filling or thought I wanted a filling done. He did the least evasive thing. It was just what was needed. Great place. My two year old was running and fell flat on his face causing a lot of bleeding and discomfort note that this happened of course after office hours I called anyway and let a message explaining what happened and I got a call back from Dr Scott and he said that he would meet us at the office and take a look. I took my son in who was hysterical from seeing all the blood and wouldn't show me his teeth but was willing to show Dr f after he let him play with a pair of gloves and explained to him what he was doing. I took my son in today. The Dr. and staff were amazing! The little man was comfortable and happy from start to finish which is quite a feat with a headstrong and super wriggly 4 year old! This dentist office is a hidden gem. We just moved to the Austin area and we're having a difficult time finding a pediatric dentist office that was not booking 1 to 2 months out for new patients. I loved how welcome they made my family feel. My kids had such a great experience they wanted to know when they can go back. I wish I could have my dental visits done here. Dr. Scott and Melissa are the bomb.com! They are both super knowledgeable and take the time to explain everything and why your child needs certain treatments. They answer all your questions and go over costs with you beforehand. They are both very nice and good with kids. My daughter used to be anxious about going to the dentist but not anymore. Words can not describe how great this place is. On a scale of 1 to10, I would give Dr. Scott and Melissa a 10 with out a doubt. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would give my almost 3 year old a 7 for his first dental visit. Dr. Scott was able to go with the flow and really keep things on track all in the same instant. Once we were able to get my kiddo to lay down, Dr. Scott was quick and to the point so as to not prolong the already "anxious" visit. I was impressed with how well my kid did and I give most of the credit to Dr. Scott. The office is great, it is so open and full of natural light, your kiddo isn't put in to a small room with no windows, everything is open. Take your kids there, you won't be disappointed. I brought my son here first for his regular check-up. My boy was nervous but relaxed as soon as we walked in. The office has a fantastic nautical theme complete with huge fishtank. It feels open and bright. There are also a couple of videogame consoles for the kids to use while waiting in the lobby. In the back, the equipment is clean, well maintained, and state of the art. Lots of sunshine pouring through the whole place! Dr. Scott is great with my son, even having a sword fight with him before a visit once. Ms. Melissa and Dr. Scott always remember us even though we go months between visits, and didn't even flinch when I brought my toddler for her first visit. My daughter complained throughout the cleaning, but they were both patient with her and worked quickly. I love having such a great office right down the street from us. And Saturday appointments too! Dr. Scott and Melissa have had all 3 of my children when we lived in Round Rock. My 5 year old is a special needs child and Dr. Scott makes her dental experience very exciting. So if you're looking for someone who also specializes with special needs, look no further. My older kiddos just loves it here. Unfortunately, we had moved back home (Hawaii) and are now in Houston for medical purposes and needed to do their routine cleaning. Dr. Scott and Melissa are wonderful! Their office is so clean and inviting. My kids love the nautical theme and the giant fish tank. They even have two XBOX consoles in the waiting area. Dr. Scott is extremely patient and explains exactly what he is doing. My kids feel at ease and actually look forward to their visit. Each chair has it's own TV with a kids show and giant windows so it creates a positive atmosphere They are great about accommodating my work and school schedule to fit my kids in. They even have Saturday hours. We never feel rushed and I love how they explain each procedure so my children learn about dental health. I have been to a few other dentists and Leander Pediatric Dentistry exceeded all my expectations! After Halloween my kids were able to turn their candy in to ship to the troops for $1/lb, I think it's a great way to give back and encourage children to not eat all that candy.
