What a great University Bookstore! I spent several hours here wandering the aisles looking at all the different Georgetown merchandise available. Your prices are typical school bookstore expensive, but nothing exorbitant. T shirts with Georgetown emblems were around $18 and sweatshirts around $60. I was surprised to find a "Grumpy cat" stuffed animal with a Georgetown tshirt on, as well as Boo, cutest dog in the world in similar attire. The books/textbooks are upstairs, clothing and computers are downstairs. They have numerous employees wandering the store asking if you need any help. I asked one for a medium sweatshirt size and she promptly went to the back and retrieved the right fit for me. They also have a great selection of birthday cards, snacks, baby accessories, and general school supplies. If you want to pick up some Georgetown memorabilia, or if you are a student and want to unwind after a test and get a little shopping therapy. Either way, I recommend this bookstore. read more

This a pretty decent sized college bookstore with plenty of Georgetown swag. Granted - unless you went to Georgetown or love the Hoyas, you probably won't buy a lot of sweatshirts or t-shirts here. However, in terms of the amount of swag - there's plenty to go around and there's a lot of variety. In terms of books, well it's a student bookstore. You can get plenty of academic related items here and other stuff too if you're in a pinch for say, a bookbag or seriously need some stationary. However, what I like about this shop is the decent variety of clothing options and the fact a lot of noted name brands like Nike, Under Armor and other companies all offer their own line of GU apparel and you can find it all here in one place. I almost never buy books here unless I can't find them anywhere else. It's a great place for gifts though. If I could give my dad a new Georgetown mug every single year for father's day/birthday/Christmas, I'd basically never shop anywhere else for him. Getting official school merchandise can be expensive, but that shirt you like will probably be on sale for a decent price in a couple of months. read more

I wish I could give ZERO stars because 1 star gives them far too much credit...I cannot warn you enough, STAY AWAY FROM THIS BOOKSTORE! THEY STEAL FROM THEIR CUSTOMERS!!! How can Georgetown steal from their customers, you might ask? Well let me explain and why I now have a visceral hatred for an organization that was supposed to be a merchant of knowledge For the last few weeks I've been searching for a new pair of headphones to enjoy weekly MILO podcasts in privacy, and last night I found a promo code to slightly discount the price on these headphones through the Georgetown University Bookstore. Excited, I quickly applied it to the purchase, discounted the price, completed payment, and eagerly awaited delivery...that is until I found out what the crooks at B&N were actually doing. They lied about the promotion, cancelled all orders that used the promotion AFTER processing the orders/promising delivery, and expected they could just get away with it. To top it all off, they CENSORED the Milo book from Dangerous Publishing Inc. "Dangerous," so I couldn't even pick up a copy from my favorite author when I went in to file an official complaint with the store over my headphones. These people are crooks, breached the headphone contract we had, and (if done knowingly) committed outright fraud in order to win free media attention with their illegitimate promotion. I will NEVER shop here again, and strongly suggest that you don't as well. I'm beginning to gather information on all afflicted parties now to start the proceedings for a class action lawsuit. If you or anyone you know was hurt by this, please reply so we can get in contact with one another. The more people we have signed on, the greater likelihood this deplorable establishment will be forced to make good on their promises. Stay away if you like honest businesses. read more

The bookstore is located in the Leavey Center and adjacent from Uncommon Grounds. The bookstore itself it well organized with apparel on the ground floor as well as some snacks and mementos while the second floor is all books. It's a clean operation. The cashiers attendants are friendly but the employees running the floor is hit or miss. They do know their way to the apparel but for do-dads like Georgetown logo patches they told me they didn't have it, but they did. Slight oversight, but oh well. read more

There are many ways to pass an hour in the Gtown bookshop: Sit in a burgundy colored recliner next to the fake fireplace, poring over a tome of romantic poetry. Or, stand and gawk at breaking news on the big screen TVs. Collector? Then ddd to your assortment of pewter key chains and officially licensed shot glasses. The American Literature section features prominently, stocked with all the best: Twain, Kerouac, and Hunter S. Thompson. All college book stores should have easy return policies, and these guys understand that. What's more, Georgetown basketball is on the rise again, and that means that Hoya merchandise will soon be in demand. Come by and pick up a hooded sweatshirt for you dad or some Hoya booty shorts for your little sister. read more

Do you suffer from Hoya paranoia? Here is your remedy. Living 3000 miles away from campus it's hard finding Hoya gear to try on so I was like a kid in a candy store wanting to buy everything. And they have it all, from magnets to baby fashion to basketballs. Go Hoyas! read more

