Dr. Covington was nice, she explained how to use my creams and I also had questions about other products I use at home and she suggested other procedures that would more efficiently help my hyperpigmentation with melanated skin. She prescribed some creams and it went well! Their office smelled good and was clean too. I'll be back for sure.

I booked a "New Patient Full Body Skin Check" appointment online for July, but was happy to receive an alert saying that Dr. Covington could see me sooner this week. So I hopped on it and completed the online registration. Registration was straight forward and I appreciated the clear and frequent communication leading up to the appointment. On the day of, check-in was straightforward, the front staff was kind and professional, and the waiting area was new and shiny; all was looking up until my appointment. I met the Dr. who was nice, but I realized early on that this would be a touch and go appointment. I immediately sensed I was being hurried. My "new patient" experience felt very impersonal. I talked about my skin concerns, but the doctor didn't seem curious about any of them and asked little to no follow up questions-- only giving quick answers that left me with more questions. After I talked about my concerns, that was it. I'm not sure what the "Full Body Skin Check" was supposed to entail, but there was no additional "checking" of any kind, and I was so over the whirlwind appointment after a mere 10-15 mins that I didn't care to ask. I left with an Rx and follow up appointment that I'll be canceling now that the dust has settled. I'm glad I checked this place out for myself, but it's back to Austin I go.

The hernia doctor, who was finishing her preparations, was confused, but Dr. Pike provided no explanation. Shocked and upset, I immediately broke down crying. I booked a follow up appointment a week later, during which Dr. Pike told me she had chosen to cancel my surgery at the last minute because my life was not in order and my (documentably treated and stable) depression was not sufficiently stabilized. This not being her field of expertise, I suggested she contact my psychiatrist, but she declined. Dr. Pike's bedside manner was atrocious. She was rude, abrupt, disparaging, and in my opinion, wholly unprofessional. As many other reviewers have pointed out, her behavior toward patients is alarming, to say the least. Their experiences of being discriminated against remind me of my own. Fortunately I found an excellent surgeon in Temple to perform the surgery, Dr. Samuel Lance, whom I highly recommend. I would suggest never using Dr. Pike due to her discriminatory lack of professionalism and compassion for her patients.

It is now Sept 2024 and I can confidently say: Best decision I ever made. Dr. Pike was thorough and efficient, and I'm pleased with my results. I really only saw her for the initial consult and on the day of surgery. The rest of my post op appts I was seen by the nurse practitioner, who is so sweet. All of the women working in her office at Baylor Scott and White were amazing! Very competent, very cordial, remembered me, etc. Overall it was a really positive experience and my recovery was much easier than I had anticipated! I'm happy with the way my breasts look and feel and I highly recommend Dr. Pike.

Had many surgeries and usually the Surgeon checks in with you a few hours after the anesthesia has worn off, but nothing.. Then my drainage bulb reached over 100ml (full) while the other 3 we barely had a drop, since I was new to drainage bulbs, yes I Panicked.. Called him, explained the issue and in a real mean and snarky tone he replied "What do you want me to do about it, I'm on the road !" (Still remember fresh as it was yesterday) thats the impression I was left with this Dr" Heard about my complaints and reacted very sarcastically "ah, he has anxiety"... "Darn" right, when a patient has been cut open and worried about recovery he/she is going to have anxiety... As a Surgeon he is very good, no issues just an incision infection here and there, basically normal.. Being a good surgeon is great but how you treat and CARE for your patients matters too, and that is the impression a patient remembers.. If I had to do it all again, I would have researched for a better more caring surgeon... If I could I would give him ZERO stars and would have, but his surgery made up for the additional star ratings. The Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery, needs a lot of work on how it "treats" their patients... Do not recommend this facility, at all... * Seton Hospital is not included in this review. Seton provided me excellent service.. Highly recommend Seton.. Not Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery of Central Texas or Dr. Cullington

I've been a patient at this dermatology practice for over 10 years, and unfortunately my most…read morerecent visit was disappointing enough that I feel compelled to speak up. My appointment began with the nurse not knowing my history of melanoma -- something that should be clearly noted and prioritized after a decade of care. The doctor came in rushed, didn't take the time to answer even basic skincare questions, and instead referred me to their spa upstairs. On top of that, the prescription the doctor said would be sent to my pharmacy was never submitted. The frustration continued when I attempted to schedule my 6-month follow-up. I was told that the doctor I've been seeing for the last two years is "not taking new patients," and that I would need to switch providers within the practice -- despite being an established, long-term patient. It left me feeling dismissed and undervalued. Because of these issues, I've since found a new dermatologist and will no longer be a client of this practice. After so many years of loyalty, I expected better care, better communication, and better continuity. I hope they take this feedback seriously.