Of course, my visit to Georgetown wouldn't be complete without getting some GU apparel from their campus store for the family. Although I did like that they had pull over hoodies for less than $20 *excluding tax,* I did not appreciate that the styles I was looking for had very limited sizes, specifically the sizes I wanted were not in the inventory. The styles weren't that hard either. I needed to find a hoodie with GU's emblem in size M. The only one I found was over $50. I also was looking for a jacket (non-hoodie) that had the word Georgetown somewhere on it. The latter was easier to find in terms of styles, but the size (L) was quite difficult. The sales associates did answer my questions whether or not they had the particular items in stock, but it was still frustrating to find something that matched what I was searching for. In the end, to a certain degree, I got what I needed with my wallet considerably lighter. read more

I went to a very small private business school in Northern California, so when I stepped in to this book store I was very impressed. It was quite big! They had a lot of apparel, and a good selection of books. I actually picked up a read. I wasn't surprised though; after all it is Georgetown. My only gripe is that it was hard to find! They need more directories up around campus. read more

Not much to review about a University bookstore. But, since it's Yelpable, I'll go for it. Nothing special about this place. We were here in the summer, so granted probably not going to be up to the norm. It was under a remodel when we were there as well. They had a ton of product to offer, wide-array of your typical bookstore stuff. I wanted a specific Georgetown baseball hat, but they were out of my size. So, that was my only gripe. I think the previous reviewers both err in that this is a review of the Bookstore, not the Leavey center in which it is housed. As a first year graduate student, I have found this bookstore leaves a lot to be desired, even when compared to my undergraduate institution(a very large state school)'s bookstore. Books and all manner of supplies have been out of stock since school began three weeks ago. For instance, for the last week the shelves of the binder section have been almost entirely barren. The variety of office supplies offered is bare-bones at best (for those who prefer variety in pens, look elsewhere). In general, this store, like so many operated by e-Folelt, seems more concerned with selling Georgetown merchandise than books and school supplies. Perhaps Georgetown University "Bookstore" is a misnomer? read more

The Georgetown Bookstore is a great place to hang out on the fabulous Georgetown campus. Here, you can browse books, grab some miscellaneous stuff, textbooks, study guides,Hoyas merchandise, including Big East champion shirts, and probably some things I'm forgetting. It's very nice and expansive on the inside. Overall, this is a great place to stop in if you're anywhere near campus. Go Hoyas!!! read more

Last year while at Georgetown for one of their summer camps I bought a Macbook charger recommended to me by the staffer based on her knowledge of my model. When I got back to my room it turned out that my staffer had given me the incorrect charger for my model -- an honest mistake that I wouldn't blame her for! The trouble started when I tried to return my charger and was stopped from doing so because, despite having the receipt and original box with the charger still in it, because the plastic wrapping around the box was ripped they wouldn't accept a return. When I went to the normal Apple store to try to return it, they said that the item should be completely acceptable for a return, but since I had purchased through the Georgetown bookstore I could only return the item there. Now I'm stuck with an $80 item I can't use and can't return because of the Georgetown bookstore policies! I'm sure that all their other items and services are fine, but if you want a computer product, save yourself the possible future hassle and get one from a normal store. read more

Impossible to get in touch with. Every time I called throughout last month, my call went to an automated notice saying they have high call volume. I then emailed twice asking to cancel an order, but no answer there either. I was finally charged for the order anyway and had to hunt them down to get a refund. FYI the email address they give in the order confirmation never responds. I'm a grad student and not on campus most of the time, so dealing with them in person was not an option. This bookstore has everything, from latex gloves and lab coats to greeting cards and stuffed animals. You can purchase course materials for medical school courses and labs, but you can also get the soda and snacks you need to get you through your day as a student or medical center employee. Staff is always friendly, and you can find almost anything you need here, including cough and cold medicine if you're feeling under the weather! read more

I don't know anybody who truly loves being forced to spend hundreds of dollars at a time on books, but for what it's worth they have what you need. For certain classes they have used books, other than that they are as expensive as anywhere else. Shopping elsewhere might not be a bad idea. read more

Their products are overpriced, but a wide selection covering every interest and each is a very decent quality. However, their customer service at the main campus is abysmal. I'm not sure if the employees are upset because Follett lost their contract to Barnes & Noble (and maybe they're losing their jobs?), but (1) don't call them with questions unless you want to experience sass and impatience and (2) definitely expect hidden terms that prevent even timely refunds. read more

You want Gtown-branded stuff? You gotta pay the big bucks.

So I just graduated from Gtown and wanted to purchase a diploma frame for my very expensive/well earned degree. Since I live out of state, I ordered it online and it took a month to ship. On the website it says ground ship is 7-10 business days not, a month. I think this is disgraceful. Not that I need the frame urgently or anything, but if something is promised then it should be done. The frame was not cheap and I would prefer it to be hanging on my wall, instead of still in transit. I called to complain and no one answered the phone or called me back within 24 hours, again as promised. Thankfully I graduated and don't have to deal with this bookstore anymore...lame... read more
